across the country. tonight we start with campaign 2016. there are primaries in louisiana, kansas, kentucky, maine and nebraska. tonight ted cruz has won the republican caucus in kansas and craig boswell is in washington dc with the latest. >> reporter: cbs news projects cruz has won kansas. earlier today people booed trump as he walked out of a site in wichita. the businessman canceled a trip to cpac to make a push for support. >> it was very important that i be here i love you all. result >> reporter: the reception at the same wichita site was much warmer for the texas senator. >> we have been able to win over and over again from the grass roots. this process doesn't need to be personal insults.
