>> reporter: let me show you what is going on. workers are telling us that salvages loading up some of the items recovered from that yacht. a rave -- waverunner, and inflatable boat, and a 10 person liferaft that was deployed to help with people that were on board. tonight the coast guard tells us that all 13 people were rescued safely. according to cho -- sea tow this was the yacht shortly before it sank. captain. tim organs is a distress call went out shortly before 10 pm in less than two hours later the out was gone. >> it gradually took on more and more water than when on the stern and rolled over. >> reporter: according to the coast guard the yacht with 13 people on board think about 13 miles east of sunrise boulevard and four letter code -- fort

fortunately the coast guard rescued everyone on board and there were no injuries. morgan and 3c tow boats were to pluck a waverunner and a liferaft to help rescue people on board. they tell us that several good samaritan vessels also taken passengers. morgan says it appeared in a bar can't -- a mechanical problem might be to blame. it's fortunate the ship was relatively close to shore so coast guard could rescue passengers. in the dark of evening with water rushing on board morgan says it was impossible to save. >> the amount of water it was taking and how quickly it sank there was not much anybody would've been able to do. >> reporter: the liferaft and other items recovered will be taken to offices. they will try to make contact with the owners of the yacht tomorrow to recover them.

i have been fighting to get men and women and the people who are left out and left behind a chance to make the most out of their own lives. >> reporter: touting her experience and speaking to younger voters who have been really energized by the campaign of bernie sanders who has been challenging hillary clinton in the polls. sanders answered questions about his presidential bid like how he would pay for some of the programs he's been touting college tuition. about experience. how could he compete with hillary clinton's resume. >> secretary. clinton was secretary of state of this country for four years. that's a lot of experience. let's not debate about that. experience is important but judgment is also important.

sanders listed some places where he disagreed with clinton's judgment including her vote for the iraq war when she was a senator. you can see where this race will be headed in its final days. clinton pushing her experience and sanders pushing something different. both of them are trying to gain support by voters who are still supporting the third candidate martin o'malley. when and sanders are hoping that they can be the second choice and gain some support. now at 11. an escaped prisoner back in custody. wait until you hear what he had to say as cameras rolled. hank tester joins us live from miami dade where he is being held. >> reporter: this guy -- the cops say he is really a bad guy. he's from georgia and his routine was to use women to lure men into motels and hold them up at gunpoint and take all their money. he wound up down here and the

highlights now a safety alert. january is a move of vermont. time to remind ourselves that the state law and protecting law enforcement and others whose jobs put their safety at risk. to illustrate the dangers of florida highway patrol released this dashcam video. it is tough to watch. trooper mickens on the florida turnpike last october west palm beach is walking back to his vehicle having pulled over a driver for speeding when another driver plows right into them. watch the trooper struggle to get up. his pelvis completely shattered , his face bloodied. finally he is able to grab for his radio and call for help. no small feat. thankfully he is recovering. not all emergency workers and first responders are as lucky.

just in. the coast guard just tweeted new pictures on the breaking news were reported at the top of the newscast. one shows the rescue in progress of the people who were on board the sinking 100 foot plus yet. >> the other shows them on board the coast guard cutter. there were six passengers and seven crew. they are all fine tonight. >> dramatic rescue.
