like our publix bakery chantilly cake it'll be remembered for all the right reasons. publix. where shopping is a pleasure. good evening. the recent arrest of a pasco county woman has caused a flurry enseamed profited the sheriff's office to release the unedited bodycam video. it shows 29-year-old tiffany tebo taken to the ground after deputies say she resisted arrest. chip, the sheriff's office is defending this deputy's actions, right? >> reporter: well, the sheriff absolutely is.

tebo simply listened to the deputy and done what he said, none of this would have ever happened. instead, the sheriff's office is in the social media limelight. some praising the deputy. others believe he went too far. we want to warn you some of the video is graphic. she is confronted by a store employee and a pasco county deputy. >> i am not sure. >> what about this? >> reporter: things go south quickly. >> put your hands behind your back. i'm going put you on the ground. >> please! >> put your hands -- >> oh my god, okay! >> some resisting me. >> reporter: the arrest was controversial because as the deputy attempts to take tebo into custody, her head slams into a wall and she starts bleeding immediately. then he pulls out his taser. >> get on the ground. turn around. >> reporter: what do you think of this arrest?

reporting live ins pasco county. tonight dozens of guns are missing from a senior citizens home. police think they know who took them. the big question is, where did all the guns d go? st. petersburg police arrested gregly lewis. hail was in the hospital for a while around the first of the year and after a few days a friend checked on his house and found dozens of guns from hail's collection were missing and the home ransacked. only nine of the missing guns have been found. nearly 300 guns were reported stolen in st. petersburg last year, and most were swiped from cars. st. pete police are trying to combat the problem by reaching out to at-risk youth. they are also working with people who own guns. >> reporter: headline after headline teens killed or killing others on the streets of st. petersburg. a disturbing trend forming. >> three fatalities at the end

>> reporter: now a huge plan to combat those grim and growing statistics. reverend irvy a pastor and long time role model in st. pete hired by the city as the new community intervention director. it's a position created to ensure young felons are given the help they need to get their lives back on track. >> it's about world view expansion. exposure. children know what they know. as you said, they are very impressionable. we have to show them really relevant alternatives. >> reporter: he is one part of the plan. the other part providing these. gun locks to people who need them and want them. and vehicle anti-theft devices to help people secure their cars even more, since more than half the guns reported stolen in st. pete were stolen from cars. rod carter, news channel 8. last week we told you about rocky, a home runs man and another guy who put a picture of rocky online asking for help.

>> reporter: now they are back together again. this time they are not letting go. reporting in clearwater beach, news channel 8. one of the greatest golfers of all time is in the bay area today. not just to putter around. jack nicklaus appeared at the par 3 golf course to raise money for the first tee of lakeland. it teaches young people life skills through the game of golf. he showed the crowd how to putt before he hit the course. the golfing legend helped draw a crowd for good cause. >> first tee affords people that may not otherwise have an opportunity to be able to be introduced to golf. it allows them to be able to get introduced to golf. we have a life skills program that has nine core values in it. >> he joined other pro golfers on the course along with sometimes golfer and pro basketball player charles barkley. today's event raised nearly a

starting tomorrow it will be easier to go from the tampa river rock the channel district in davis island. late this afternoon the new pirate water taxis were kristined. they will run between 14 stops seven days a week. the mayor says it's yet another sign that the city is thriving. >> this is a city that literally is on fire and it is because of amenities like this. it's because of a downtown like that. it's because of a waterfront, our best asset. >> and here's the best part. you can buy a ticket on board and then hop on and off all day. tickets are usually $15, but this weekend an all-day pass is just $10. and i'm telling you what. if there was ever a weekend. >> yeah. >> that's gorgeous for that kind of activity, it would be this one? >> i think so. that's one of the things you

on wall street today the dow finished down 57 points. the s&p dropped 3 points. the nasdaq was up 8. "the biggest loser" on wall street today may have been oprah winfrey. shares of weight watchers plunged nearly 30% after the company announced an $11 million quarterly loss. oprah owns a 10% stake in the company and has been at the center of the recent advertising campaigns. a lawsuit over parmesan could mean serious cheddar for a plaintiff who is taking on walmart. the lawsuit claims walmart's brand of one hu% grated parmesan cheese actually contains 7 to 10% cellulose. walmart says it will review the claim and respond when appropriate. coupon cutters might not get as good a deal as macy's any more. they are no longer applying coupons to clearance items.

stack coupons and rack up big savings. the store allows coupons for full price and sale items. the price of a postage stamp is going down. you don't hear us say that very often. a stamp for a one ounce first class letter going from 49 cents to 47 cents:postal service was given permission to raise rates in 2014 so long as they reduce them in 2016. have you seen people going live on facebook? steve and i have done it, and at the moment if you have an android fun you can watch, but you can't broadcast. that's about to change. facebook announced today it's rolling out the live video feature to android users within the next week. look at the magic that you will be able to capture. you will see a live video icon at the top of the news feed. facebook says people watch live videos more than three times

there is something strange in the dessert aisle. when "ghostbusters" hits movie key lime slime twinkies. we have seen one photo so far. but it promises a spongy cake with a suspicious green glow. the movie comes out in july, so we're assuming the special then. well, don't want to hear dogs barking all night? now there is a weiner dog that can help. a japanese designer came up with earplugs that make it look like a very long, very tiny dachsund is running through the middle of your brain. the earplugs are for sale on the japanese website constant for the yen equivalent of $11 u.s. you can get a set of two pups to plug your ears.

down on credit card skimmers. officers are being proactive with gas station managers. john rogers he is tells us how you can help to catch these crooks. >> reporter: a swipe of a credit card only takes a second. in and out. in that quick moment that gas pump has access to your financial information and charge to your account. multiply that by all the people who visit gas pumps and that equates to a lot of accessed credit card information and for crooks across tampa bay that data is as good as cold. >> well, i don't want to give them too much credit. they are pretty good at their craft. >> sarasota police officers are tired of these hidden skimmers stealing sensitive data. so now they are being more proactive, meeting with gas station owners to pry open the pumps and look out for them. >> i look for all connection here. this one, this one, this one. >> reporter: police officers will be helping the stations regularly because the problem is

trending towards less windy conditions. that wind direction is going to continue to the come from the north. that's a cool direction for us. sunshine under high pressure though. 52 degrees tampa international. dewpoint 38 degrees with a northwest wind in st. petersburg. a little bit warmer, but fairly cool if you are going to be out this evening. that's our feature back to the west and the flow around that clockwise flow giving us the normal flow and hardly a cloud in the sky for today. that likely had be the case this weekend, especially because that area of high pressure will continue to shift over us. so if you are going to be out this evening as we said many times, dress warmly. morning, too. cold conditions. temps in the 30s and 40s. some patchy frost is possible because winds are lighter. this is a cold dense air mass at the moment. the over us. so that definitely will mean lighter wind conditions. so sunday morning is still very cold as well. as that high continues to shift, we will see more of an east and southeastly flow. that starts the warming trend

it seems like art critics are programmed like certain things and hate others. it's like they're robots. and it's specially true of one particular critic. look at him. the barren son robot wears a hat and strolls the exhibits of an art museum in paris quietly passing judgment. he monitors human visitors watching their reaction to particular pieces of art and develops the data to its own unique. if he likes it, he smiles. if he doesn't, frowns. a good bottle of beer can be relaxing, but so can a whole tub full. a spa offers a soak in beer, hops and barley.
