a child has been hit in a drive by shooting. >> the three-year-old girl sitting on the front porch of a home with a 23-year-old man. we are going live to paul mueller. what have you found out? >> reporter: jenn and josh, a lot of breaking details. this is an intense scene right now. look at it all. in front of your very eyes. this is tenth avenue south and 12th street south, you can see police have blocked several area blocks off here now. i want you to take a look at the house. that is where this 23-year-old man identified as terrell hollinton and the three-year- old. they were another the porch when a car drive right on down the street and fired several gunshots into the porch. since that time police have been here in force. the mayor is here now.

the assistant chief of police is here now. a lot of questions, motive, why would someone want to do this? was the person targeted? that is another question too. and you have the question everybody is asking this afternoon. why would someone want to shoot a three-year-old girl? i spoke with several members of the three-year-old's family. >> i think it is really screwed up you shoot a baby. it is really screwed up you didn't care about anybody in that house whether it was kids, whether it was old people. i think that is really sad. you are a coward and you need to be put in prison. >> reporter: there you have it, harsh words from one of the family members who shot the 23- year-old and her three-year-old niece's niece. right now, very fluid.

possibly a dodge charger. the three-year-old and the 23- year-old are at bay front with nonlife threatening injuries. that's the good news. >> paul, you confirmed this happened a couple of hours ago, but just to reconfirm, no motive yet in the shooting? >> reporter: no motive yet. in situations like this, obviously, it is a very fluid situation. i asked the public information officer. i said, this must be a race for you guys. it is still daylight. obviously, to look for evidence. you see all these evidence markers there on the street. a race to look for evidence possibly shell casings from the bullets and a race to find witnesses. they are going to be very methodical as they are in all shootings but this one in particular since it involves a poor little helpless three-year- old girl. guy s? >> paul mueller, thank you. let's turn to the weather today.

endorsed ted cruz. now, he is a friend of ted cruz's but had been out campaigning for rubio. rubio has only run two of 24 primary states. florida is crucial for him. there are 99 delegates for him to win here. one tampa bay mayor is rubio. bob buckhorn has been clear about his supported of hillary clinton, but in miami, he wasn't talking about the former florida's marco rubio. >> i have never met him. years. he has been a senator for four. he has never come to tampa to ask how he can help. i understand he's a busy guy, but you would think in the

representing florida, he would be interested in what tampa's issues are. >> reporter: buckhorn made the seam comments on msnbc. it is a comment rubio could have done without as he is trailing by 16 points according to a new cnn poll behind donald trump in florida. >> it tells the story of his time as the senator from florida. he really hasn't been here. hasn't paid much attention to the state. >> reporter: rubio says it will come down to florida when it comes to his run for the white house and he has been holding rallies hoping to sway voters but buckhorn doesn't think it will make a difference. >> i think he is going to lose. he will have to make that choice. >> reporter: and we reached out to senator rubio's campaign to ask him what they had to say about tampa mayor buckhorn's comments. they are waiting to see how he debates. he has a lot of work to do in

only heating up from there. a great beach day. no rain frayed. rain chances saturday nearly as low. it will be partly cloudy through the day. a little more cloud cover on saturday. but we are keeping our rain chances at only 10%. so maybe a stray shower pops up. other than that, it's looking dry. as we head into sunday, this system off to the west finally really started to make some progress. as we head into sunday, we will see some showers developing but it doesn't look like we will see widespread downpours so the pollen count which i know a lot of you have been complaining about because of the allergies, they will stay high all the way into next week. rain chances sunday go up to 40%. possibly, we could have a few still. >> we can all agree people who are overly self-involved are around.

