good evening. i'm jennifer leigh. >> and i'm josh benson. we begin with continuing coverage of breaking news in pinellas county. we are over the school bus crash, happening at east lake road at tarpon woods boulevard. the driver of the other vehicle was not injured as well. but we will bring you more becomes available. now to a critical day for the presidential candidates. polls begin to close in an hour and a half in some of the super tuesday states and this fight could be over on both sides if donald trump or hillary clinton win big tonight. candace mccowan joins us now

>> reporter: there were many who were hoping but realistically it's a long shot. outside of an early voting location in temple terrace, some voters know the candidate that they voted for could very well not be in the race two weeks from now. >> afraid that everybody is going to vote for trump. >> yeah. >> reporter: 12 states this super tuesday will have a huge impact on this primary. if polls prove correct, donald trump could win in most states taking a large portion of the delegates. >> i think we will see some surprises, certainly in texas where ted cruz is projected to win, we may see marco perform better than expected in places like virginia. >> reporter: jonathan tourist from the hillsborough republican party believes tonight no matter what happens, this might be the end of the road for some but not all of trump's opponents. >> i think we will see more than likely governor governor kasich drop out by then.

waiting on results, clinton supporters are already anticipating the fight after the primaries. >> can you imagine what a debate between those two will look like? he is not going to be able to get away with one liners and dismissing her, for certain. >> reporter: republicans thinking ahead also worry their front runner might keep some voters at home. >> unfortunately because of some of the recent controversy with trump's statements, i think that's going to encourage some people to stay home and probably stay out of that particular race. >> reporter: and governor kasich reassured his supporters today that he will stay in the race. speaker paul ryan today speaking out against any candidate who won't condemn hate groups. obviously that was directed at donald trump. not sure if it will have an impact. jen. >> it is definitely getting even more interesting by the day. two weeks until our primary but we see voting happens in some areas. >> the way to think about it is what one of those supervisor of elections told me that march

many have started as we saw today and florida would be a huge win for whichever candidate they would take -- that would take all of the delegates. >> candace mccowan live in our tampa news center. thank you. from facebook posts to tweets, even what you search in google it's influencing this year's election, and candidates are reacting. news channel 8's lindsey mastis continues our team coverage. she shows us how data online could affect your vote. >> reporter: we have seen donald trump and florida senator marco rubio go at it on social media and that's because they know more and more voters are getting their information online so it's no surprise super tuesday is trending today and guess what? everything posted or searched for online is being monitored. let's look at google, the search engine keeps track of questions about candidates. in the past 24 hours the big question facing donald trump is about the ku klux klan. others are asking how senator ted cruz made his money, and people want to know is senator

can search tell us anything about a candidate's chance of winning? >> we can just get a look at what people are thinking about and what they care about but not really a look at whether or not they will win the election. >> reporter: candidates are also keeping an eye on social media, after big events including debates it will show which candidates got the most new followers, even top tweeted moments. and candidates often feel compelled to respond to virtual mud slinging. >> a guy with the worst spray tan in america is attacking me for putting on makeup. >> reporter: that's in response to the pic trump posted on twitter. facebook keeps track of data too, including hot topics. the top conversations involve christianity, the economy and jobs, racism and discrimination, immigration and taxes. you can tell when something is a big deal because it trends online and as the super tuesday results come in, we are going to start to very, very vividly what voters think and how candidates are reacting.

ranks third in the nation for the number of cases. and now one bay area county is taking steps to break people away from the vicious cycle and provide information about help at their workplace. starting right now, certain businesses in pinellas county are required to post signs about human trafficking with a toll-free number to call if anybody needs help. news channel 8's peter bernard is live in largo. what kinds of places have to post these signs? >> reporter: there is a specific list, josh. take a look at that sign. here's what it looks like right here. it's bold, black and white, it has to be at strip joints, massage parlors and nail salons. the list includes work that typically employs people against their will. >> reporter: across parts of pinellas county, strip clubs entice customers with promises of nude or seminude dancers and while none of the places shown here are accused of any crimes, social service agencies know exotic dancers are sometimes forced to work by off stage pimps.

scared and they want to leave but it's hard, it's very hard. >> reporter: tranay gale owns an organization that works with troubled young people. >> i was helping a young girl who had a boyfriend who would sell her to supply the drugs and for a roof and food over her head, that's what she had to do. >> reporter: a new law requires this sign must be posted at nude clubs, massage parlors and nail salons. >> should be at least one copy visible to the public as well as the employees. >> reporter: the signs refer readers to the national human trafficking resource center. >> we want to make sure that people who may be impacted by human trafficking, maybe their family members or the people themselves know there are resources out there that they can connect to. >> reporter: i checked a number of strip clubs and found not one had the signs out where i could see them. none would go on camera. some had different versions found in an adult magazine. a few told me they posted them in a dressing room. good but are not what the law says. >> the real goal of this is to help make sure that the

are going to do everything we into compliance. >> reporter: there is a hammer associated with this law. a business can be fined if they don't comply but that's a last alternative. it takes only about 30 seconds to get that sign and you have to go to the pinellas county website to do that. however, we have made it easy josh. >> sounds good but peter why the nail salons on the list? that too. apparently, what i found out, in other states nail salons have also been an attraction for people who are in -- who have a problem with this situation so they are going to be proactive in this country, get -- county, get ahead of the game. the diamond doles behind me -- dolls behind me, not associated with any kind of illegal activity. we are here because it's one of the nude places in town. >> hoping this can make a difference. peter bernard live for us in largo. thank you. the search on for the person who stole money from a florida girl scout.

