coast sea breeze and overall easterly flow. so i think we are seeing some convergence. a lot of atmospheric moisture, so showers and thunderstorms developing can produce some pretty good downpours especially into the early evening. later evening we will see improvement i think. a few scattered shower ins the eastern around northern sections of polk county. but, the activity here across pinellas county has weakened at the moment. showers interior portions of manatee, hardy, de soto, highlands ok port at the moment. that's the run down on the rain. temps stay warm throughout this period, near 90 degrees. the average high 89 degrees for the evening. 83 degrees partly cloudy skies. maybe an isolated shower. maybe an isolated storm. 80 degrees at midnight. certainly that high humidity that we have seen all week long will be in place throughout the weekend. and some slightly drier air will build in and i think sunday looks like a slightly drier day in the way of fewer showers. 90 degrees at 4:00 p.m.

the dew point 75 degrees within you see dew points mid and upper 70s you know you are there in terms of oppressive weather. 74% relative humidity in saint pete. we have our tropical system off the east coast. julia holding onto the status. a few thunderstorm to the west, some down to the south. mostly the state of florida is seeing scattered shower activity. mostly further to the south. it appears to be the heaviest at the moment. in the tropics meanwhile, we have tropical storm and, of course, tropical storm karl that will continue to move off here to the west. that is why we will keep an eye on that track over the next several days. julia not doing too much. not really affecting the weather too much either. forecast to stay off of the east coast. all the way into the early part of next week. just spinning away. it is sheared quite a bit of dry air associated with that. karl is not in the best environment for the near term. i mentioned that drier air, some wind shear as well. you can see the forecast track turning to the northwest.

system. now, the wrap model for the short term has done a good job of picking up on the showers and thunderstorms we are seeing develop right now. there we go, kind of falling apart here, so we will leave the chance of showers especially for the early evening hours potentially in some spots up into midnight. most of that should dry out as we head into the early part of saturday morning. so, the early part as i mentioned showers, mostly in the afternoon. early part of the day is relatively quiet with sunshine mixed with clouds. 40% rain chance for saturdays as we i mentioned the slightly drier air moving in aloft. keeping it a bit quieter at 20% for monday, tuesday, wednesday. 30 and 40% chance and that first day of fall. shows up on thursday. you can see. not as significant of course. in the state of florida. because we are still holding onto summer like weather and looks like we will through most of the month of september guys. investigative reporter steve andrews exposed it last night. he joins us now live above that sink hole from eagle 8 hd. hi steve. >> reporter: hey stacie, a couple of points i want to make off the top is mosaic said there is no evidence that the sink hole is growing or endangers other water come apartments of the gypsum stack. but, let's take a look. let's zoom in just a little bit here. this crevice just to the bottom right of your screen, wasn't so, it looks like part of the wall is either collapsing or possibly this thing is expanding a little bit. second point, recovering that 215 million gallons of contaminated water from the aquifer is a process that will take years. the sink hole beneath the gypsum stack opened august 27.