it turns out, we may be nurturing a hoard of them on social media. so how do you know if you are a social media narcissist? it's a great topic. 8 on your side has answers. joining me now is jonathan sellers from illuminate local. when we think social media, the selfie game. there are some narcissistic aspects to this. >> nearly everyone on social media talking about yourself is narcissistic in itself to a small extent. >> right. so why is this behavior on social media risky? >> as you said, it doesn't affect a lot of other people so a lot of times it goes unchecked. outside, people are not really checking. they don't really know what you are doing or how it is affecting other people. you can bad habits and no one knows. then one day no one wants to

they may not say anything else at all. >> what are the signs of these tendencies? >> there are five things very common for people showing the narcissistic behaviors. the first is selfies. if you are always posting selfies. they like the way they look or what they are doing. the second one is a little less common and a lot of people may feel this one. that is the social media addicts. the person who is on social media all the time. they are not doing anything, but they are just watching. all the time. and so, they just know everything that is going on. third, we have people who love to argue. on. election. really controversial statement and watch it explode. oversharers. this is an old one. the people who post their meals. everything they are doing in their life. and you have the people who go out of their way to show how

store for a refund. and a small race that started in safety harbor has turned into thousands of runners lacing up to benefit all children's hospital. it is so big that saint petersburg wants it to be held in the streets of the beautiful waterfront city. gayle guyardo met one little patient that could inspire you. >> reporter: thousands of runners will for the first time congregate here at the hospital and the run is going to take place through the streets of downtown saint petersburg. and it is all fun for the children. >> twinkle tingle, tingle, little star. how i know what you are! >> reporter: singing like a little angel playing with her toys, two-year-old chloe grimes lights up her room at the children's hospital. she is fighting a rare cancer. thousands of runners are gearing up to help her and

>> it is amazing. the overwhelming feeling of support in our community alone. i mean, everyone comes together and they all have the same goal in mind. you know, to help kids like chloe and other kids battling these harsh diseases. and it is really an inspiration. >> reporter: these are pictures from last year's running for all children race organized by brian and tara powers. they lost a twin at an orlando hospital, but now, their other twin is at all children's. >> she is a thriving sixth-year- old, a beautiful little girl. >> you have to be thankful for the things you do have and focus on the things you do have and not the things you don't. so it is a great opportunity just to say thank you for what we do have. >> reporter: race medical director dr. patrick believes community support is key to the hospital's success. >> we are a large city hospital in a relatively small city. it is because of the people that live around here.

investigators and top brass are arriving. they are all saying enough is enough. we are fed up with the gun violence. you can see the police have this area corded off for blocks. not just this street here, 12th street south, but this street as well. you can see investigators in action right now. this after a drive-by shooting happening at around 2:00 this afternoon. i want you to take a look at all of those evidence markers on the ground right now. let's go ahead and look at the video. this is from about right after that shooting took place. around 2:00. the house that you see, that is where the three-year-old girl, little jayla, and a 2-year-old terrell holliman were sitting with family when a dodge charger came by. a neighbor heard fireworks go off and she called 911. now the investigation in its early stages.

through the day and a mild friday evening. temperature ins the mid 70s . definitely not a need for a jacket. temperatures in the mid 80s across the board. we are at 85 in brooksville. 86 in weeki wachee. a little milder along the coast when we have the breeze coming in off the gulf. 79 in clearwater. saint pete, 75 currently in venice. here's the story. you can see quiet conditions across the entire state of florida. that's thanks to this region of high pressure that is sitting on of the of us. it is why we haven't seen any rain for the last week or so. but out west, it is a different story. that area of high pressure is keeping the storm systems over places like texas, louisiana, mississippi. you can see more rain streaming across the region this afternoon. they are picked up hefty rainfall totals. you can see as you head northwest louisiana. parts of that area have seen about a foot of rain. this system will break away and

but a much weaker when it does so. pretty quiet. a mix of sun and clouds as you wake up tomorrow morning. temperatures in the mid 60s . by tomorrow afternoon, we are starting off again reaching back into the mid 80s . great beach weather for you. by saturday morning, it will be a warm start. mid 60s . then expect more cloud cover. rain chances on saturday, nearly out of the forecast. just that slim 10% chance of a few sprinkles or a passing afternoon shower. it is sunday where we see the system make some progress. we will see some showers through the day. mainly in the middle of the day, it looks like it is not going to rain all day. but that's the best chance of rain. the grand prix that day, we could be seeing rain during the lingering showers into monday morning. then staying dry and warm through much of next week. >> all right. thank you julie.
