breaking into bucs defensive tackle mccoy's home and threatening his father with a firearm. mccoy was preparing for the matchup against atlanta while this was all going down! >> reporter: you're right. police telling us that gerald mccoy arrived here around the same time his house was being broken into. >> reporter: the burglary happened at mccoy's nearly $3 million mansion at tampa palms. investigators tell us 17-year- home through an open door. his father, gerald, sr., confronted the teen. there was a couple of. the older mccoy -- there was a scuffle. the older mccoy suffered a fractured wrist. frazier pulled a silver firearm before taking off. police saturated the area and eventually located frazier at another nearby residence. people who live in the area are understandably upset and concerned. >> we've been living here 25 years.

gated, as you say. certainly this is not just a gate. there's guards there. >> reporter: about the same time as gerald mccoy, jr., was achieving his 39th career sack, frazier was being interviewed by detectives. they now believe he was responsible for a burglary in pasco county over the weekend. they did locate the firearm which turned out to airsoft type pellet gun. >> and frazier is now in the hillsboro county jail facing a laundry list of charges, including armed burglary, grand theft aggravated assault and aggravated battery. he's currently held by deputies without bond. reporting live in tampa, i'm chip osowski, newschannel 8. we now know more about the crash that killed a woman and injured a deputy.

track him down and get to the bottom of this. shannon behnken, 8 on your side. people in parts of arizona have been dealing with stormy and dusty weather. this is south of phoenix yesterday afternoon. along with the dust, the area received heavy rain and some small hail around the area. here in the bay area, 73 degrees. just watching. looks like they have some construction going on here. and traffic is going the veterans expressway. 74 degrees. temps are down a little bit. the taurid meteor shower begins on saturday. less moonlight with this. that's good news. but 10 meteors per hour. not very active. but maybe you'll be lucky enough to see a few. 9:00 p.m., 74. 66 degrees at 7:00 a.m. 81 at 4:00 p.m. a mix of sunshine and clouds through the day. it's mostly in the 70s, the bay area. in fact, low 70s. pleasant weather conditions for the evening.

football weather for the folks going to the high school games tonight. dry air aloft. sinking to the south. this is associated with a surface cold front. of course it does come with drier air high above. and at the surface, more of a northeasterly wind once this clears the area. you can see the difference from north and south across the state with the drier air building in. we'll feel the difference later saturday and throughout the day on sunday. not a lot in the way of shower activity near the boundary. we have a few sprinkles toward the north. of a passing light rain shower. we have the florida gators. they are playing. and arkansas! fail and arkansas at 4:30. we have pitt in miami. 77 degrees with a few showers possible there. and fsu and north carolina state in raleigh. north carolina, 52 degrees with clear skies. all other teams are basically off. the rapid model picks up on these.
