years, peyton manning says good- bye to professional football. good evening, i'm jennifer leigh. >> i'm keith cate. thank you for joining us tonight. marco rubio doing all he can to stay relevant in the white house. he's about to address a crowd of supporters in tampa. next week could be do or die, when florida voters go to the poll to vote in the presidential primary. candace mccowan joining us live in tampa. she's at the rally. and i know rubio feels good about his primary win in puerto rico. this could be all-for-naught if he can't win his home state on tuesday. >> reporter: absolutely. definitely a crucial win for him, and that's why he's going to be so busy in florida throughout this week, in tampa today, and seminole county later this evening, and back in sarasota tomorrow. rubio is expected to take the podium here in just a little bit. i also saw costco county sheriff chris knocko here, and he's going to take the stand before rubio comes up.

few minutes, talking to him a little bit about the changes in this campaign so far, and here's what he had to tell me. senator rubio, we were with you in iowa and new hampshire, your demeanor has changed so much if the -- in the past few weeks. are you proud of where this campaign has gone. >> i'm happy with my campaign. i'm not happy with donald trump's language and there's a time you have to stand up to him and set the record straight. by and large, my demeanor is the same. i'm campaigning on a new american century, how great america can be in the future if we do what needs to be done. i'm not appealing to anger and frustration. we should let that motivate us, but the conservative movement cannot let anger define us. we have a party of optimism, and we have a reason to be optimistic if we can beat hillary clinton. >> reporter: and senator rubio, obviously playing it cool about the importance of florida, but we know just how important it

they're giving the media to him at this point. he is getting in front of every camera possible so he can reach as many voters as possible. again, he should be addressing this crowd here at any moment before heading to seminole later this evening. hillary clinton expected here in tampa on thursday, in ybor city. >> if he doesn't win florida, it's pretty much over, not only would he have to win florida, he has to win ohio. the numbers don't look good going forward. ted cruz and donald trump asking him to back out. did he say anything about maybe looking beyond super tuesday or super super tuesday as it's called now. >> reporter: he told us he's still looking to campaign in all 50 states and not backing out. that's the story he's sticking to at this point. like you said, so many people saying that even if he wins florida, next week, that is going to be a large hill for him to climb to get to the nomination. >> candace mccowan live in

we're going to check back with you in a half hour and see what else the senator has to say. thank you. voters in both parties will be casting ballots in michigan and mississippi tomorrow. republican voters will also be voting in hawaii, and idaho. florida's primary is on march 15 march 15th. early voting is going on right now. last time i checked, more than a million people voted in florida. we posted everything you need to know on wfla.com. hulk hogan is in the st. petersburg courtroom suing the web site gawker for a hundred million dollars. hogan who's real name is terry balea, claims it ruined his life, publishing a sex tape that shows him having sex with his ex-wife. he told the jury but a but -- bubba was his best friend and the release of the tape devastated him. >> i was embarrassed what it did to me as a person. it was even embarrassing as a character.

>> hogan was the first witness on the stand today telling the jury about his life growing up in tampa, and his early days in wrestling. jurors are deliberating erin andrews lawsuit, suing stalker michael barrett and the owner and former operator of the nashville marriott. andrews is asking for $75 she is, by the way, the daughter of 8 on your side andrews. a polk county man is being accused of passing himself off as a doctor and treating patients without a license. news channel 8's outside man well cordova's license, jamel? >> reporter: that's right, keith, we call the numbers on the door and a woman who answered the phone say they will be no longer practicing business here, but investigators say that cordova

with conditions such as high cholesterol, kidney problems and erectile dysfunction, elements that he said he could treat with natural remedies. doors will closed monday and will most likely remain that way. the 76-year-old was charged with practicing without a license. >> we have done a couple of days worth of surveillance, and did an undercover operation to, you know, finded probable cause that he was doing that. >> reporter: the florida department of health along with the haines city police department became suspicious after hearing cordova offered medical all of a sudden vice on a span -- advice on a spanish radio station. his treatment plan consisted of natural remedies. in one room on the law, a list of cordova's so called credentials, but the state says he doesn't hold any type of health care licenses.

