a gorgeous afternoon. you can see from frenchies at clearwater beach enjoying the sunshine. no rain expected for the rest of this evening. temperatures sit nothing the low 70s with our -- sitting in the low 70s with winds at 10 miles-per-hour. temperatures for most of us reached back into the mid-80s again this afternoon. 84 in temple terrace. 84 in loots. 85 currently in pa nel inellas park and you can see temperatures inland reaching into the 80s as well. 82 in lakeland and 8 4 in invernus. cloudy skies around. temperatures above average in winds will be light out of the southeast, but this area of high pressure that's been in control for the past week keeping us dry, it's going to give in weekend and the rain you see out west will move in.

hit a 3-year-old girl and a 23-year-old man sitting on the porch. the man is okay and the hospital today. us 41 and loots will be repaired. it has those worried about the resulting traffic. jim alana went to find out where you can find relief through detours. >>reporter: if you use highway 41, you may want to use another route come monday because the florida department of transportation, they are closing down this roadway, and that's because they have to do repairs to the railroad closings, which you see further up the street here. that's something that needs to be done and they're doing that along with a cxx. now, there's only several detours and that's going east over to livington or west. the only way to get there is through these side streets, and that's what has residents upset.

by sunday, we see rain move in, but nothing like what our friends in see everyday. take a look at those are large fish that you're looking at switching in the street at the university of louisiana monroe. according to the guy who shot the video, the fisher cart storms are pounding the area. you have been -- causing extensive flooding from texas through louisiana and mississippi. thankfully the rain is finally expected to let up by tomorrow as it moves east, and take a look at the rainfall totals that we've seen. you can see a wide spread five to date 8 inches in eastern texas. as you head into louisiana and mississippi, we see spots that have seen over a foot of rain since monday. this area has been hit hard. we may need time to dry out. we're happy to report the rain is letting up as we head into this weekend. but this system is going to shift further east.

spring break is going on. so things looking descent for this weekend. i want to remind you, the time change begins as you head to bed saturday night, set the clocks forward an hour, and of course, the grand prix going on in st. pete on sunday. this is a huge event and i wish we had a better forecast for you, but it does look like we'll see some rain during the course of this race. scattered showers possible at around 12:00 p.m. i think by the afternoon hours, most of the rain will push east, but there is still a chance we could see lingers showers, so this race -- the races may be delayed until later on sunday. stay tuned for that. when you wake up tomorrow morning, nice start to your saturday. we're in the upper 60s to begin the day and we'll warmup quickly topping back out in the low 80s by the afternoon hours. a slim 10% chance of showers on saturday afternoon. it is possible we could see a stray shower, but rain should not be a
