outspoken and said he is not convinced that the immediate sewer problems will be fixed by next summer and once other options on the table. state legislators heard an your full. dep talked about their ongoing investigation into the sewer discharges during hurricane hermine. >> we have been discussing the overall system. >> reporter: and mayor rick kriseman laid out his vision, which included short and long problems. >> we presented our plan. >> reporter: but city council wasn't too confident that immediate issues will be addressed by next summer. >> i like to be optimistic but you know, i would probably bet against that. >> it's a big project to undertake and to complete in seven or eight months. >> reporter: state senator and the delegation want chris went

reopening or renting an extra barge. >> i think the people in the community will be very disappointed if they don't meet their objectives.>> reporter: j hardman, who attended the meeting is giving the plan a chance. >> i think the infrastructure plans are good and i do think it is movement in the right direction. i think we need to think beyond this immediate fix and the longer-term solution. >> reporter: during the meeting, mayor rick kriseman expressed even when the system is fixed, he cannot promise there will no longer be any spells. senator jack la plata was not pleased to hear that back in the 1990s, there was another overflow of spells and that system was addressed around

relatable and feels the system can be 100% fixed. >> jamel lanee' live for us tonight. two freight trains collided in central florida. one train was carrying fertilizer and the other carrying coal. officials say one was headed southbound and the other northbound when the accident happened. 20 cars jumped the track. two people suffered minor injuries in the crash. crews on scene had to contain a diesel spill associated no one was hurt but a family moving to florida lost everything when a train hit a tractor-trailer loaded with their belongings. the driver got the truck stuck northeast of atlanta. he said he had been following his gps directions and did not see the no trucks sign. it took crews hours to try to clean up that mess. drivers in sarasota better start checking their bank statements. a skimming device was found

unclear how many people could become victims. john rogers joins us from sarasota with more on the skimmers. >> reporter: this is the latest one. good evening. this skimmer was found tuesday afternoon at this bp station on lock ridge road and i got an up close look to find out how they work. on tuesday afternoon, an employee found this inside pump 7 at a bp gas station. it's never a could have compromised a whole lot of bank accounts. detective carlos says this is exactly like the one found on tuesday. >> how quickly can people install these? >> within seconds. 25 to 30 seconds tops. >> reporter: some crooks have master keys are they will by specialized screwdrivers at a hardware store to pry open the panel. then, they will connect this directly to a credit card reader. >> they will connected from one

connection never gets lost. >> reporter: skimmer parts can be purchased online and it is powered by a small battery to store the stolen data. >> are you worried these crooks could become more advanced? >> absolutely. the way cyber crimes are going, absolutely. >> reporter: jim was a victim of a credit card skimmer two weeks ago. >> it was a scary situation knowing that i got rent due and everything and all my money is being drained out of my account. >> reporter: he is stunned th he doesn't care to go through this ordeal again. >> i assume i'm better off going inside and having them that the pump. >> reporter: the gas station manager told me he will improve security protocols to make sure this doesn't happen again. one interesting thing is this is part of an organized crime ring putting these skimmers across the local area. authorities say members of the group install the skimmers and others retrieve the

these counterfeit credit cards and steal the money. >> most of us have those new chip cards now. our gas stations going to start using those?>> reporter: i asked deputies and they said it could be four or five years before you will see those chip cards at your local gas pump. it could be a while before we start seeing that. in the meantime, take proper measures and watch over your ink statements when you go to the gas station. >> and they say go inside but that's always so inconvenient. the whole point is to be able to swipe your card. john rogers with good advice. thank you. what you -- what were you doing at 21? a ucf student is now a member of the florida house. guns to insurance legislation and everything in between she will vote on. >> reporter: she is barely able to legally drink alcohol but amber will be voting on state

weeds. >> reporter: we showed the mail the problem and asked how can this happen? >> it's the reality. after the rains we had a year ago, we literally got 5000 new potholes that popped up as a result of that flooding. the same is true the summer. >> reporter: lisa knows about the problem too well. there are two potholes in front of her home. a city crew painted a white circle around one. has now faded. >> have you called the city? >> the city, the manager, the mayor. nothing happens. >> reporter: and pinellis county, if you have a possible problem, they have an apps for that. upload a photo and pop a pain where the whole lives. >> it's a very convenient way for residents to report issues. >> reporter: tampa mayor bob buckhorn told me city crews are working to patch up the city's

budgeted for so we're trying to get ahead of it but i would agree with you and i'm never happy because i hit the same potholes that we need to do better and we need to get it done faster. tim: somebody drove by and pointed out potholes where the mayor lives that haven't been fixed. take a look at this. we just noticed this street sweeper. it goes around the pothole and then goes up the street so had to drive by this thing, go out of their way, and it still hasn't been fixed. we will see what happens. >> reminds me of the dirty dishes at my house that people will move around to get to the clean ones. pinellis county has an apps, what does tampa have? >> you can report these online or call. i called to report other potholes and got transferred and transferred and transferred.

a beautiful shot this morning and you can see clear conditions in that photo as well. as for the evening, 65 degrees. temperatures will fall quickly as you head out into the evening and later this evening, temperatures could feel quite cool. make sure to bring a sweater, sweatshirt, jacket, something. 59 degrees to start, 80 degrees in the afternoon. should be a nice day similar to today. 74 degrees, current temperature dew point and 47 degrees. that's a dry air mass. 73 degrees downtown and st. pete. high pressure dominates the southeast in florida is part of the southeast. that i will shift over the next several days for more of a southeasterly flow and pick up a few more clouds in the afternoon. once we start to at humidity back in the atmosphere, that tells the story. still tracking this area in the tropics well to our self where the sea surface temperatures