>> he's not in right now. >> reporter: a woman claiming to be his daughter did not want to talk. the building manager -- what do you know about him? >> the only thing i know, he that's it. >> reporter: we were told there sign nondisclosure forms confirming that he's not a doctor. i don't know. >> reporter: he eventually walked away. i can still talk to you from here. >> i don't want to talk anything. it's none of our business. >> reporter: so cordova has since bonded out. he facings two counts of practicing without a -- faces two counts of practicing without a license and scheming to defraud. >> looked like a lot of certificates plastered all over the walls there. what about the credentials, do you know where they're from? >> reporter: like you said, he had plenty of them on the wall.

and some don't even exist. as for his degree, the clayton college of natural health, that's where he allegedly got his degree from. that is a nonaccredited online school which has since closed. >> thank you. reagan. she died sunday at the age of 94 and is being remembered across the globe. we have a look at mrs. reagan's legacy. mark. >> you can imagine the tributes as you were talking about continue to pour in. we are learning more in the last few hours of how she'll be remembered. there's going to be a funeral at her husband's presidential library on friday in semi valley california. the public will pay their respects on wednesday and thursday. there was plenty of the controversy while she was in the white house but she is being remembered of course for her husband's legacy, and all she did for americans.

lady, loving wife and advocate for alzheimer's research, nancy reagan leaves behind a legacy unlike any other. how will you remember nancy reagan. >> as always being extremely supportive to her husband. >> reporter: end of an era, because of reagan's legacy and so on. >> reporter: president obama speaking kindly of a woman who knew all too well the pains and pressures of the west wing. >> could not have been more gracious and charming to myself and michelle when we first came into office. >> reporter: the reagan's legacy from china, experts like lisa katherine grady say offer a glimpse into the reagan revolution. >> nancy reagan approached the job as she approached everything in her life, in a very head-on, forthright kind of way. >> reporter: often described as guarded and overly protective of her husband, mrs. reagan lived in constant fear for the president's safety, especially after the 1981 assassination attempt on his life. >> the fact that she was this

she left there at the end of the 80s. she became a big crusaders in the research for alzheimer's. it went against her party with the stem cell debate. when president obama took office in 09, she went out there to specifically thank the president for expanding that research, but she was a die hard republican, for instance, she hosted the republican candidates at the library both in 2012 and not so long ago, she made an appearance at the debate in 2012 but couldn't make it this past time because of her health. someone republicans will be talking about as this election continues. >> a first lady with a lot of impact. live in our dc bureau, thank you. a skimmer threat at the gas pump. >> how crooks are now using blue tooth skimmers to steal your credit card number. >> great. also ahead tonight, peyton manning hanging up the jersey after 18 years in the nfl. we sort of knew it was coming.

peyton manning made it official today, the two time super bowl winning quarterback is retiring from the nfl. over the course of his 18 year career, manning also racked up five most valuable player trophies. he also owns the record for 28 interceptions as a rookie. manning used today's speech to deny allegations that he harassed a female trainer at the university of tennessee in 1996. he also said he will always miss football. >> when someone thoroughly exhausts an experience, they can't help but revere it. i revere football.

so you don't have to wonder if i'll miss it. absolutely. absolutely i will. >> peyton ended his news conference with his famous catch phrase, omaha, manning would often yell omaha at the line of scrimmage to let his team know the direction of play was changing. >> going to miss him, peyton manning. deputies have uncovered a disturbing new crime trend in sarasota county. they have found credit card discriminators that can be accessed remotely by blue tooth. 8 on your side's john rogers joining us live from sarasota to tell us about these threats, so these crooks don't have to be near the pump. they can be sitting around out of eyeball's view and do it. >> yeah, conceivably, they could be sitting in their car, yards away from the gas station pump, with a computer, just downloading all of that sensitive data, and take a look where this happened. this intersection is very busy, right near an interstate, likely a lot of cars went to the gas station over there, and

devices had been there for weeks.. sarasota county deputies say on sunday a report came in that two credit card skimmers were found at this mobile gas station at the intersection of cattlemen and fruitville roads. these were equipped with blue tooth. >> they don't have to go and retrieve the skimmer to get the information collected in it. they can hook up remotely, 30 feet, maybe a little bit further away and they can retrieve the information. >> reporter: they can simply download all of the sensitive credit card data onto a laptop or device without ever touching the pump. >> you know, they wouldn't have to be on the gas station property. >> reporter: and get this, these devices were likely sitting inside those pumps for two weeks. how were these not spotted for two weeks. >> they're hard to see. they're inside the gas pumps and if you don't know what you're looking for, if you see

