attends. her office didn't make her available to talk about the trump donation. all right, now first at ?? 4:00 weather. here's meteorologist julie phillips. after what was a fairly dry weekend for a lot of us, rain chances going up starting today, you can all ready start to see a little bit of rain fall down on the camera. no measurable precipitation yet. but temperatures in the upper 80s now. expect those to fall. you can see scattered storms moving from east we've seen deeper moisture in place. with that easterly flow, pockets of heavy down pours rolling through. you can see some of those near the brooksville area. a lot of lightning, heavy rain near ininvestor mess in pushing toward the west. also tracking showers and

and rain toward bradenton down through venice tracking spotty showers and storms. inland, you can see heavy showers and storms in highlands county, around sea bring, drifting toward the west. so what to expect for the rest of this afternoon and this evening, expect scattered showers and storms to continue all the way until the time you're having dinner. but after sunset tonight, we're expecting showers and storms to wrap up. rain tomorrow and wednesday as well. due to this tropical wave we're watching over the bahamas. we'll have a look at those rain chances for you coming up in a few minutes. the clear water marine aquarium is expanding. >> new buildings will be dedicated for guest education and wild laugh habitat. jamel was there when officials broke ground. >> the expansion at clear water marine aquarium will include new parking spaces.

guest space. a large 1.5 million-gallon rescue dolphin habitat which includes five poles. the expansion includes substantially more space for the rescued animals, under water viewing, and approximately 100,000 square feet of new guest space. officials want to include a pelican habitat here and make part of the adjacent water way a natural habitat for cmas rescued marine life. the good news, this place will all phases of the expansion, with no close dates, and all guest activities open at all times. now clear water marine aquarium ceo david yates says he's excited about the benefits of this expansion. >> we're a unique aquarium. we're primarily about rescue and release. our job is to rescue, rehabilitate and release the animals. we want them to get immersed into that world when they come.

develop. there's a good chance of seeing rain at your house tomorrow. possibly multiple rounds. an easterly flow will continue. the rain starts in our inland spots and pushes toward the coast. a ton of lightning in this storm situated near new port richey. some heavy rain around indian rocks beach as well. you can see along the sarasota county coastline towards anna maria island, we're tracking heavy down pours, and heavy rain around sea bring, archibold biological station. also dealing with that around pine ridge, over towards brooksville, these showers and storms will continue for a few more hours. it won't be until after sunset when the rain will come to an end. when you wake up tomorrow morning, i think it'll be mostly dry. but it's going to be a warm start. upper 70s, and then we'll see

that's due to a tropical wave increasing moisture around here. by noon, storms will have developed inland. and then we'll see scattered showers and storms continuing into the afternoon and evening hours. heavy rainfall expected. that tropical wave lifts north tuesday night into wednesday. but we're still looking at deep moisture around. we'll keep a slight rain chance wednesday morning. and a good 50% chance of rain through the day as we head into wednesday afternoon. out in the tropics, we have tropical storm ian which over the bahamas. this has a 10% chance of development. it will bring heavy rain as we head into tomorrow. here's tropical storm ian. good news with this track, it stays out at sea. just the kind of track that we like to see. not effecting landor our forecast. but that tropical wave will definitely bring us extra moisture the next couple days. look for a good 60% chance of storms tomorrow. and a 40% rain chance through the weekend. all right.

sometimes kids get in trouble. maybe they even go on a joyride but a couple teens in maine were thinking much bigger. the teens hopped in a bucket loader and that big piece of heavy machinery you see on the side of the road. they took that for a ride up the maine turnpike. along the way, they hit a car and a police cruiser. the officer finally stopped the slow speed chase by shooting out the machine's tires. police in australia helped a nine-year-old y lifelong dream. the boy has cerebral palsy and always wanted to visit the northern most tip of the continent. his parents asked for help in june. local police stepped up. and this past friday they drove the boy up to the beach and carried him all the way out to the famous sign. some actors will go a long way to get their character just right.

missing malaysia airlines flight have been found in madagascar. the flight went missing in march of 2014. it had 239 people on board. the pieces found appear to show burn marks. they'll be analyzed by forensic experts. number three, the man who jumped the white house fence thanksgiving day last year entered a guilty plea today. 23-year-old joseph could face a year in prison. prosecutors say he loved his country and knew he'd be locked up for what he did. remember the powerball jackpot that totaled half a billion dollars back in july. the winners wish to remain anonymous. but today their attorneys came forward to collect the money. the grocery store that sold the ticket is donating $100,000 to local charities and the winners are matching that. which is a drop in the bucket. the lump sum ended up being a

search for an arsonist who tried to torch a central florida mosque. video showing a man running away from an islamic center. chris clackham has details now in this investigation. >> reporter: investigators now say that huge fire at a mosque in fort pierce florida was deliberately set and probably by the person seen in this security video running from the mosque moments after the breaks out. >> an immediate very large flash was observed in the video footage. the male was then seen leaving the mosque in a hurry. >> the fire that caused heavy damage to the inside of the mosque occurred after midnight sunday and after the suspected arsonist approached the building on a motorcycle then entered with something suspicious in his hands. >> he was holding a bottle of

it's still summer here in florida. and we're expecting some of that deep summertime moisture around. that tropical wave will pass over florida tomorrow. so expect some heavier tropical down pours throughout the day. starting up by the early afternoon hours. that trend continues through the end of the week. by next week, that's when we'll track some slightly dryer air back into the forecast. and rain chances will start to drop off a bit. when you wake up tomorrow morning, it's going to be muggy, temperatures in the mid 70s, by the afternoon hours, looking at a 60% chance of storms. good chance throughout the day you'll see at least one round of rain at your house. the rain moving east to west across the tampa bay area today. much like we'll see all week long. you can see pockets of down pours. i saw a lot of lightning within these storms. especially north of new port richey. heavy rain, a lot of lightning, a few showers north of clear water. probably heading toward honey

southeastern hillsborough county. south through manatee county tracking spotty rain along the sarasota county coastline. tracking rain from venice to north port and wauchula, arcadia, everyone dealing with a little rain today. showers and storms pushing off the coast of crystal river. also tracking rain around -- now. the st location. only picked up .18 inches of rain. temperatures in the mid 70s. you can see temperatures really vary depending on if you've seen the rain or not. in tampa, it's 90 at the airport. 86 in brooksville. 81 in inverness. so there's the tropical wave we're looking at. currently situated over the bahamas. bringing heavier rain there. as we head into tomorrow, we'll see deeper moisture into the

around 9:00 p.m. after sunset or so, when you wake up tomorrow morning, not expecting much in the way of rain, it'll be muggier, and you'll see extra clouds around. as we head into your lunch hour, we'll see showers and storms developing. especially inland. then we'll see scattered showers and storms throughout the day. so a good chance of rain throughout the day. you can almost see that tropical feature as it moves to the wednesday morning, can't rule out a couple showers still around. we'll have pretty deep moisture still lingering. rain chances are still high for us. especially for this time of the year. 50% chance of showers and storms throughout the day. in the tropics, we're watching tropical storm ian in the open atlantic right now. and also that invest only a 10% chance of development though as we head into tomorrow. so that's likely not to develop. ian expected to remain at tropical storm strength.
