11:20 pm
falling. some adding -- at this location, almost 7 inches of rain, clearwater, 3.5-inches of rain, plus over 5 inches of rain, that's a record in sarasota. almost 6 inches of rain. and it continues to come down inland spot, lakeland, fort immediate to bartow. the heaviest activity pushing off to the east. good news is, not as heavy at the moment. more showers certainly with generate, about we get a break, that would be fantastic. a lot of the area. from north to south, things are quiet right now, but inverness, brooksville, central areas, pinellas county, after the drenching, some showers lifting your way, but offshore at the moment, things are relatively quiet. can you see heavy rains -- you can see heavy rains. fairly dry back to the west for the moment, but still we have the tropical storm to the west,
11:21 pm
really going to be -- not going to be an issue, mostly in the 70s today, cloudy skies, showers and storms across the area. there's the center of the tropical storm, and getting more organized with 60-mile an hour wind, a flood advisory is in place, and you can see the coverage of shower activity and the break in the showers back to the west at the moment. so if you mixed this, 60 -- missed this, 60 miles an hour winds, and you can se forecast for landfall, thursday at 8:00 p.m., 75-mile per hour winds, which would make it a category 1 hurricane. of course, that can change. and eventually you can see the landfall sometime later on thursday, but probably more like early on friday, and shooting to the northeast. tropical storm warnings in place for citrus, hernando, pasco county. expecting wind gusts and tides. possibility of 2-4 feet, plus,
11:22 pm
east of the landfall of that activity there. so the higher tides as well, and winds more southwesterly, that includes in tampa bay, all the rivers, and those that face westward can see the water pushed into the area. so cloudy skies will stay in place overnight, see the occasional showers passing across the area. we hope the totals won't be as high, probably not like today, but still showers on and off with tropical downpours can occur. friday morning, mo out of here. rain chances still fairly high for thursday and friday, and on saturday, 50%. that's when we say good bye to the system. moving into the atlantic. it's labor day weekend, so focus on the tropical weather, you forget it's a holiday. we have to get through tomorrow, and then we watch the

welcome back to raymond james stadium where the bucs fall in their preseason finale, 20-13 to the washington redskins. this was a night where it rained steadily all day, it got heavier, and heavier, and heavier. the bucs played well, once it lightened up, but cannot handle the conditions as well as the red kings. let's look -- redskins, the first half wasn't pretty. lot of starters not playing, a

side, but it was a slip wet ball, and fumble fest. bernard reedy fumbled a couple of punts, peyton barber had a fumble that the bucs recovered so a sloppy night. offensively, and on special teams. defensively, i think the biggest disappointment was the washington redskins ground game. the bucs were sputtering. head skins had it in mack brown, 60-yard touchdown, and there were missed tackles everywhere on that. that's going to be the most disappointing thing, i think, the coaches take away. but second half, bucs looked a little better. 20-13 was the final score. ryan griffin, the quarterback threw a touchdown pass to bernard reedy. that's why it was a one-score game. couple of positives i want to take. one, 50-yard field goal from kicker roberto aguayo. i chatted with him during the

field was in good shape. he wasn't worried about the footing. he was worried about the weight of the wet football, and that 50-yard field goal didn't have much room to spare. so what he said made sense. and the receiver battle wither's going to have to make the cuts by saturday, freddy martino had a decent night, late in the second half, bernard reedy, even though he fumbled a couple punts was the guy that caught the touchdown pass from ryan griffin. that's the end of now the bucs get down to the business side of this, guys. they have to cut the roster down to 53 players. 75 right now, by saturday, and that doesn't mean they are still done makes cuts. other teams will cut players, and the bucs could cut some more, soup a few more players -- sign a few more players, and over a week from now, 11th of september, bucs and falcons, two road games to start the