>> reporter: daniel berelli is aware of the growing problem so he's on the look out. >> the only way to really tell is look for the tape, the stuff in there is not taped. nothing in there is taped. >> reporter: he has not had skimmers at his station but he's not taking chances. he's upgrading the camera system, and checks for damage three times a day. >> you're going above and beyond to make sure your pumps are okay. >> absolutely. you have to. you know, if you're not doing that, you're putting yourself and your customers at risk. >> reporter: officials say if you have been to the gas station over the past couple of weeks, make sure you're checking your bank statements, call your bank if you have concerns and if you are pumping gas, look over the gas pump to see if there's signs of tampering. >> they are crafty. how are nay installing the skimmers without anybody seeing them at all. >> reporter: they're very slick. some will do it at night,

and one that's scary may have a master key that can access pretty much any gas pump imaginable. >> i'm glad the guy at the gas station is doing what he can to stop it and others following suit. we need all the help we can get. thank you, john rogers, in sarasota county. >> i almost give up. i go to a gas pump, i don't know what i'm looking for. i'm just looking, you don't know until it happens to you. >> so frustrating that people will steal what others have worked so hard for. you came back yesterday. >> i spent a weekend in the tennessee where it was in the 30s. now it's better. >> this weekend was amazing. >> we talked about that going into the weekend, how sweet it would be, sunday, especially, if the sun was out. a few clouds on saturday. overall, a very nice one. the next couple of days, the warming trend that we talked about, too, is definitely headed our way. you can see the view from the strawberry festival, not too bad. a great weekend in plant city. 81 degrees at #-- 3:00 p.m. a warm afternoon.

great weather for the strawberry festival if you're headed out that way. and our temperatures will continue to stay mild throughout the evening hours, as we mentioned the warm highs forecast for the area. our 8-day forecast says the temps will be near 80 degrees on tuesday. 83 wednesday. 83 for thursday, and long-term temps drop back into the upper 70s. we have a rain chance here. we're timing out, the computer model having issues with guessing the exact date for this. generally saturday looks to be the timing right now for showers, potential thunderstorms, carrying possibly into sunday. and slightly cooler behind that. overall you can see the average line there, 75 degrees. we're in the warm stuff the rest of the week. spring breakers will love this. 71 degrees at 7:00 p.m. 69 degrees at 8:00 p.m. temperatures, upper 60s at 10:00 p.m. 65 degrees at 1:00 a.m. 64 degrees at 2:00 a.m. low 60s through this period. sunshine to start the day at # a.m. a nice day. we will see a few clouds around. overall, should be pleasant weather conditions if not a

78 degrees, current temperature. tampa international, a dew point 516789 we have an -- 51. 75 degrees in new port richey. 70 in treasure island. 78 in river view. these temps are warm, and as i mentioned throughout the week, we'll definitely see temperatures crawl back up into progresses. a big picture, we look at the jet stream to determine what's going to happen in our forecast at the surface in florida. story. and we see this ridge of high pressure and a strong ridge at the surface, it blocks any kind of storm systems, like this area of low pressure back to the west of us with rain moving through the bay area. that's what's happening here throughout the rest of the week, all the way in fact to the weekend until we start to see the ridge break down a little bit, the area of low pressure get closer to us. that's where the rain chance is coming from. dominate. high clouds across the area, and you can see them on the visible satellite imagery, too. high pressure will be the feature all weekend long, but the flow around the high is

a new survey finds less than half of american businesses have adopted the credit card chip technology that's supposed to fight fraud. 37% of businesses are currently able to accept chip enabled credit and debit cards. the survey included 92 payment service providers that service more than 3.9 million merchants. retailers, credit card companies and merchants were supposed to adopt the technology by last october 1st, or face penalties. well, mac users might not be as safe as they think. according to security researchers, malicious software called ransom wear has successfully targeted apple computers for the very first time. palo alto network said it

systems friday. ransom wear locks users out of their devices until they pay. apple took steps to protect users after being alerted. amazon plans to open a second brick and mortar store. the first store opened in seattle in november. now there are plans for the second store. this is going to be in san diego. the stores sell books as well as computer tablets and other devices, opening day is set for this summer. and a spa in oregon is soaking up attention as the nation's first beer spa. it's called hop in the spa. don't you love that. customers are able to fully immerse themselves in hops infused treatment, including body wraps, facial scrubs and micro brew soak. it involves taking locally brewed beer, rendering it into a solid, grinding it up and using it as part of a bath brew. there you go. jennifer leigh and josh benson. if you're out and about and think you know what i need to be doing is soaking in beer. >> smell like beer.
