he is live at one buc place. hi rod. >> reporter: hey, good evening. when i came here this morning just after buccaneers morning practice, head coach dirk koetter said he was going to withhold make any decision on what happened with austin sefarian-jenkins after he got that information. he must have gotten that information quickly. within a couple of hours, asj was done. tampa bay buccaneer austin sefarian-jenkins was not a happy man he spent time this morning trying to talk his way out of a dui after the fhp pulled him over at 275 and state road 60. they said he was flying down the road doing 80 miles an hour in a 50 miles an hour zone. and even whizzed by and cut off a trooper in the process. >> all right man, whatever man. tell me how you want me to walk. >> reporter: troopers gave him a field sobriety test. he failed. and so, they cuffed him and threw him in the back of the

off to jail. >> that trooper conducted a traffic stop when they saw him weaving back and forth and it changed lanes in front of the trooper. >> reporter: once booked, asj refused a breathalyzer, but that's not all. >> he was supposed to have an ignition interlock device in his vehicle he did not have. >> reporter: that was from a 2014 arrest in washington. he may have been chatty this morning but hours later when he left the lockup, he didn't say a word. coach koetter was not anxious to talk about it. and we learned it was more action than talk. he was cut. asj tweeted out thanks tampa bay. next chapter. not sure exactly where that next chapter will be. we can tell you the general manager of the buccaneers e- mailed out a statement saying in part, today, they are disappointed in today's news and after careful consideration, felt this was the right decision at this time.

at one buc place tonight. thank you. and, we continue our team coverage now with sports anchor dan lucas. now, this incident was unfortunately the final straw in a string of problems for asj. >> do you any the bucs made the right decision? >> reporter: absolutely. they had no choice. and austin sefarian-jenkins gave them no choice. this is a guy who has flirted with losing his position on the team enough already. when head coach dirk koetter vouched for hi choice but to play his cards right. he couldn't do it. between stints on the injured list three seasons, sefarian- jenkins left the team and fans shaking their heads. the personal foul, the look at me personal foul that cause the bucs a field position in the game. he was booted out of a practice by dirk koetter. that was our first tine that the new coach was not sold on

he was sitting on his porch when alexander perez hit him and stole his walker. albert walker says this was not his first interaction with perez. >> no. i saw him once before. i was robbed by him once before. >> you were robbed by him before? >> he tried to kill me. >> well, that attack left walker bloodied and bruised and late this afternoon, paramedics transported him to the hospital. the is accused of stealing from her 104-year-old patient. investigators say bazeda rosario took several publix gift cards from the victim who live ins sun city center. she was spotted using the cards in surveillance video. a sarasota mother who stabbed her six-year-old daughter last june was convicted today. ashley parker was found guilty on four counts including attempted murder. her daughter did recover from that attack and took the stand

her mother. well, the epa is in mulberry today to investigate the massive sink hole at mosaic. this is their first visit since it released millions of gallons of contaminated water into the aquifer. dep officials maintain no tainted water has left the facility. we have reported a lot on this massive dump of sewer water into the bay. now people are safe to swim and are the fish safe to eat? jeff patterson has been working to get answer. it is fair questions jeff. they want to know if they can fish and go swimming. >> reporter: not easy to get answers josh. we have been trying now. we called the florida department of environmental protection. they called us to call the fwc. they told us to call the florida department of health. just a short time ago, the department of health sent me a really lame one-line e-mail with no real information.

captain tom charlon makes his living on tampa bay. >> how is business? >> slow. >> reporter: business started slowing down for him when news of the waste water dump into the bay started leaking out. >> people are can canceling because of the raw sewage. >> reporter: he wants answers. >> i need answers. is it safe to be in the water? to go wade fishing? is it safe to eat the fish? >> answers at the hillsborough county department of environmental protection. >> overall, the bay is in really good condition. >> reporter: hillsborough county epc has been monitoring tampa bay more than 40 years collecting water samples at 260 locations and they have basic advice for all of us. >> we just encourage citizens to use common sense and if there is heavy rainfall, to avoid contact with the water for a couple of days afterward. and allow the bay to do its

