a man who testified in trial as an expert is now being called an expert liar. chester kwitowski lied about his education, his certification, and his level of expertise. we are told he appeared as an expert defense witness in five trials involving the abuse of children in polk county. >> his expert testimony was designed for and requested by the defense rn attempt to get their clients off of criminal charges. >> kwitowski is now facing several felony charges. there is no word yet on if anyone else will be charged. tonight, hillsborough deputy sheriffs are trying to get their hands on a dangerous criminal who fought with a deputy and fled a scene. it happened during a traffic stop and the whole thing was caught on camera. the deputy who pulled over a couple for a seat belt

camera, but the suspect put up a fight and took off running. the deputy fired his tazer but it did not work. it all happened very fast. >> he jumped out of the vehicle, he pushed me away. that is when a little struggle happened. >> rayford faces battery on a law enforcement officer. he also faces a parole violation as well. fdle agents have arrested three people for pulling off a scam involving tampa electric customers. they say allison and edwin enya and tiffany kennedy tried to convince customers their bill was unpaid and their power would be cut off if they did not make a payment using a virtual prepaid card. investigators call this type of scam a national problem. the sarasota police department is now pleading with the public to help stop the ever growing heroin crisis. the city is seeing a sharp spike in the number of overdoses since last july, 44 people have overdosed.

and now, they are finding more cases of drugs laced with elephant tranquilizers. it can be deadly if consumed and many users don't realize they are even taking it. >> this is a community effort. so, divided we will fail at this. united we have a chance. if you are not involved in this conversation, get involved in this conversation. because, the police department can't do it alone. >> now, this crisis is overwhelming a local company needs new ems workers and it is finding them by looking to veterans. sun star ems needs to fill nearly 50emt and paramedic openings. a bill passed earlier this year will allow veterans with medical training to fill the positions. in the next six years, more than 55,000 paramedic positions will need to be filled nationally. and, miami's winwood neighborhood has been through a bit the last few weeks.

somebody has stolen a statue depicting donald trump naked. authorities think they know who took it. they are looking for a guy named pedro rodriguez. investigators say his truck was involved in the heist and the statue had been on display in winwood for about a week. imagine having a naked statue of donald trump and now it is missing. >> maybe that is good it is missing and never comes back. driving it around. >> how can somebody who has passed away get their plates reregistered? >> reporter: apparently, being dead is not enough to make florida's department of motor vehicles turn away business. >> they walked in with the plate. no id. nothing. and said i want this plate reregistered. they didn't ask for any identification. >> reporter: i called state authorities for answers. >> so, is there anything that we can do to help her? >> reporter: i was told whoever in broward county last month. then came back to hillsborough and ran the red light. and then, used a toll road. the bills for both violations are coming to mosley because kirk's last address was with her. >> that should be illegal. that is sets people up to commit crimes. to do stuff in that person's name. >> reporter: that is a real concern considering kirk's murder is still notsoeverred.

gallant was released to a family member after his death. and now, whoever renewed the registration is not linked to the car. so, how did this happen? my investigation reveals two problems. the dmv computer does not list chang as deceased and renewing registration requires no id at all. it was explained as a loophole meant to allow family members to renew registration as a convenience. but, that is not the way mosley sees it. >> to get an answer like that. >> reporter: tampa police are continuing to investigate this murder and are now looking into this incident. meanwhile, the dmv officials say they are looking into what happened and what can be done to help chelsea now. shannon behnken, 8 on your side. well, here is the view from lakeland on polk county 81 degrees. kind of a nice looking sky here toward sunset. 70% relative humidity. no rain at that location.

right along 60, 83 degrees at the moment. not much in the way of precipitation to drop the temperatures so it will be a warm humid night. it will stay warm the next couple of days. the average high now 88 degrees slowly falling. 91 degrees, 90, 89 degrees. we are right in the ballpark. 9:00 p.m., 81 degrees. 77 degrees at 7:00 a.m. forecast low is a couple of degrees above average as wedged. dry air is what it is all about helping to limit the amount it is on the radar here in the s satelliteimagery. deeper atmospheric moisture across the southern part of the state. much more activity down there. you can see it on the infrared satellite imagery. yes, we have had a few popup showers but not as widespread as further to the south. karl is a tropical storm again. not that it makes much difference to us.

away. and lisa is way out to sea, way off to the left. and the right. that is good news. that is how we like the tropics. the computer mold we can see friday morning, a sunny start, average temperatures 77 degrees for friday. in the afternoon, not many showers. the rain chances below the average of 30% our average. we are forecasting 20%. perhaps inland in southern areas the best chance of seeing a shower. saturday morning, warm to start the day. simila temperatures up near 90 degrees with the lower than normal rain chance. seasonal average at 30%. but it is fairly close. a lot of early sunshine. most of these rain chances coming in the afternoon and evening hours. even into next week. the temperatures are still in the upper 80s through this period. 88 the normal high. rest of the country gets to talk about falling leaves and pumpkins. and we could talk about that too. but we get to enjoy our nice tropical beaches. >> lovely. interesting when you can get into the gulf of mexico and it
