>> she was just spot son. >> reporter: karin remembers getting a frantic call from shawn's mother early sunday morning. >> they were going on a date and coming back. >> reporter: bryce mccloud was impaired when he hit them. >> he remained at the scene. from what i understand, he was cooperative at least up to a point. >> reporter: both were badly hurt. caroline succumbed to her injuries monday. but not husband had a chance to stay good-bye. >> they took us to the place where caroline was and we all got to pay our respects. it was important for eric to say good-bye to her for shawn and he said what he had to say. i said what i had to say and we all told her we loved her.

some students are being kept out. citrus ridge academy in davenport was built to alleviate overcrowding but it is already over capacity. administrators will trying to figure out what to do next. nearby schools are also crowded. 8 on your side spoke with one parent who is still looking for a school for her son. >> they are like oh, we are not accepting any more students. what's the next step? >> administrators will meet on thursday to discuss what to do with the extra students. some options include finding other schools and adding portable classrooms. >> a three-year-old boy saved by an off duty deputy at a water park got to meet his rescuer today.

$26million ella and $26 million tempo still under construction. by the time it is finished, the encore project that you paid for will cost $425 million. the reed is barely a year old and it is already showing serious flaws. >> we have a problem down there. and we need to take ownership of it. >> reporter: housing records show leaks dating back to april in ten apartments. but the manage didn't know any of that until we started asking questions. >> thanks for bringing this to our attention. this situation should have been treated as an emergency and it wasn't treated as an emergency. as a matter of fact, i have some people upstairs i'm meeting with about the whole situation. >> reporter: ryans is already involved in a lawsuit with the reed's builder, the siltech group. taxpayers are spending more than 26 million to build along

for the reed. ryans fired siltech in june for faulty construction, now water leaks are making things worse. >> this could be a symptom of a much bigger problem. >> that is absolutely correct. you are absolutely correct about that. that is one of the reasons why we are involved in mitigating legal action with the contractor now. >> reporter: ryans tells me he paid a personal visit to paula to apologize just the day after behalf. he tells me no one should have to live like that and he is going to fix her problem. siltech was supposed to fix all of the leaks as part of the warranty but never did. ryans has hired another contractor and insists insurance, not taxpayers, will pay for the repairs. >> not familiar with this company. i guess you made a phone call. any response to all of this? >> reporter: in a word, nothing. no one from their office has returned my calls. it is interesting to note that

englewood, but they are out there. 93 degrees at 4:00 p.m. temperatures hot again. 94 for a high. not a record, that was 97 in 1960. 81 degrees out in lakeland. 85 weeki wachee. temperatures have fallen mostly as a result of thunderstorms even if you didn't see showers. the easterly flow has been pushing cooler air across the state. once the showers develop. we get the outflow. a tropical wave, 90% ch this is the time of year where we looked east. toward africa for the storms that do form. computer model forecast picks out that area. and that tropical wave over the next couple of days through thursday. as we get into friday and beyond, we watch another area of low pressure. thunderstorms that travel across ecuitorial africa. this one we will have to keep a closer eye on. the computer models keep that
