finally upgraded, still a menace to society. >> yes, i guess so and certainly the rain, so about the water in so many ways, the next 24, 36 and 48 hours you will see in the forecast the rain chance still fairly high. this was a tropical depression as we know, now a tropical storm hermine, 45-mile-per-hour winds as of the 5:00 advisory. that orange stripe there, that's basically a tropical storm warning for citrus, hernando, pasco, through the big bend area. and of course the higher seas especially closer to the center but they have shifted the path a little bit, they being the national hurricane center to the left or to the west farther away from the bay area, so we are out of the cone of air but still a feeling for the folks up there in the panhandle, could be some real high seas especially east of the center of that landfall friday 2:00 a.m. the timing on that can change and that 70-mile-per-hour winds we could be very close to a potentially -- or potentially reach hurricane strength with

levy county, a tropical storm warning in place. a hurricane watch meaning some high tides, west of 19 in levy county they have recommended a voluntary evacuation saying they could get 8 feet of storm surge according to the local eoc in levy county, that's north of citrus county. as we look at the lines of equal pressure here you can see that southwesterly breeze as we get into later tomorrow, friday and saturday, that's problematic as we all know for the onshore flow holding in and pushing the tides into intercoastal waterways, higher tide levels as well and that's up and down the west coast of florida. obviously closer to the center of circulation you're going to have higher seas and greater concern for that and that's why the tropical storm warning including the possibility of seeing some tropical storm forced gusts in that area. marginal risk here from the hpc saying the high wind gusts and isolated tornados in the forecast for the rest of today and certainly for tomorrow with an area of concern as well is always the possibility you can

potential rotation in the atmosphere that could cause some small tornados. a lot of dry air colored in red north of the storm, most of the thunderstorms on the south and eastern side where we are and that explains the heavy rain we have seen of late. again one more look at the satellite and i'll show you radar coming up. there's plenty of showers that continue to move across the area and we are seeing observations of rainfall close to 9 inches estimated by doppler radar in pinellas county, we are seeing below n caesar, almost 7 inches of rain at at that -- at that spot and that's an observation since midnight. additional rain is going to cause problems as it already has. >> thank you very much, steve. the weather is a big factor tonight for the tampa bay buccaneers. fans attending tonight's game at raymond james stadium better bring ponchos. chip osowski joins us from the stadium in tampa. i would say are you staying dry but that would be ridiculous. >> reporter: i heard a wise man
7:04 pm
i'm not sure that's exactly the case. wet, soggy and miserable three words to describe the conditions out here at raymond james stadium this evening but this wet tropical weather isn't stopping bucs fans from cheering on their team. many are lining up now and the game begins in about an hour. the team covered the field with tarps in order to keep it as dry as possible. good luck with that. workers removed those tarps about an hour and a half ago and the rains have not let up. suffice it to to be wet out there. there was some chatter out here that the game could be postponed again but all indications are things are going off as planned and while attendance for this preseason game in these conditions will not be that great, there are those fans who would not miss this for the world. >> what kind of fans tailgate in this kind of weather? >> fans that come to all the games. >> is this exciting for you?
7:05 pm
no one else is out here and i would rather be here than sitting at home or fighting traffic. >> reporter: and we did only find a handful of tailgaters this evening. i would assume most are electing to stay home where it's dry. the game is going on as planned. the only thing that could change that is the weather, if things go south, if we see lightning in this area, jen, the game could end sooner than expected. back to you. >> so now i want to tell you to get dry if you can and definitely weather. >> reporter: for the next half hour we will try to stay as dry as possible. >> okay. good. thank you, chip osowski live for us at ray jay. we appreciate it. you will be able to watch the bucs game tonight at 8:00 right here, your official bucs station, news channel 8, nbc programming will move to me tv, digital channel 8.2 which you can find on bright house

never -- if you can help it, you never want to go into a season where your starting quarterback goes down that you feel like all hope is lost so right now knock on wood, we are healthy and we are getting ready for the regular season. >> reporter: wet conditions tonight. you have a receiver battle. i know the coaching staff is interested in making the depth chart and making decisions. i'm not sure how fair of an assessment you're going to get for a final impression tonight. how difficult is that position group in particular when you guys sit down to make these challenging. we have pretty much -- we pretty much know what most of our decisions are. there are a couple of positions right now that this is going to be the final piece of the examination here, but we will still get enough out of it but we have plenty of practice tape and plenty of tape from prior preseason games that we can make an informed decision on. >> when the weekend hits and you start seeing the names that are available around the league, give me the play by play of your staff. you need to evaluate all of

available. how busy are you this weekend? >> it can be another draft but you have to know what -- you have to do a really good evaluation of your own players and my staff and myself, valuated all the other players that we feel may become available, we have a setup that if these guys get released, these are guys we are going to claim. sometimes it turns out that none of the players that you thought were claimable get cut by their respective teams so it's -- you kind of sit at the edge of your seat and your practice squad. >> we appreciate your time tonight. getting ready for the broadcast on news channel 8, can i stay in here? can i do it in here or do i have to go down there? >> don't touch the beer. >> reporter: perfect, done deal. the gm just hooked me up. send it back to you. >> he said no beer so keep that in mind. thank you very much. tonight a sarasota woman is accused of stealing close to $85,000 from the girl scouts, if you can imagine.