>> reporter: and the most important advice for captain tom. >> if someone wanted to limit their exposure to the water that the fish swam through, they should wash their hands, they should wash the fish. and they should cook the fish thoroughly. >> reporter: yeah, good advice there. the hillsborough county epc only monitors long term conditions to monitor the overall health of the bay. they don't issue swim advisories. that is up to the department of health. that is why we wanted them to answer some they sent us that lame one sentence e-mail. we have a lot more questions for them. and we are going to keep trying. >> yeah. it was nice that you did get some answers today. but why so difficult to just get some simple answers to these questions? >> reporter: yeah, these are questions that the public has the right to know. is it safe to go in this watt sneer is it safe to swim? is it safe to fish? we are going to keep trying josh. >> it's all we can do. jeff patterson live for us in tampa. thanks for the hard work. appreciate it. and if you are headed to

>> now to breaking news. westbound gande boulevard is blocked because of a crash by the bridge. that is a live look. therth you can see the crash blocking the roadway. the one person that had to be taken to the hospital ... you can see the crash is causing a big traffic backup for anyone headed to saint petersburg. you need to take an alternate route across the bay if you are getting ready to head in that direction. illegal dumping has become an issue in clearwater. furniture, trash, and debris has turned up on several lots in one specific neighborhood. city authorities inclearwater police are working to catch the people who are doing this.

cameras in several neighborhoods and jamel lanee joins us now from clearwater and unfortunately, the property owners still have to pay to have this stuff taken away. right jamel? >> reporter: exactly, stacie. for example, this lot, you can see right here, the owner has a few day to clean it up. even though the trash was left by someone else. icy has had a lot of cleaning to do on her property caught dumping mattresses, a sofa bed and a cash. >> sofas, chairs, roll away beds. >> reporter: it has been a major headache over the last several months. >> it has been small piles for several years. but this year, they became major piles. it became unbearable. >> reporter: unfortunately, she had to bear the expense of having it all removed. >> the largest for one removal

it was just that much stuff. >> reporter: so she went to city leaders and complained. she called clearwater vice mayor bill johnson. >> he rolled through. not only did we find this pile, we found others. >> reporter: here is trash on palm bluff street. more on taft avenue. dumping continued on surrounding roads. >> and rather than take them to the dump and pay for a tipping fee, they are just dumping them in this neighborhood. >> reporter: he went to clearwater police and set two in the act. >> i would like to catch the people that are dumping and hold them responsible. >> you need to take your trash to the dump. and, pay for it. we don't want your stuff. >> reporter: and the people you saw in that surveillance video, they were caught and arrested the same day. so the city wants this to be a message to other illegal dumpers. you never know when someone is watching you. stacie? >> all right, jamel lanee, live in clearwater, hard to believe

tampa international airport. nothing to the north in the way of shower activity. drier air aloft has shut things down. thunderstorms around lake placid got an incredible soaking. strong thunderstorms in lake placid. you folks in southern highlands county down around the venus area and the eastern sections now, of de soto county still seeing a few showers as well. this is actually south of archbald, the strongest thunderstorms. and really, this point southward is where the bulk of the upper level moisre higher rain amounts. rain chances climb up to 40%, that is next week. they are still relatively low this weekend at 7:00 a.m., 77. another hot day in the forecast area tomorrow. 90 degrees at tampa international airport. 88 in saint petersburg. dew point 70. we have a northwest wind at 6 miles an hour. drier air here. deeper moisture here. that is why you see the shower activity where it is. and that is clear on the

across north florida and much more actsive across south florida. we have the warm temperatures. the humidity. but that is obviously where the thunderstorm activity is located. there is karl, there is lisa. the tropical depression. and this area, the next five days, about a 20% chance of possible development. we will keep a close eye on that. we are very much still in hurricane season. a 30% chance over a five day period. karl, the track of that, you can see that moving off to the northeast potentially a category 1 hurricane. 60 miles an hour winds now. lisa is inconsequential now. football weather is not bad. only a slight chance of a few thunderstorms. you saw the radar where most of the activity is inland and south at the moment. otherwise, we have low 80s for the evening. just prepare for the warm weather. football forecast for this big game here in tampa tomorrow, starting at noon, that is a hot time to play this time of year. fsu and usf, partly cloudy, warm. tennessee and the gators
