county and rod, i understand you have new information for us now. >> reporter: we popped into the justice center. it goes into great and explicit detail on what happened on dr. john drygas's exam table. the attorney of the victim doesn't believe their client is the only victim. shannon maynard bailey had high praise for her doctor until last night when she learned he who had performed five surgeries on her was arrested for sexual battery. according to the affidavit, he assaulted a woman. he said he was checking for scar tissue and proceeded to batter her again.

tried to scream and the doctor forcefully kissed her so hard it split her bottom lip. >> it never crossed my mind. he is a great surgeon. you know. my family and i felt comfortable around him. >> reporter: the victim's attorney e-mailed this statement which says in part this is inexcusable conduct and the ultimate betrayal by a medical professional. meanwhile, my search for the doctor at his home and his new office turned up empty. he is nowhere to be found. shannon is not looking for him ever again. >> um, i'm getting ready the look for a new one now. don't want to take any chances. >> reporter: also, in this report, the doctor told investigators according to investigators that he did commit those acts and they were not for any medical reasons. >> so rod, what is the

ciaing about all of this? >> reporter: i stopped by there too. he pointed out his last day with them was july 31 days after this last incident occurred. they say they are working very closely with authorities and helping any way they can. >> rod carter, thank you. no longer able to harm children. a predator will spend the rest of his life behind bars. nathan brian was sentenced to life in prison for making child pornography. he used craigslist to advertise his services as a babysitter. then tried to lure a child to have sex. bradenton police believe more victims will come forward now that brian is serving a life sentence. the tampa bay rays officially began the process of talking about a new stadium on the tampa side of the bay. officials sat down in a closed door meeting with mayor bob buckhorn and the chair commission.

expected to take the stage in a few minutes. he will not be making the crowd wait long much here. you can see this room is packed out here. it is full of people that are packed in here waiting to see marco rubio. rubio is feeling good and for good reason. rubio was a big contender. he is up from third to second in the latest nbc wall street journal poll. still in the lead, donald trump. rubio is followed by the iowa winner ted cruz. behind them, governor john kasich and jeb bush with 9% and christie with 6%. christie has been taking shot at rubio, but he cannot deny the momentum of rubio. >> it is to be expected right? any time anybody gets that kind of media coverage which is what he got for doing what everybody thought he was going to do. the guy got a third place finish. congratulations.

>> new tonight, we are seeing florida. there are now 14 cases statewide. three of them in hillsborough county. miami dade county has the most with five. the other cases are in lee, santa rosa, broward, saint john's, and osceola county. all of the cases are travel related at this point and none of them involve pregnant woman. video of two gators chomping on each other is getting attention. jeremiah johnson shot the video outside of his office in largo wednesday. the gators have licked in the lake behind him since they were babies and he has never seen

panzers but when verizon accidentally cut off his long distance service, it left him shaken. everyday, james spends hours on his hand radio communicating with people around the world. especially in europe. in age 21, a member of general patton's army, he liberated europe from the nazis. he fought in the battle of the bulge. now, he has heart and vision problems complicated with a battle with cancer in his cheek. the communication he relies on is the telephone. >> it is my life blood. using that phone for me is like blood flowing through your veins. >> reporter: late last month, that blood flow clotted when he called new jersey. >> i was told i have no long distance. >> reporter: the phone is imperative to him. so he claims he called verizon. >> they hang up on me.

contacted 8 on your side. >> i didn't know. you said you could take care of it. i don't have to worry now. >> reporter: i reached out to verizon director of communications bob who jumped on the problem immediately. >> when you called within an hour or so, we were able to turn that back on and he was back in business. >> reporter: and then they reached out to james. >> once we were able to get the service reconnected for him, we contacted him and encouraged him to make the call to his son in new jersey. long distance worked. we stayed on the line with him to make sure that was the case. >> you call your son up. be sure you are getting through. >> reporter: service restored. this world war ii veteran feels a lot more at ease. >> i feel secure when i call. i know things will be taken care of. >> it is a pleasure to have you in my home. >> what a great guy. >> aw. >> thank you. >> what caused the long distance outage? they accidentally wiped out his long distance code. when the mistake was covered, the switch was turned back on. an he said it was done really quickly. >> a simple fix once they were aware of it. so, does this happen often or were others affected? >> reporter: they say no. and according to alec, verizon is built around technology and human actions and sometimes things happen. >> well, we salute him for his service. 92 years old. >> right. what stories he has to tell. >> and thank you for geting to the bottom of it. >> thanks steve. we saw our new hampshire crew earlier in the newscast hard at work. but look at the scene outside. video sent by producer

