well, there is hang anger tonight for a rally in downtown tampa. the blogger behind this has been called pro rape. pro rape. just about everyone agrees his views are not welcome here. jeff patterson joins us live in curtis hixson park. is the meeting still on? >> reporter: depends on who you talk to. the blogger says worldwide the meetings have been canceled but the mayor's office says it may still be on. curtis hixson park in downtown tampa is one of mayor bob buckhorn's favorite places so when an international website announced they were holding a meetup for people in favor of legalizing rape, he was outraged. it is vile. >> reporter: the website says the meetups are canceled but

>> there has been some internet traffic and facebook traffic. we will be on top of it if it does occur. >> reporter: many people are not even sure if this is a real event. >> initially, i thought it was a joke. >> reporter: tampa tattoo artist john larson dig some digging and thought it looked legit enough to not go unnoticed. >> after the outrage went away, my immediate thoughts were that we had to do something to counter it. >> reporter: so he is organizing a counterprotest for diversity. should be held in the same park. at the same time. >> it is parent that we celebrate and support all choices. all races. all walks of life. >> reporter: the counterprotest will be saturday night, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. keith? >> i almost hate to give this publicity because it is such a bad idea. if it is a hoax, shame on that

the phone saying things like i'm going to kill you and your whole family. and god is going to get you for this. and so am i. the family is asking the judge to grant a restraining order against the fiance. and now, to an 8 on your side consumer alert. a skimming device found on a gas pump in sarasota. it was discovered at a marathon gas station on north washington boulevard. they don't know how long this thing has been here. police suggest people who bought gas at this station carefully check their bank accounts. illegal speed bumps popping up out of nowhere. they were another authorized by the county and it was actually neighbors who called in the pavers to do this speed bump. and what they did to slow down drivers in their neighborhood is extreme. three speed bumps are up along the road and now, pasco county public works crews will soon take them out. 8 on your side's peter bernard

joining us live in that port richie neighborhood. hi peter. >> hello there. >> reporter: neighbors that are fed up with people racing up and down the street had three speed bumps installed. they are illegal. if these speed bumps just right, you could lose your muffler. this one is built like a curb. there are three of them. neighbors say speeding is a problem. >> if someone will take it upon themselves to save their neighbor some grief, more power to them. >> reporter: cooper paving out of pennsylvania installed the speed bumps. >> it is crazy. >> reporter: neighbor eric barlow caught the neighbors in the act. you can see the cooper paving logo passing by. he insisted we do not show his face because of death threats. >> you have to come to a stop

loose on your car. you will take a heck of a bump. >> reporter: we saw neighbor randy reese talking to the paying crew. >> i talked to him. yes. >> reporter: we can see you pointing out where he wanted to go. >> you want to take that off? >> no. >> then i'm not talking to you. >> reporter: reese was not thrilled with our camera. >> it appeared to be done right in front of your house. >> that don't mean i done it. >> reporter: he ducked into his house. it illegal to install speed bumps on a public road on your own. >> we have to take that out. it is just dangerous the way it was put in. there is a process in place. >> do you put speed bumps on a puck lick road without getting approval from the county? >> reporter: a spokesperson said she did it for free after neighbors asked. >> reporter: and she thought they got the permits.

>> you will see a super saturday. california might have superbowl sunday. bradenton, palmetto, super saturday. >> reporter: while 100,000 people will be focused on the water, law enforcement will be focused on the skies making sure there are no drones. copters are not allowed at the event. >> there are two reasons. interference and safety. >> reporter: while the race is going on, helicopters will be flying overhead looking out for manatees. officials don't want the drones interfering with the pilots. >> it could be dangerous. >> you don't know who is behind the controls. >> officials don't want any drones near the competitors in the water. if the drone is spotted, officials will stop the event until it is removed. for professional photographers, these amateurs are getting in the way. >> you can hit the stick.

temperatures. there is the rain south of jacksonville. in sarasota. this is across the state from west to east. a few showers and thunderstorms fashion. you can see what is going on. moving past throughout sumter county. hernando county. in pinellas county, hillsborough county, still light to moderate rain. further south, you can see the showers in the western part of venice. southern sections of minnesota county. folks in polk county, you will see some rain, but not as strong as the folks on the coast have seen. at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, slow warmup. much cooler. this cold front causing all this rain will drop temperatures as much as 20

yesterday with that record high of 84. 45 degrees under clear skies at 7:00 a.m. 60 in the afternoon. nice day, sunny day. also a breezy day. temperatures are changing from northwest to the south as you can see. as the cold air makes progress. 80 still in segring. you folks will cool down. but the temps are quite cool. gusting in sarasota. saint petersburg. lit be windy tomorrow. the windchill over the next 24 hours will continue to fall here into the overnight hours. feels like temperatures upper 30s in the northern spots. there is our cold front. the natural instability. the temperature range causes the showers and the thunderstorms. not anticipateing the the severe weather like in alabama. but the rain crossing the state at the moment. this is the model here, a high resolution model. thursday at 9:00 p.m., you can see it pushing off to the east.

air works its way in. by 5:00 a.m., the sunshine, very cool days that will carry on now for the next seven days so the temperature change will stick this time. we are not going to jump right back in the 70s and the 80s . we will stay cool for a long period of time. breezy conditions will stay with the northwesterly breeze by saturday. pick up a few extra clouds. temperatures don't change too much. highs in the 60s throughout this period. an area of low pressure develops sunday. moving off to the east. that won't do a lot to create a lot in the forecast. for sunday. keep a slight chance for saturday. overall, the rain chance has dropped for the weekend. as the temperatures have. for sunday. 65 degrees for monday. recool the air through this period. to just keep it in that range of about 10 degrees below normal for our high temperatures. 58 degrees for a high on wednesday. not outrageously cold, but just
