i'm chip osowski, news channel 8. it is a shocking crime in paradise. a 16 year old boy stabbed his mother and younger brother it. all happened as they were vacationing on siesta key. >> reporter: this week, 16 year old justin joined his mother and brother on a vacation to siesta key. in an unexpected twist, deputies say he stabbed his condo on turtle beach. when deputies caught up with him, he admitted to the crime. the arrest report described a heart breaking moment with the younger brother. charles stated he thought he was going to die and asked why his brother would do this. melissa and charles were transported to local hospitals and gust has been issued two counts of 2nd degree attempted

survive. tampa police believe they've stopped the burglars responsible for breaking into at least 25 tampa homes since march. today detectives announced a major break in the case when someone swiped a stolen credit card. that led them to arrest the three people who live in south florida. police recovered stolen jewelry when they made the arrests. polk county surveillance video shows thieves hiding electronics in diaper boxes .h they would check out, they would only pay for the diapers. they hit walmart stores in 26 counties in florida, many of them in the bay area, and made off with $178,000 in electronics. tonight the bay area has its first marijuana dispensary. the facility is allowed to sell

outside and enjoy the evening. high pressure continues to dominate. we'll get more of a northwesterly flow saturday and sunday. for now, east flow still dominating. friday morning, mostly sunny skies, no rain expected there. and the same situation with sea breeze collision with a light easterly flow in the afternoon. by the weekend, could give us a slight possibility of showers should move inland as the day goes long. saturday and sunday, rain chance of 30%. that will mean lots of sunshine, warm temps. needless to say here in late august. at the peak of the hot conditions we have in florida this time of year. overall, the rain chances for tomorrow are normal, but a drier period as we get into next week. we'll still see showers.

david was proud to be an american soldier. and i know i'm prejudiced because he was my son, but i don't think he had a mean bone in his body. there is not a day that i don't think about david. when i saw donald trump attack another gold star mother, i felt such a sense of outrage.