cookies outside a deltona walmart. according to police, this guy walked up to the scout's table, took her cash box and ran off. the sheriff's office didn't say how much money was stolen. deputies are working to track the man down now. and caught on a surveillance camera, an suv plows into a sushi restaurant in doral. the driver says he was trying to park when he hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. his range rover crashed through the front of the soak high restaurant which sustained at least $50,000 in damages. fortunately no customers were inside at the time. can you imagine if there would have been? the man was charged with reckless driving as well as driving without a license. a warning tonight about super lice. >> the itchy insects are becoming a big problem for students and doctors have new recommendations for getting rid of them. we are going to show you what to do coming up. and spring is in the air. now is a good time to spruce up your budget. we have some tips to get you started coming up.

a spreadsheet to keep track of spending. to see exactly where your money is going. well, this next story may bug you a little. super lice are now a problem in 25 states and of course florida is one of those. the lice have become resistant to many common forms of treatment. news channel 8's jeff patterson joins us live in tampa. what are people doing about this? i get kind of itchy talking about it. >> reporter: just kind of subconscious. good evening. this can be a problem for any parent, lice can spread at the playground, at school, even at home and some parents are spending big bucks for treatments that just aren't working. lice can make your skin crawl, literally. >> super lice is a problem in florida. >> reporter: dr. christina candy is a -- can adye -- over

everything from olive oil to mayonnaise to kill lice. >> if you pull out all the nits, it help. it can help a little bit. what you have to do is kill the lice and kill their eggs. >> reporter: professional nitpickers, the people who take lice eggs out of your hair can charge hundreds of dollars. the treatments don't always work but there is hope. >> the prescriptions that we have now are effective in treating super lice and some are as simple as putting a lotion on dry hair for 10 minutes and washing it out. >> reporter: another treatment that doesn't involve drugs or chemicals is heat. >> bugs are not going to grow resistant to heat. >> reporter: michelle cherry opened a lice treatment business in south tampa after she and her daughter got lice. >> we used every lice service within 100 miles of here and i spent a couple of buckets of money and we still had lice. >> reporter: she finally found a treatment in jacksonville

sun city center but overall a beautiful day. we have been talking about the warm temps in some of the inland areas and 70s have been fairly common but we have also seen low 80s in some of the inland areas, southwest winds now at 5 miles per hour. basically variable and light. a little bit of movement here with the tree but again at the lake club it looks very nice. astronaut scott kelly is coming home after a year in space at 8:05 p.m. the spacecraft undocking, it will deorbit at 10:32 and land in kazakhstan at 11:25 p.m. for the last year, spectacular photos, tweets sent from space just absolutely incredible, the aurora borealis, that's manhattan with central park right there. that was his last year in space and he's coming home today. kind of studying him, almost like a human guinea pig for a potential mars mission down the road. 69 degrees, a few clouds, still warm and again we are talking about mostly high clouds here for us. tomorrow morning we will see increasing clouds as a front approaches the area and then

hours we will push on through to the south. we will see the winds switch out of the north so that should draw in slightly cooler temperatures for a short period of time. 74 degrees tampa international. our dew point 56 but overall the winds light. they are in many cases coming out of the west-southwest ahead of this approaching front. 74 degrees downtown st. pete, 74 in tampa, upper 70s in lakeland, wimauma, 72 degrees crystal river, st. pete 73 degrees. you can see the cooler air dipping into the northern part of the country. actually have snow showers across the northern part of the u.s. right up in the u.p. and the lower peninsula of michigan today so you like to contrast that with our florida weather with temperatures in the 70s through this period. cold front dipping into the northern portion of the country, you can see low pressure here north and south, high pressure across the south and you can see the snow occurring here, wisconsin, michigan moving across sections of the great lakes, farther south you actually have rain moving through sections of the south with high pressure. quite a few high clouds

we are talking about the upper level winds that are fairly strong coming in here from the west so we will continue to see those high clouds as this cold front approaches the area and that front will approach the area for tomorrow. more clouds, not much rain in the forecast, we have about a 10% chance with some extra clouds as they move into the area. more clouds, not much rain, settle up for a very nice thursday, quiet forecast. the front is moving cooler temperatures behind the front itself. forecast low temperature of 61 degrees. so again fairly mild conditions through this period. but then we are going to cool down as we get into thursday morning. dropping to 53 degrees for thursday. 74 degrees and 74 also for friday, rain chances 10% with another weak front on friday. that sets up a beautiful weekend. temps don't change too much with either one of these cold fronts. in fact, we trend warmer long term. many areas by next week will be well into the 80s and looks like we will hold onto those warmer temperatures for a while.

now to what's making headlines across america. south carolina teacher quit her job after a student spread naked pictures of her throughout the school. the teacher had taken volunteer teens photos with her phone -- valentine's photos with her phone showing herself partially nude. according to her, a student took her phone off her desk while she was patrolling the halls during class change. an ohio teenager who investigators say opened fire inside of a school could be tried as an adult. 14-year-old james austin hancock facing several charges including attempted murder. he brought a gun to school and opened fire inside the cafeteria. four students hurt but expected to be okay. apparently even self- driving cars can cause fender benders. one of google's self-driving vehicles was partially
