world cup sail boaters drydocks. >> we were postponed today because it was raining pretty hard. >> reporter: these pictures for miami fire rescue. a 90-year-old shrimper in a small dinghy on his way to a boat somehow falls into the choppy biscayne bay near the japanese gardens marina. he is 90 years old with no lifejacket. that's him in the blanket. >> at the time he was able to swim to a floating buoy that was in the water and cling onto it and wait for rescuers to arrive. >> reporter: tough old guy. miami fire to the rescue. now in broward county two days in a row tornadoes. my colleague carey codd has the latest. what's up there? >> reporter: oftentimes with rainfall like this especially here that has the propensity

will see sandbags to protect the businesses. there are no sandbags even though broward is under of flood watch. the worst area is in delray beach . despite the sunny outlook at the beach it has been a steady drumbeat of rain in broward county. they were under a flood watch until late evening on thursday as the skies opened again tourists and beachgoers ran for cover. the good news is to spinal the rain, areas that vocationally fled stayed relatively flat free. the worst occurred to our north and delray beach. the surveillance camera at st. mary's anglican church captioner tornado blowing across the campus. check out this video of a delivery man standing outside the courtyard with his close whipping in the wind. they told me to check the strength of two people to shut the door.

sucked out. >> reporter: the national weather service confirmed that a tornado with wind between 65 and 85 miles per hour hit the beach uprooting trees and causing other minor damage. it follows a tornado with wendy nearly 100 miles per hour that hit coconut creek and pompano on wednesday. they are lucky that the damage was limited to a broken fence furniture in a mangled treat. >> everybody is okay so we are very blessed. >> reporter: the national weather service told us yesterday after the tornado in coconut creek with the el nio we are dealing with we are likely to see more of this type of weather. carey codd cbs 4 news tonight . we continue with cbs4 meteorologist john gerard. we seem to be getting a bit of a break. >> the heaviest of the weather has pushed off the east coast of florida and out to see.

breaking news and homestead. police are on the scene of three people shot to get at least two are dead. let's get out to donner reported -- donner repot oh. >> reporter: take a look at this normally quiet and posh neighborhood here and homestead. police are keeping people who live in this area away from this road and if you take a look back down there this is the clubhouse where you see the blue and red lights down there. the clubhouse for this triple shooting took place. people descended on this nice gated neighborhood off of mediterranean avenue and pacific boulevard.

look at what happened at the clubhouse thursday night. they know three people were shot in two are dead. >> i got a random text i just came home -- and said it had a shooting. >> the preliminary investigation is letting us know that perhaps there was an argument or 10 -- some type of dispute were a 40-year-old male produced a firearm shot the female in the clubhouse, the second victim, and then himself. >> reporter: where told the third person may have been shot in the face and was airlifted to ryder trauma. relatives waited for news of what is going on. we are back out live the uncle of the man airlifted to the hospital tells us his nephew is in surgery and he was shot in the arm and the face. as for the two people who died we are told it was a man and a woman than were possibly a couple.
