wall and she begins bleeding immediately. then, he pulls out his tazer. >> get on the ground, turn around. >> reporter: one critic on social media says the consequence of shoplifting is not supposed to be assault. others say she got what she deserved. >> when you look at the whole account, the deputy did an outstanding job. >> reporter: the sheriff think the woman's own actions resulted in her injury. >> she kept moving away. you can see it was a rodeo, a do see do. them. him trying to get ahold of her. >> reporter: she has been arrested many times before. >> this is not somebody whose first time was interaction with law enforcement. she has been to our jail. shoplifting, domestic battery. >> reporter: yeah, the sheriff points out that had this woman

for crooks across tampa bay, that data is as good as gold. >> i don't want to give him too much credit. but they are pretty good at their craft. >> reporter: police officers are tired of these skimmers stealing sensitive data. now they are being more proactive prying over the pumps and looking out for them. >> this one, this one. >> reporter: police officers will be helping these stations regularly. the problem is getting worse. >> in rare instances, they are able to use blue tooth devices to get realtime data. >> reporter: many of them have stickers to alert you if it is broken. >> if they are broken what do you do? >> we shut down the pump. >> reporter: but some thieves are crafty. >> so someone could break into this with a master key? >> yes. >> reporter: that is why the police need to check for themselves. it is an effort to stay one

>> an odd rescue in hillsborough county caught on camera. it all began when a man's sailboat capsized on a lake in seffner. someone saw what was going on and tried to help, but then his boat started to sink. in the end, sheriff deputies and firefighters inflated a boat, floated out and scooped the pair out of the water. nobody was injured. the shoreline might be pinellas county's most valuable asset and they are working to keep it that way. students and retirees pitched in to build oyster shell bars at bay vista park. they filled bags with fossilized shells and went on a