roads in straten, new hampshire. most people in florida would say it is nice it is up there and we are down here. it is a little cooler. 58 degrees the current temp. clear skies. at freedom plaza. we vasalenda light east wind. look at the sky. just bright blue today. now at sunset, just gorgeous. 60 degrees here at hula bay. 27% relative humidity at that location. an at the lake club in lakewood ranch. we have a northeast wind at 5 miles an hour. as for our weekend, saturday, probably pick up a few clouds on saturday. 65 degrees. maybe some evening showers favoring inland areas as an area of low pressure develops off the east coast. for sunday, 60 degrees. a bit more sunshine as the skies clear out. cool and breezy. breezy probably both days. more shower activity probably over on florida's east coast thanks to the stronger winds there. 47 degrees at 7:00 a.m. 65 degrees at 3:00 p.m. again, a mix of clouds.

that slight possibility of rain as we talked about. 58 temple terrace. 55 seminole. 58, the current temp in lutes. it is 58 in brooksville. 58 bartow. 59 venice. temperatures are falling fast. radiational cooling under clear skies. any kind of heat 64 for a high. it goes right up through ceiling. a strong northeasterly wind into the area. stronger on the east coast. they will likely see a few more showers over there. but still pretty good wind gusts in winter haven. look at the air above. dry air colored in red here sweeping across the sunshine state. that is what led to the gorgeous pictures you saw on the cameras. high pressure is the big feature. our feature back to the west. this is the reason why we are seeing such cool dry air. stratis cumulo-clouds. these are a freeze warning advisory. things like that. not in place for the bay area for tonight.

but not really any point are we talking about a major freeze so that is good news. this evening clear skies. quiet and cool night. i mentioned the clouds more numerous on the east coast thank to the flow carrying the clouds across the state. so expect a few more clouds in the forecast for tomorrow. certainly the cooler air will be in the forecast. mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. a slim rain chance. these blobs overplay the slight rain chance for us at about 20%. saturday evening a few showers developing with low pressure down to the south. this will scoot off the east coast. deepen a bit. help to drag in quite a bit olympics coof air from the north. we will drag in more of a northerly flow for sunday. then clear skies and chilly as we move into monday. more of the same with a lot of sunshine and an overall cooler feel to the air. 60 sunday. 65 monday. note the rain chances are very low through this period. they are there. and probably, favor inland areas. the air just stays cool

>> the tampa bay lightning have 32 games at home the season. now considering 11 teams are within just seven points of each other in the stands, every matchup is absolutely pivotal. that includes tonight's home affair with the pittsburgh penguins. the bolts enter the evening tied in their division with 60 points. the penguins have 57. the penguins will be without evgeni malkin who is out with a lower body injury. but the penguins have plenty of weapons. >> malkin is a premier player in this league, last time they were here, he was the best on the ice. pittsburgh has won four straight, their power play is on fire. we are probably catching them at their peak the way they rain chances playing.

appearance sunday, jameis winston's season is officially in the books. but he might have to make room in the trophy case. she up for two rookie honors in the next 24 hours or so. the first pepsi rookie of the year will be handed out in san francisco at 12:30 a.m. eastern time. tomorrow at the nfl honors awards show. he is up for ap offensive rookie of the year. also at that show, the pro football hall of fame class will be announced. john lynch, tony dungee. seems like dungee has an edge. we will talk about that at 11:00. >> thanks paul. finally, if you are trying to figure out what to get your sweetheart, it will hard to top this gift. the florida aquarium is running a contest and the winner gets to surprise their valentine at work with a visit from one of these bad boys. a penguin is going to come to you. >> so cute. >> you can enter on the wednesday. next friday. >> i would like to see that.
