5:33 pm
and the sanders campaign also likes its chances in illinois. there's been a shift in momentum there. on the republican side, ohio governor john kasich is ahead slightly over donald trump in his home state. the polls have had kasich consistently ahead. now, if rubio falls in florida, ohio is critical to the stop trump movement as it diminishing trump's chances of getting the nomination before the gop convention. in north carolina, and illinois, look for a trump cruz battle. and the take away from all of this besides florida, the key race to watch out for tonight is on the gop side between donald trurump and john kasich. keep it right here for the most complete coverage. in washington, jim osman, newschannel8. meanwhile, president obama has yet to endorse e one of the democratic candidates for president. >> but hehe had plenty to say about the tone of the republican campaign during a saint patrick's event earlier today. during a lunch with irish

running, one that is positive, a sharp contrast. none of the negative rhetoric. he said he felt good about his chances and one point of note is he says if he does not win tonight, he will be forced to exit the race for the white house. the last night i had an opportunity to attend a pre- election day party where i was able to talk to one of his supporters. they say he is the right man to be the president of the united states. citing his previous record as a member of congress and of course during his six years as governor here in the state of ohio. again, a must-win for our governor here in ohio. one that currently right now, he should take. reporting live, candace lee, nbc4. >> thank you candace for the latest. we will have continuing live team coverarage of the florida primary throughout the night t including an hour long election special at 8:00 p.m.
