>> reporter: good evening. planned parenthood clinics perform all sorts of services. abortions are one of them. attention, both positive and negative to the healthcare provider. amy rooker plans to turn to planned parenthood for healthcare an not just an abortion. she is concerned about a bill before the legislature to take away the group's funding. >> it is going to take away access for pap smears, mammograms. >> reporter: planned parenthood held a protest outside the lakeland office of state senator kelly stargel, a sponsor of the bill. the bill is politically motivated based on an undercover video recorded at planned parenthood centers around the country last summer. >> as we all know, the two

campaign have been indicted by the state of texas and planned parenthood has been cleared of all wrong doing. ultimately, these pieces of bills are reactionary. >> reporter: but the senator says her bill has nothing to do with those videos. >> i would prefer there not be elective abortion. but this bill is a regulatory bill to make sure the abortion clinic has the same regulations as our healthcare providers. >> reporter: there are 16 planned parenthood centers around florida that are vied abortions like this one in lakeland. they are worried if they are closed it will affect women's healthcare in the state. >> restricting access which is what they are trying to do. it will hurt more women than it will help. >> reporter: now, last year, florida governor rick scott ordered a state investigation to find out if the 16 planned parenthood clinics in florida were selling fetal remains but

none of those clinics were involved in that kind of activity. josh? >> thank you josh thomas. the florida state fair is now underway. take a live look from the fairgrounds in tampa. the rides are in full swing and the tantalizing food is being cooked up as we speak. but there's a lot more that goes into the fair than meets the eye. adrienne pedersen is showing us what the state attorney is doing to keep you from getting ripped off. >> reporter: the goal of the game inspections is not to make sure they are easy, but instead, that they are winable. so let's check it out. there we go. we followed hillsborough county state attorney mark ober along with the sheriff office through the game inspections. >> what are some of the common issues you see? >> one of the big things for me is to have conspicuous signs that tell you what you are buying.

lewis now faces a felony charge for animal cruelty. a sheriff sergeant got shot in the leg during a deadly shoot out in ocala. they found a man with two guns. one pointed at his own head. the man pointed the other gun at them and started firing. deputies returned fire, killing the man. the sergeant we are told is stable. a man dressed as batman caught on camera committing a crime. you can see the man walk into the dollar general store dressed as the dark knight. he pulled out a gun and demanded money. about an hour later, another dollar general store was also robbed by a man. you guessed it. dressed as batman. investigators are working to determine the identity of the man. and an 11-year-old boy is in a lot of trouble for taking his parents' pickup truck on a joyride. the boy drew a lot of attention as he swerved up and down the road. even crashed the truck into a car.

his wild ride prompted several people to call 911. >> he is running into trees. >> he is going full speed into anything he can hit. >> he pulled right out in front of somebody and went off the road. >> well, the driver the boy hit was not injured luckily. but the boy has asperger's syndrome. pastors an their churches could not be sued for refusing to perform same sex marriage on legislation that moved forward. opponents say it creates a smoke screen for bigotry. mike has more from tallahassee. >> reporter: churches wouldn't lose their tax exempt statuses and pastors couldn't be sued for refusing to perform same sex marriages under the pastor

as you watch this year's game, or just the commercials, try not to think about the green. for consumer watch, i'm mary maloni. nasa's orion spacecraft is built to take humans further than they have ever gone before. the new module is being shown off at the kennedy space center. it is set to fly at least 30,000 miles beyond the moon on an unmanned test flight in late 2018. an that trip is just the beginning. the ultimate goal is to send astronauts to mars and beyond. >> this is what we worked on for so long. this is what, if you grew up, and you are into human exploration and nasa, this is the epitome of that. >> and the rockets will be launching out of florida again as they should. it is important to commemorate that. >> there is still a lot of work to be done to get ready for 2018. it is all taking place on the space coast making it the first

really good. yeah. yes. it is really good. i will use a fork from now on. but it is really good. >> you could just have an eating show. >> reporter: i need my own sampling show. i'm done eating for the day. seriously. >> thank you. >> see you guys later. >> later rod carter. i love the fair food. i'm glad rod is able to enjoy it this year, we are watching the radar this afternoon. at freedom plaza, you can see at 63 degrees. a little bit of rainfall so far, but greater amounts to the west. two tenths of an inch. you can see the rain coming down. 61 degrees. temperatures cooling off. winds starting to shift. this is the lake club in lakewood ranch. still a bit milder in southern areas when you compare it to some of the northern places and this is frenchies's. six tenths of an inch of rain. rip currents a concern in the forecast area for tomorrow. so, a cold front is behind all of this. of course.

that will end the rain tonight. and push some cool air on through the area. temperatures below average for the week ahead. winds will pick up extended periods of breezy conditions. windy and cool. quite a combination in light of our 84-degree record high yesterday. showers continue to roll in ahead of the front. took a while. but they finally got here. they are slowly working their way moving northeast within the line. but the line itself is slowly pushing east. probably not as strong or intense by the time you get to highlands county. some rain in man manatee and sarasota. the bulk of the heavier activity would be in the north and central areas. now the heavier rain pushing to the east of citrus county. sumter an hernando. there are pockets mixed in here further south as you can see moving into bradenton and sarasota.

65 degrees this evening. we will have a chance of showers all the way until midnight. cooler temperatures, much chill chillier out the door. blue sky an sunshine. 61 degrees. tampa international. 61 in saint pete. dew point, 59. very high humidity and strong winds from the north. temperatures are 15 degrees cooler than they were 24 hours ago. in tampa, 20 degrees cooler than it was in crystal river. so, clearly the changes are taking place. the upper levels, a drier air aloft. still some deeper moisture at the surface with the front and high above in the atmosphere too with the cold front pushing into the area. there is our cold front on the map. you can see clearer skies behind the front. we are right on the boundary. we built up a lot of warmth and humidity. turned into rain. that is what we are seeing right now with the moisture in the atmosphere coming down as rain. pretty decent amounts at the

over an inch-and-a-half of rain there. tomorrow morning though, skies clearing. much cooler temperatures in the 40s to start the day. breezy conditions from the north and northeast. and northwest too. breezy conditions will continue throughout the afternoon. by saturday, start to add a few clouds back in here. but still on the cool side. so make a plan for overall cool conditions. and just get used to it. 60 degrees friday. 64 degrees saturday. 62 on sunday. kind of a breeze each day here too. 20% rain chance comes later on saturday. we think that area of low pressure that is going to cause the rain will likely develop to our east. so rain is less of an issue than we originally thought. cooler temperatures. look at wednesday there. 58 degrees. get out the jacket. whatever you want to wear. a sleeping bag. whatever will keep you warm. because you will need it guys. >> got the snugy on standby. thanks steve. well, a brazen robber try
