advisory. that came down just a bit ago. this is still a strong and powerful hurricane. that well defined eye on our infrared imagery. it's moving closer toward haiti and jamaica. expected to pass between the two. it's making its way north at 6 miles per hour. maximum sustained winds at 140 miles per hour. here's the latest track, off toward the north, then as we head into the bahamas, right now 'r off the east coast of florida, everywhere from south florida to the carolinas, needs to watch the storm closely. we have this cone of uncertainty. it could be farther west or east from the center of this track. we're watching this very closely at this point. our main effects will be higher winds and dryer air as it moves out. but all along the east coast,

very closely. here's the latest spaghetti models. over the last 24 to 48 hours, they've shifted farther west. we're watching this closely as it moves up the east coast as we head into the middle of next week, and it's barreling down on haiti and jamaica and parts of haiti getting hit hard with this. you can see they're expecting some areas could see a foot more of rain through the middle of next weekment we'll have a full look at your forecast coming up in a few minutes. your vote 2016. in the next 30 minutes vice president joe biden is expected to take the stage in sarasota to rally the vote for his friend, hillary clinton. john rogers is live from sarasota, what can you tell us? >> reporter: good evening. welcome to the robert l taylor community complex in sarasota where it's a packed house and

supporters a few minutes ago, vice president joe biden will be here later today. this is the second stop of his tour. the purpose is to get out the vote. he's rallying floridians to make sure they're registered and register to vote by october 11th. he's expected to discuss economic issues and hillary's plans to spur job growth. a lot of supporters are eager to hear what the vice president has to say. >> student loan debt. voter supreme court. and i think we need to have hillary clinton as president to make sure that those things get fixed right. >> as a woman, i am very clear about why you need to be involved this election. there's so much at stake. and women really need to be paying attention. because we are the leaders of our families. we are the leaders in our communities. and this election is critical for women to be voting. >> reporter: the rally is set

it's fueled. and it can blossom and bloom and create what we're seeing now. and i think that sewage out falls contribute to that. >> however, some experts disagree. a red tide specialist remote marine in sarasota believes the current out break cannot be directly tied to that waste water discharge that happened during hurricane hermine. a third arrest in the murder for hire of an professor. police tell us that case is not over yet. here's mike vas linda. >> reporter: katherine magnum law is the third person charged in the death of fsu law professor dan. but police say she's probably not the last person to be charged. she's the mother of children, fathered by suspected hit man garcia, she also dated charlie addingson the brother of the law professor's ex-wife.

police say a pattern of cause develops. it started with a call from garcia he called his mother and back down the chain as the plot was being hatched. the only difference in the probable cause when prosecutors declined to file charges and the new probable cause, is all this area blacked out or redacted. that means police have new well, time has run out for people living at the mosely motel in st. petersburg. miami realestate firm altas cal bought the de lap tated motel and plans to demolish it and make way for business development. residents were served with eviction notices. in the past couple weeks more than 400 people packed up and left. 8:00 a.m. today was the fine final deadline. the sheriff was there to clear remaining families out and

a 40% chance of rain tomorrow. temperatures range depending on how much rain we've seen. 82 in tampa. 75 in apollo beach. 82 in lake land. we're 87 in brooksville. we haven't seen much in the way of rain so far. scattered showers south of i-4. you can see heavy rain along the sarasota county coastline. from venice south through englewood, tracking he arcadia dealing with heavy showers from the saint pete area. we'll continue to see more storms into over night hours. we have hurricane matthew. you can see that defined eye. likely going to pass over southwest haiti as we head into tonight. it's going to be a strong category 4 when it does so. weakening a bit. a strong hurricane as it moves over the bahamas.

to see where it falls within that cone of uncertainty for any florida impacts. for us, we'll possibly see breezy conditions. rain and storms tonight. fading away. dry conditions into the over night hours, dry tomorrow morning, then the scattered showers and storms develop as we head into the late afternoon and evening hours. we'll see a 40% chance of rain tomorrow. then the rain chances drop back as we head into wednesday and it'll likely be breezy. matthew brings in dry air into the end of the week. lower humidity as well by the time we head into next week. stacy. tom is celebrating 50 years at nbc this year. that means he's been witness to changes big and small including changes in how wily and work. we spend a large part of our lives on the job. as tom found out, a new generation is redefining what success looks like. >> when i started in journalism

the birth of a nation reopens friday. now your first at 4:00 sports. aqib talib had a lot of nice things to say about his time with the buccaneers. you might want something nice to say about jameis winston. the broncos cashed in on costly mistakes by the bucks this weekend. winston entered the game with six interceptions. not all of them his fault. first position winston instead he finds aqib talib. and then trevor simeon. he hits demaryius thomas, the broncos up 7-0. that was winston diving into the end zone to tie it up 7-7. there was another interception there if you noticed. yeah. picked off again by aqib talib. and of course cj anderson makes the touchdown. now 14-7. in the second half bad weather halts the game again for the second week in a row.

that delay lasted more than 80 minutes. winston took a pounding when play resumed. he was sacked twice in the final 2.5 minutes. five sacks total for the broncos. 27-7 was the final score and the buck's defense wound up with four sacks total but the damage was done. now mid way through the second quarter of sunday's game, joe holly, the center for the bucks was tied for a team lead with two tackles. never a good sign for an offense. especially when you're facing a super bowl champion. ultimately the bucks first half turn overs dug them a hole they could not dig out of. how much blame does jameis deserve? paul ryan asks that very question. steven king couldn't have written a more night mayish start for jameis winston. his first pass intercepted by aqib talib. and the defending super bowl champs had a 7-0 lead. >> the first one was a bad

>> we're still tracking hurricane matthew. you can see on our visible satellite imagery now, a very impressive storm. it's intensified quite quickly as we head into last week. it's still a strong category 4 storm. we're expecting close to the center of the storm to move toward southwest haiti as we head into the overnight hours tonight. max winds at 140 miles per hour. hurricane warnings in effect for parts of haiti, and up into the bahamas. the 5:00 p.m. update just came in. and you can see those max winds are still at 140 miles per hour. expect it to continue to make its way north. and then notice the 5:00 p.m. update just came in. just seeing this now. it's definitely shifted toward the west. now including more of southeast florida. east coast of florida, you'll need to watch this closely the next couple days.

caused damage grant money is available for repairs not covered by insurance. >> if you don't qualify for grant money you could qualify for a low interest loan. making news air ross cross america, the latest on the crash in hoboken new jersey that injured 100 and killed one woman. investigators have interviews the engineer who was at the controls. but so far he hasn't provided the information investigators y tom costello with the latest. photos from the ntsb showing the extensive structural damage inside hoboken station that's kept investigators from gaining access to much of the train. over the weekend they interviews engineer tommy gallagher who told investigators he got plenty of sleep the night before the crash. his cell phone was stored in the backpack. the train and brakes were working normally. when he checked the

steady rain coming down. heavier rain toward engelwood. arcadia dealing with heavy rain this afternoon all ready. and of course hurricane matthew, the 5:00 p.m. advisory just came in. here's a look at this strong system. still a category four storm with max winds at 140 miles per hour. the northerly speed increased a bit at 7 miles per hour. we're expecting it to move close to southwest haiti into the over night ho been posted across many of the islands from jamaica through the bahamas. as we head north, into thursday, the whole cone shifted west with this advisory. a couple models have been trending west over the last couple runs. we're going to have to watch this closely the next couple days to determine exactly how close this storm will move toward the east coast of florida. that's why again, areas on the
