[ and lucky he didn't stack me or shoot me. >> reporter: the 60-year-old banged up an bruised after a trip to this wal-mart on friday in broad daylight. >> he got on top of me and he grabbed me around the neck and just started hitting and hitting and hitting. finally he gets me to the ground and he takes my walker and then he starts hitting me with my walker. >> he was in the parking lot when the attacker stopped him and asked him for the time. he thi that's when the beatdown began. in the end the thief got away with hundreds of dollars, his wallet, and, get this, even his walker. now, get a good look at this surveillance video. the thug took off in that blue dodge durango. the witness says the plate began with the letters g. k. a. this crime even has seasoned police officers asking who could do such a thing. >> our first thoughts are why are you attacking an elderly man with a walker?

tonight for a killer after an online sale turned deadly in polk county. and jeffrey morrow jr. went with a friend to the dollar store sunday night. that's where his friend had arranged a meeting with a potential buyer. but the buyer grabbed the item for sale and took off running, and morrow pulled a gun and chaseed after the thief. but he also had had a gun and he used it to kill morrow. right now polk county investigators are scrambling to find dozens of ol it is a search made more complicated because of the lack of really good surveillance video, something the detectives often rely on in cases like this. tonight we show you what the deputies have to work with. >> reporter: it is disturbing, keith, not just for the polk county residents, but for all of us. here we are nearly three days this consider of guns could be in any florida county. this shows the crime in action

watch as these hooded men calmly get out of the truck. and within seconds put their plan into action. >> they arrive with sledge hammers. they knocked the window out to break out the burglar bars. they entered the store. >> reporter: the sheriff says thement of guns they took in such a short amount of time is astonishing. >> and in two minutes they stole 36 firearms and fled in two minutes. >> reporter: the sheriff says they're certainly not dealing with a tree >> they knew that the firearms were not secured in the store. they knew that the burglar bars were not appropriately installed. >> reporter: it is also likely the three men knew the store alarm was not working at the time. the guns were not properly secured inside thester and luckily for them, they had no interior surveillance system. but besides the sheriff's frustration with the store owner, his bigger concern, the location of all of those

the tree canape and over a nearby pond. and the city commissioners voted to approve a deal with a bradenton company tonight to build that rope adventure and zip line course in a wooded area there in the park. the plan met with strong opposition from neighbor whose have several problems with the new attraction. we're live at the recreation complex. so tell us specifically what are their primary worries? >> reporter: and noise, trash and partying -- parking is like the zip line idea. the others say it will bring jobs, money coming into this err why and also putting this area on the map. to get a real feel of the customer0s of a new zip line experience, i flew zone 8 along the route and then over a pond. drone 8 also shows the close proximity to houses, something several speakers brought up.

keep in mind this was a weak category one hurricane relatively, but obviously did a lot of damage and upset a lot of people's lives a major hurricane would obviously cause much more than that. and what a beautiful sunset. a great shot, paul. and it was a nice one. in some areas you may have felt the slightly drier air. many folks did this morning and probably will tomorrow emergency as well. 90 degrees for our high tomorrow. the next couple of days, very close to the average as you can see near t 0 degrees. all thwa the next five days at 8:00 a.m., 74 degrees a little cooler. the average being about 76 degrees. we can thank the dry air for that. slightly lower dew points. 90 degrees at 4:00 p.m. it is currently 78 degrees in temple terrace. clearwater beach, 82. 76 in arcadia and upper 70s,

lakeland. the dew points are critical. anything with a 60 is usually probably indicating you might feel a more comfortable morning. but these are a little lower than what we expect them to be this time of year. believe it or not, that can make a difference in the comfort of the air. we have seen a surface wind around an area of high pressure to the north. mid and upper levels. some of that could be mixing down to the surface. the higher moisture levels yielded quite a the shower activity across the state. you kind of see the difference there. the clear conditions across the north and stall part of the state. high pressure is that big feature just to the north. there's what is left of the hurricane. the area of low pressure is clearly there. it has been spinning throughout the holiday weekend and sending in rainsqualls as well as higher seas up around long island island. still issues there, but not a huge problem.

coming off of africa. they will travel across the length of africa and merge over the warmer waters and sometimes strengthen into tropical systems. this one has a 70% chance of doing that officially. we'll continue to watch the tropics and that's exactly where we look mostly. quiet the the overnight. mostly clear skies a few scattered showers. the higher moisture levels were down to the south. that would include the southern sections. a few isolated showers did move from east to kind of like they did today and there they are on the map here. the next -- thursday here. still fairly dry conditions. it is only about a 20% chance of rain. by the end of the week, we'll start to return deeper atmospheric moisture, combined with the heating and produce a more seasonal rain chance. so we'll still see summer weather. it is still officially summer. you start to get into september and you start to think about
