coverage of the story of the officer ambushed. we have our eye on the storm that coked south florida earlier today. the rain has cleared out tonight, making way for some cooler weather this weekend. john gerard joins us now with more. at cooldown. john? >> reporter: it's all connected to this blizzard bearing down on the northeastern states. this storm system hasn't completely come together yet. will t will get even stronger towards the morning and through the day tomorrow. they've seen half a foot inian yeand virginia. the fist flakes of snow are falling out of the sky there. that's just phase 1 of the storm. phase 2 will get in there tomorrow. we'll have 20 to 25 inches in the bigger cities. anyway, the cool air here is courtesy of that area of low
