that when she heard he was accused of sexual battery. the report says the victim protested what the doctor was doing, he said he was checking for scar tissue and proceeded to batter her again. then the report says she tried to scream and the doctor forcefully kissed her so hard it split her bottom lip. >> it never even crossed my mind. he is a great surgeon. you know. me and myself and my family feel comfortable around him. >> reporter: late friday, the victim's attorney e-mailed this statement saying in part this is inexcusable, egregious conduct. in clearwater, rod carter, newschannel8. tonight, a tai kuan do instructor is facing charges of sexual molestation.

touched students while they were undressed. this is video posted to the facebook page. talk about a close call. a gun jam likely saved the life of a bay area man who came in between a woman and her jealous ex. >> reporter: a domestic dispute outside this doctor's office in lakeland could have turned deadly. it happened when gibson hyacinth went to confront his wife only to be confronted by her friend addison whiteside. >> he went there with jealousy and love and rage on his mind and the only thing that stopped him from killing addison was that his firearm for whatever reason wouldn't work. >> reporter: in this surveillance video, you can see hyacinth confront him. investigators say hyacinth showed his conceal carry permit and pulled out a gun and tried

as you can see in the video when he went back out, he was nearly run over by hyacinth as he ran away from the scene in lakeland, josh thomas, newschannel8. not a lot is left of a pontoon boat that caught fair off casey key in sarasota county. this is video sent to us by a viewer. sun person suffered smoke inhalation. workers could hardly believe their lives. they were being held up at gunpoint by an eight-year-old. surveillance video shows the child walking in with a motorcycle helmet on his head and a sweater covering his mouth. the boy said the f word and demanded money. a clerk quickly took the gun away from him. the state is not pressing charges but the boy must attend a diversion program. it has happened again. for the second time in as many days, gulf port city leaders closed the beaches and clam bayou.

off since august when they were forced to dump millions of gallons of untreated sewage into the bayou. they met with lawmaker to plead for help. >> we need the department of environmental protection in the southwest district and in tallahassee to take action. come down herement look at what is happening. take it seriously. we have an environmental disaster. >> state senator jeff brandis says he and other lawmakers are looking at possible solutions and the cost involved. right now, there is no time frame on a fix. after years of talking about talking, rays team officials sat down with tampa prep tampa bay leaders today to talk about a new stadium. tampa mayor bob buckhorn and ken hagan talked with the team saying any stadium deal would have to be primarily financed by the rays. >> any stadium deal will have to be primarily funded by the team and the private sector.

>> there is a bay area shelter dog who has been waiting years to be adopted. the workers there recently found a heart-wrenching message that they hope will inspire others to take him in. john rogers has the story. >> reporter: rufus is quite popular among the shelter staff here. even at ten years old, he is always energetic, excited, ands just happy to see you. some folks gave him a shot and adopted him. they brought him back. some said he wasn't a good fit.

despite the good news, hiring is slowing and some economists say we could be headed into an economic slowdown. get a mortgage. there is that bit of good news. the average interest on a 340 this week. your broken iphone may not be worthless afterall. apple is going to start offering something for those damaged phones. it will soon allow trade-ins on the iphone 5s, 6, and 6 plus even if the screen is cracked or the camera is malfunctioning. that is different from the current rules. they hope the move will encourage customers to trade up an buy a new phone. with the superbowl two days away, you might consider a new tv. this time of year, there are some good bargains out there.

more than a mile away. it puts particles in the atmosphere and the air is rapidly rising but the pictures that you see lightning related to a volcano are quite dramatic. that is in japan. superbowl forecast, that is actually in santa clara which is south of san francisco. probably closer to san jose. as for the weather there, looks pretty good as the carolina panthers taxon the broncos. 67 degrees. a comfortable night. great california night weather wise. for us, not too bad. a little cooler. clear skies, 54 degrees. mostly clear conditions. chilly if you are headed out. bring the jacket or sweater. 47 degrees to start the day. the jacket is a good idea as well to start the day. but perhaps a few clouds as the day progresses. 65 degrees. mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. some light showers favoring inland areas. 58 degrees right now. dew point, 23 degrees. very low dew points. same in saint petersburg.

20 miles an hour. the east wind coming across the bay. in the downtown area and saint petersburg, lit be very cool this evening. high pressure is a big feature. just off to the west, the flow around the high into the peninsula providing mostly clear conditions for us but you notice on the computer model later on this evening and certainly for tomorrow morning, this easterly flow will carry clouds our way with a slight possibility of showers favoring in those inland areas. but, the rain chances are a little bit better on the east coast themselves thanks to the stronger winds in that part of the state. mostly cloudy sky ins the afternoon. just slim rain chances as i mentioned but as we get into saturday evening, an area of low pressure will develop quickly off the east coast an race off to the northeast. but, counterclock wise flow around the low will help to drag in more cool air and essentially keep it cool here throughout our seven-day forecast which is right here. 65 degrees. for saturday. note the extra clouds tomorrow. for sunday, 60 degrees for a high.
