hank hester is live with the details. >> reporter: are producer said realized how smoothly the whole operation went. they subdued the guy and it was a quiet ride into miami. let's take look. law enforcement federal and local escorting a man out of miami international airport. he is seen being walked, heading to jail. this is cbs4 producer silva harapetian. she is heading home after a memorable flight from la to miami. on board her playing a woman in front of her screams. >> he shoved her. he pushed her. >> reporter: passenger martha young sat next to the man. >> he was arguing with people and using bad language and the steward came and he was very rude to them. >> reporter: a man headed to

escaping from the back of the flight attendant. are producer captured video of the man who followed the passenger. >> one guy i saw walk toward the back of the plane i just assumed the guy must know what he is doing. >> reporter: the law enforcement did their job. sky marshals at their best. it was then a quiet ride to miami where the man was taken off the plane by miami-dade police and turned over to the feds. >> when he got up what fell out? >> a bottle. >> a bottle of --? >> whiskey or tequila. i don't know. >> reporter: the fbi is telling us that there is no nexus to terrorism. it's pretty obvious bottle fell out. this guide will be in court -- this guy will be in court

i'm hank hester cbs news. for the first time we are hearing from a man whose car was stolen with a little girl inside. we spoke with him tonight. >> reporter: this surveillance video from a gas station and coral springs shows what happened when a father left his car with a six-year-old in the backseat and wet inside the store. at these hopped in and took off. the father gave chase but it was futile. police released a 911 call the father made after he realized that the thief stole his car and abducted his daughter. >> 911. >> i have an emergency. somebody just all my car with my daughter inside the car. i had the car off and it was a push start car. they jumped in. i ran right in front -- i left the car right in front of the door and walked inside to get something. i turned off the car and they jumped inside and left. >> reporter: we also heard from the father in person. he did not want to share his

gratitude for a jogger who rescued his daughter after the car thief kicked the little girl out of the car. he also singled out the coral springs police department. >> they just wanted to know which direction the car went and that was it. i would like to thank the police department for doing an awesome job. >> reporter: the father says his daughter is still scared understandably and will need some time to get over the trauma. he has learned to never leave a child in the car no matter how? your errands. he hopes that the they scoffed -- that the thief is caught. i spoke with coral springs police tonight. they tell me their detectives are working on some leaves and would like the public's health -- help. the license plate is seeking qb 13 and is a black optima.

codd cbs 4 news tonight. dozens gathered to remember a young man shot and killed over the weekend. 21-year-old leonard was shot in front of his dad's house near eighth avenue on saturday night. we spoke to his mother who described her son. >> he was very funny and love to crack jokes. he made everyone laugh. he was the light of the show i'm really going to miss my son. just two hours before leonard was shot less than a mile the way 15-year-old alder hill was gunned down. his family says he was riding his bike. campaign 2016. maybe hillary clinton will not coasted to the nomination after all. a new poll in iowa shows bernie sanders in the lead. tonight the three candidates participated in what they call

rally at vertigo is here with more on that. >> reporter: this is the nation's only form that gives candidates a chance to address minority issues. it has played prominently in the iowa caucuses. the democratic candidate squaring off once again at the brown and black presidential form from iowa. the foreign broadcast by fusion network across the television and digital platforms gave the three candidates a chance to address minority issues. first up vermont senator bernie sanders who is surging in the polls in iowa. the american research group has in leading hillary clinton by three points. >> i have known hillary clinton fofo25 years. i have a lot of respect for her. basically what we are looking at here is an establishment of politicians. i think it is too late for an establishment of politics. >> reporter: the candidates

like health care and education. during his time in the hot seat martin o'malley discussed deportation at l lgth. >> the enduring symbol of our country is not the barbed wire fence. it's the statue of liberty. i believe that refugees coming -- it is un-american of us to slammer door. >> reporter: clinton was the last candidate to take the stage. she discussed at blake -- length the black lace manner movement and racism. >> when it comes to arrest we have to have a much clearer set of standards because african- american men and latino men in particular get arrested more quickly for doing the same thing as a white man does. then it continues through the process. more likely to be charged and convicted and cut incarcerated -- incarcerated. >> reporter: the iowa caucuses are scheduled to be held o february 1. over alioth ortega

this is the new video taken by military showing the shoot out and raid to recapture drug kingpin el chapo. he almost escaped again slipping out of the hideout from a sewer system. it was not long before he was caught in a stolen car on the highway. the cartel boss is back in the same mexican prison he tunneled out of in july. the process to upper -- extradite him is underway. he's wanted on charges in miami and elsewhere in the us. >> mexico is amenable to having him extradited to the united states. the united states wants them badly. >> sean penn was not trying to give up the hiding place but mexico's paternal generating -- atty. general. says they cannot have found him without the meeting. the mexican newspaper published photographs that showed ben at the airport with a mexican

offered her a brand-new smile. the surgery included the removal of gunshot fragments and placing dental implants in her lower jaw. >> all i could do is really cr i felt like i got my face back. with a better smile. i was very overjoyed. i kept feeling very grateful. >> she looks great. we wish her the best in all the services were free. there has been a lot of debate over the past few years about this cancer screening for women. the us preventive services task force is recommended mammograms every other year for ages 50 to 74. the group says women in their 40s should make individual decisions with their doctors. an nyu doctor says she's concerned abwut the message young women may be getting. >> they don't need to examine their breath, doctors don't need to look, they don't need

very worrisome vacuum for me. we have to remember that women in their 40s and below still get breast cancer. >> the recommendations come after the american cancer society says that women should now start annual mammograms at age 45. do not complain of temperatures dip a little bit in south florida. we could be in buffalo. temperatures changed from rain to snow overnight and produced huge wins near lake erie causing water to flow over and freeze the parked cars. they are expected to get three feet of snow in the next couple days. is this a cold snap in south florida? >> this is a cold snap. will tell you what's going on out there. light rain is falling adding some moisture. it's really not that cold out there. are live picture in our biscayne bay camera is a bit cloudy out there and visibility is a bit lower.

much of south florida. it is comfortable humidity wise with northwest winds. we are gusting to 20 and no rain. weston right now is a cool spot in the network at 55. 58 coral springs and right now key biscayne is 64. everyone is seeing the winds. here's the radar through the evening rain has spreading from southwest northeast covering much of south florida. light rain for through the night and it will be a wet morning commute. not heavy downpours but wet roads across the area. you can see fairly widespread light rain. it is making its way up from the lower to middle and upper keys. the reason for the rain is the cold front that came through and stalled to our south. we will see some showers tonight and then tomorrow rain will start the day and some sun breaks out. you can see blue skies for

later in the day. we will have late afternoon sun and on wednesday a chilly start could be our coldest morning yet. some low step into the 40s and thursday the crazy weather pattern changes again. a warm front is coming in will be heavy rain by later in the day on thursday and friday and saturday we are into the 80s after having those in the 40s possibly tomorrow night. really up-and-down weatherwise. a lot of changes in another cold front on sunday. for tonight rain in a chilly breeze and tomorrow look for a good deal of clouds early. mostly morning showers and high temperatures struggling to get to near 70 degrees. small craft exercise caution. sees up to seven feet in the gulf spring and choppy conditions. lots of ups and downs

upper 60s tomorrow and by welcome back. the next generation of cars made in the us may be able to avoid most accidents automatically. the government is proposing new technology that would allow cars on the road to talk to each other warning drivers of dangers they had before they happen.
