president obama was in fact born in the united states. sometimes, pushing conspiracy theories like this tweet in 2013. how amazing the state director who verified obama's birth certificate died in plane crash. all others lived. >> hillary clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy. i finished it. i finished it. you know what i mean. >> reporter: evidence clinton or her 2008 campaign pushed the issue of president obama's birth certificate. trump said if it wasn't for him, the president never would have provided evidence he was born in the u.s. >> donald's advisers had the gumption to say he is doing the country a service by pushing these lies. no. he isn't.

impulses. the bigotry and bias that lurks in our country. >> reporter: now, one other thing that trump had said in his short statement on the birth certificate issue is that by getting the white house to finally release it, he put an end to the issue. that is just not true. the truth of the matter is he continued to suggest that it might be a forged document that was somehow untrue for years until this tonight, meantime, hillary clinton had a few thoughts about donald trump's admission today. you saw it. she wants him to apologize to the american people. >> for five years, he had led the birther movement to delegitimize our first black president. his campaign was founded on this outrageous lie. donald trump owes him and the

>> secretary clinton was speaking at a black women's agenda symposium in washington. she slammed trump for feeding into bigotry and offering a divisive vision of america. she touched on her recent bout of pneumonia saying it finally got republicans interested in women's health. well, students plan to use a process to allow the american flags. the flags were taken off their cars. newschannel8's jamel lanee spent the day at duneden high. >> reporter: students want to be patriotic and fly their flags but principal says any loose items are a safety hazard. they say they are flying the flag out of protest. >> today, we set up this to try and stand up for ourselves as we can fly our flags. >> reporter: students say they

flag down during school hours. >> people in my family have fought for this country and for me to have a right taken away from me ... um, it is kind of just like upsetting. >> reporter: school principal kyle johnson said he never said they could fly the flag. he says school's policy says any loose items on cars or truck beds are safety hazards. anything on a vehicle must be secured. >> i understand how it is a safety matt because it was going to cause a conflict. >> we never confiscated any flags. what we did do, the flags were stuck in the back of pickup trucks and they were loose. we wanted to make sure no loose items that could be picked up. >> reporter: he will let democracy decide and give the students a chance to write a new policy. >> we just talked about how the national recognized flags are allowed in school truck beds as

it. jen risk has lived behide mosaic for 16 years. >> right now, i'm not too concerned because i have been here long enough to know mosaic does take care of their problems. if i start to see a difference in my water, then i will become concerned. >> the florida department of environmental protection confirms mosaic took immediate steps to contain the contaminated water. and, mosaic sees no sign soft the sink hole growing. that said, to make sure there effects, ground water monitoring will be continued. a very busy situation in the tropics now. we have three. yes. count them. three named storms at the very moment. chief meteorologist steve jerve is now live at 5:06 and our forecast center with a closer look at what is going on out there. hey steve. >> fortunately, it is not a huge issue for us at the moment. most of these storms are fairly weak and certainly the one out

the united states. possibly not florida. we have to watch it over the long haul. you can see on the satellite imagery, the cooler cloud tops in red, that is julia. we have been watching that for several days now as have the folks in the carolinas. a lot of dry air on the western side of it helping to limit the amount of rain on the east coast. that is very good news. eastern is post tropical. it is out there, a long way away. no effect on the u.s. and of course, karl we will have to watch because it is moving to the west. julia is not moving very much. you can see it is moving northwest, then off to the northeast perhaps early into next week. again, some small effects on the state of florida's climate, but overall, weather wise, i think we are just fine relative to julia. as for karl, because it is moving in a westerly fashion over the long haul, the last position strengthening into a category 1 hurricane. but the one computer model, the euro model has it weaker today. that is the thing watching day- to-day models.

