the republican candidate for president is doing his best to appeal to black and hispanic voters asking them what do you have to lose? that is what trump said to the crowd of supporters. 8 on your side is the only station in the bay area to interview the republican candidate before he took the stage. our reporter candace mccowan is joining us with her exclusive interview. trump has taken heat for many things that he said and have even admitted that he said some wrong things. that is one of the about this afternoon. >> reporter: trump made it clear to supporters he is still tough on immigration. >> it is going to be a big wall. it is going to be a real wall. it will be as beautiful as a wall can be. >> reporter: with donald trump, i asked if he has softened his stance. visit your plan to deport 11

will be a wall like no other. we are going to do things that are very strong. only the right people. only the people who go through a very tough vetting process coming into the entry. i will be doing a speech on that soon. >> reporter: i was talking to some of your supporters and they were telling me where you stand on immigration. that is what they love about you. how do you draw the line between softening your stance an been with you the entire time? >> we have a strong stance but day care stance. i use the word humane. it is a humane stance. it is strong. the wall goes up. people come into our country but they come into a legal process. we want people to come into the country but they have to come into a legal process.>> reporter: i also asked him about comments he has made in attempts to appeal to minority voters that have been called condescending by many. >> i don't like the expression you can't do worse because

to african-american voters, if you vote for donald trump it will be a different story. >> reporter: you have said that you may have said some things that are wrong. could you say specifically what those things are? >> i don't want to talk about that. i just think that every once in a while i could probably make statements may be a little bit differently. a lot of people like my statements. i am an honest person. i am honorable. if i soften things up in terms of statements made, that would be okay. >> reporter: trump tells me many supporters are like the supporters i talked to about immigration. they don't want to see him change. he said he is working on a happy medium. boaters can be the judge.>> he did not have a lot of time but he seemed cordial. he was asking -- answering all of your questions. >> you asked him about zika because he had said that governor rick scott is doing a great job with zika. >> he echoed those sentiments. he said he ha but we have more than 40 people

there is an 80% chance over a five-day period of development according to the national hurricane center. we still have the stone that will not be any impact on us. hurricane hunters were in this area today. it is hard to find a center circulation but they have seen some strong wind gusts. you can assume that it might be a bit more organized with a large area of thunderstorms. you can see where it is. the connection we have seen in the thunderstorms are mostly on the southern part of it. it is extending out for some good distance along the center. 45 miles per hour winds as we talked about within the observation from the aircraft today. you can see the timing on this for friday and eventually on saturday out of the warmer waters. these computer models change every day. this look taking a tour the state of the florida is the current thinking but they get updated several times a day. we just have to continue to watch. here is a lot can happen.

found. staff at the school told him crews came in over the weekend to clean and paint over the mold , even sharing these pictures with me taken by a plato staff member. the first on friday and the next on monday. still, they maintain there is no mold. >> we definitely did not do any painting or cleaning or anything like that on the weekend. >> reporter: plato academy in a largo did done by the florida department of health. i reached out to that inspector and she told me that no mold tests were ever done in those classrooms. >> if a child does breathe and mold spores, what kind of health problems can cause? >> reporter: it can cause a lot of respiratory issues especially for children with asthma. we were allowed inside of those classrooms this afternoon. i

talk about low. deputies are looking for a man who stole a toys for tots donation box. this guy went into a ups store in davenport wearsu told an employee his wife was sick and they needed money for bills. the employee gave him five dollars. a short time later, the suspect returned and swiped the donation box right off the counter. a man caught vandalizing a historic courthouse in purple heart monument in citrus county told investigators what he did was art. deputies found the man on the roof of the courthouse this

investigation. >> what a mess. the smell was overwhelming. the bugs over everything. the stench came from a smelly material dropped on a field by a company that processes human waste and sells fertilizer. >> the dumping went on for weeks while a hernando county couple worked to open a restaurant across the road. as you might guess, they told senior investigative reporter steve andrews that clogged up their business plan. >> by the time we were notified of this and i got up to ridge manor, most of that mound was gone. when the wind shifted, let's just say it was less than appetizing. >> reporter: take it from me personally. this smells as bad as it looks. a company called south waste which according to the state receives solids from sewage treatment plants dumped one load here after another. >> the smell is putrid and terrible.

>> reporter: regina and charlie hall are opening a restaurant called the smokehouse express in ridge manor. the south waste created this outhouse express right across the road flushing away their business plan. >> people don't want to come to a food truck and eat when it sells like human waste. it is not appetizing. >> very nauseating on a daily basis. the smell would make you sick. >> reporter: charlie and regina photographed and video recorded to a state affidavit started rummaging. they followed one of the trucks backed to its plant in gross land and then contacted south waste management. >> they stuck to their story that it was a sod farm. this is clearly not lake county. it is hernando county. >> reporter: i went to south waste to try to get answers. >> can ask you questions about ridge manor?

can i get your name? >> no, sir. >> reporter: it was not permitted on the property. dep claims this company had no permit to dump this mound of mud here nor does the property have a permit to accept it. >> there are only two landfills this stuff is allowed to go to.>> this is not a landfill. we are trying to make a business here. i have done nothing but try to stop this for six weeks.>> reporter: dep told me it was what south waste dumped. the department of agriculture claims it did and is analyzing its contents. that affirmative agriculture also said the company give up its license to sell fertilizer this past week. >> who owns this land? >> reporter: the property is called porn ranch. the owners are up in knoxville, tennessee. we have not been able to reach them. dep is investigating. they can impose fines if it determines