investigator shannon behnken joins us now with a follow-up to a few stories that have gotten a lot of attention the past few weeks. >> reporter: many of these stories strike a nerve with viewers. i get e-mails from people wondering what is happening. i have three updates and i continue to work on many more. first up, this sarasota lake was so green, you could hardly tell where the grass stopped and the water began. residents who live along lake crane and even the turtles who call the te this mess for months before turning to me for help. within 24 hours of my call from this not so scenic lake, officials did what they should have done already. these photos show crews spraying for the very aggressive duck weed. and here is what the lake looks like today. it is clearing. next, pinellas county officials called this abandoned home and foreclosure one of the worst looking in the county. they say it is in such bad

even so, they can't seem to get bank of america toe say yes to bringing out the bulldozer. the house looked like this during my first visit. then, recent storms ripped off part of the top exposing rafters. code enforcement inspected the damage ands it is still not bad enough to tear down without the bank's blessing. so, i have sent more e-mails asking the bank what is taking so long? life. >> reporter: this largo woman is tired of living in this house after it was flooded with three inches of raw sewage. the stink was caused by city officials testing the water main. but, 36 days later, the city stopped paying the homeowner's hotel bill forcing them to move back. and just light fragrant candles so they can breathe easier. i learned they have made a

fish. photographer cho shot this video estimates about a million mullet were being chased by tarpon and possibly sharks. but the view is just absolutely incredible. and the perspective that we have of seeing this stuff going on, we wouldn't really know about it. now we have the perspective. that's a lot of mullet right there. toss the old line in there and get a few of those pretty quickly. all right, here's the view. 92 degrees in lakeland. you can see in polk county, it is hot, no rainfall there. that is why it is hot. temperatures tend to me this is our relatively knew camera. right along 60 in brandon. a pretty good land marc there. nothing in the way of precipitation here at the moment. other spots around the bay area showing warm temperatures an very little rainfall. you can see in land o' lakes, temperatures have been warm here throughout the afternoon. 90 degrees with a north wind at 7 miles an hour. 48% relative humidity. nothing there in terms of rainfall. it is the weekend. while almost anyway. and the beach forecast,

40%. inland, later in the day. staying humid with temperatures near 89 degrees. water, light chop. sea surface 86 degrees. we are seeing quite a few showers. citrus, hernando. near the sea breeze. we are seeing an easterly flow push our way. we could still see some showers and thunderstorms develop if you are headed out to the football games. there is still that chance. this little isolated shower here, you can see north of clear water pushing out toward the beaching south of palm harbor. much less intense at moment. polk county quiet at the moment. southeast polk has a few showers inland east of bradenton and sarasota. a few showers in hardy and de soto as well. we will leave that in the forecast for the evening hours. meanwhile, temperatures stay close to the average of 90 degrees. 89 is the average. temperatures near 90. 77 degrees at 7:00 a.m. 90 at a high at 4:00 p.m. mostly afternoon early evening thunderstorm chances. hot in river view. otherwise, clouds helping to hold temperature ins the 80s .

look at wesley chapel and lakeland. an overall easterly pattern here. though the wind flow pattern like this weekend is fairly light. you can see our storm still spinning away here. julia, very interesting to look at on the visible satellite imagery. the wind shear is exposing the center and you can see the surface circulation. the wind is blowing everything off to the east. that combined with dry air into the west as well is that we are seeing here on the water vapor imagery. colored in red. this is in the higher levels of it takes away the energy from the systems. you get a bigger picture view of the rain bands coming off the western side of the system. football forecast time, kick off a few storms possible here at halftime. 81 degrees. mostly cloudy skies. muggy. a slight chance of a shower or a thunderstorm in the forecast for the final play. partly cloudy, mostly dry. usf and syracuse, 78 degrees in syracuse, new york. a little cooler up there traveling to the north.

and storms. can't rule out the possibility for that game. the u, miami playing not sure who they are playing. oh, the mountaineers. that's right. 20% rain chance herement boone, north carolina. nice weather this time of year. fsu and louisville cardinals. louisville, kentucky. there is a possibility of scattered storms for each one of these game us. and ucf in orlando laying maryland. 84 degrees saturday at 7:00 p.m. there is a possibility of showers there. florida, a&m, they will be in cloudy with a 30% chance of showers. not that surprising this time of year to have rain chances at football games across the southeast. mostly, of course, we still have a lot of heat and humidity. 40% chance of showers standard. 30% chance in the forecast for sunday. also, for monday, a chance of seeing some thunderstorms as well. though for the weekend, the chance is a little lower including sunday. slightly drier air will work its way in. if you see the rain percentages
