camera. it's a busy weekend in south florida. how are things going this year? looking back at day one of the bash. >> from miami-dade, broward and the keys, this is south florida's news good morning. good morning. it's 6:00 on saturday march 19th. thank you for joining us. let's get our first check of the saturday morning weather. and a good morning. >> it's looking like an unsettled day and it's been a warm week we'll keep the warmth around. could see some heavy downpours today and tonight passing storms around. we're ahead of a cold front. a lot of moisture pulled up ahead of the front and passing storms and an unsettled week.

the good news is, if you're on spring break, it's looking great. cooler, clearing skies, temperatures in the 70s as we start the week. the forecast for today looks like this. we will see warm and humid condition storms at times, high near 87 degrees. winds out of the south at 15- 20. tonight, passing storms, low near 72 degrees and the forecast taking us through the weekend into next week. things getting better and cooler by monday. now at 6:00, friends, families and football fans are mourning the loss of a young player from miami. trey walker died last night less than 24 hours after crashing his motorbike. >> family and friends of trey walker kept vigil for hours ever since walker's accident on

friday evening, their worst fears came to pass. >> sadness on display friday evening as family and friends of trey walker, a miami native with the baltimore ravens, died. >> it has been a sad day. >> reporter: he died after suffering injuries from a dirt bike accident. his sister could hardly bear it. >> i love you trey. >> always remember you. >> it appears, walker was riding his dirt bike without lights on a dark street with dark clothing there's a good chance the driver did not see him. >> that was his dream was to get drafted an made it.

he was a good man with a kind heart, he was humble and loved being part of the ravens team. it was a life cut short with dreams unfulfilled >> he came too far, too too far. >> that was the theme we heard from the hospital as well as on social media. one of those teammates sent out a statement that reads football was walker's escape. it hearts my heart he doesn't get a chance to show the world what kind of man and football player he was going to be. new this morning, when the miami hurricanes head back to spring practice today, one member of the team will be absent. the kicker is off of the squad after being busted for a dui. john was arrested after he crashed into a car, stopped at a red light.

when police checked him out. he played as the kickoff specialist and will be a jr. next year. the hurricanes announced he is off the team. you know that sound, downtown miami hosting a massive party this weekend. it's the ultra music festival. an overhead look at the spot ware. tens of thousands of fans will be out in full force for day two. this annual party has brought problems in the past. there's been issues of crowd control. city officials considered kicking them out. so far, so good. we have the wrap-up of day one. it's the event people from around the world look forward

each year. 165,000 people from the u.s. and 87 countries packing in for the ultra music festival and it's in full swing. >> this couple was in the condo overlooking the festival. >> we were watching, we went. we're about to go in. >> something i always wanted to do in life. it's one thing i always wanted to do. >> it's the first big event of the whole year, it determines where the deejay's play through the year, so it's a big deal. >> they know to steer clear of the area friday through sunday. they shut down southbound and northbound traffic cut down to two lanes along the waterfront. >> all around the area, directing traffic time.

flash after the plane went down. dubai flight took off from dubai and the pilot twice attempted to land before the jet crashed at an airport. they posted a statement saying, we are doing all we can to gather information as quickly as possible. at this moment, our thoughts and prayers are with the passengers and the crew onboard the aircraft. now to the war on terror. belgium authorities made an arrest connected to the the paris attack last november and there's a promise for more to come. omar has more. >> reporter: the four month long man hunt for the only paris attackers to escape alive ended friday. police captured him after a gunfight in a neighborhood.

moment he was caught. his legs injured in the raid. prosecutors say he did not immediately surrender or obey orders they discovered his fingerprints during a raid. he helped to plan the paris attacks and was in the city the night they went down. the attacks killed 138 people. they believe he called some friends to pick him up and drive him back to belgium during the attacks. it appears there were more people involved in the planning of the attacks than originally thought. a tragedy at sea. the coast guard confirms that a

the brilliance of the sea is on its way to mexico spotted them yesterday just west of marco island. the refugees said they left cuba 23 days ago. there's been a steady increase of human rafters since the u.s. and cuba normalized relations. meanwhile, the cuban government continues to spruce things up in advance of president obama's arrival on sunday. the old capitol building was under renovations but that's being hurried along now. communists abandoned it because they said it looked too much like the capitol building. we're covering the president's visit starting

welcome back. in news across america, hulk hogan is a winner of a legal site. he was awarded $115 million in his sex tape lawsuit. he was emotional. they showed a video without his consent of him having sex. it will consider punitive damages sunday. >> this is not only his victory, but anyone else who has been victimized by tabloid journalism. >> i'm confident we would prevailed if we could have

we expect to win this case ultimately. >> so gawker plans to appeal. the breakdown of the the 115 million for hogan is 55 million for economic injuries and 50 million for emotional distress. he was only suing for $100 million for the sex tape. an intense scene in utah last night as hundreds gathered outside of a donald trump rally. utah is voting and has 40 delegates up for grabs trump took a shot at one of his biggest critics, mitt romney, a favorite son of utah. >> is this guy a joke? he's a joke artist, i can't believe. are you sure he's a mormon. do i love the mormons.

he tweeted that graham's endorsement was a ginx. the new york times reports that the president privately told doners that the sanders campaign is coming to an end and the parties should unite around clinton. sanders is trailing in the delegate count. >> we received more votes from people under 30. >> clinton is taking a break from the campaign trail to attend private fundraisers in connecticut and virginia. >> now on this saturday morning, we turn it over for a look at the weekend forecast. much of the week has been warm, we're going to hold on to the warmth and we'll see a chance of showers and thunderstorms and a lot of outdoor activities into next

the youth fair as it's called, the miami-dade expo continuing into the week. warm and humid, storms at times and the best chance of downpours, here's the pattern, a lot of moisture, moisture coming up from the caribbean and it's all conversion and the rain chances will be high high rain chances through tomorrow. but then, the early part of the week, it will cool us off and dry us out and things looking very, very nice for the spring breakers coming up. warm and humid for today, storms around, temperatures in the mid-80s and then tonight, with i -- we'll see periods of storms around. and then finally things cool off a bit as the cold front comes through, we'll see temperatures dropping into the low 60s for lows and highs only in the 70s. that's for monday and tuesday.

>> i got my first car, immature enough, my friends say i was doing about 45 miles per hour, i don't remember anything. the roads were wet because of the rain that day. i switched lanes, hit the brakes because there's a car in front and the car hydro planed and hit a palm tree. >> reporter: his best friend was in the car with them and both were seriously hurt. jose was in a coma for ten days. >> there were many doubts about if i was going to survive. hospital. i told my mother, i don't know this. he's either going to pass away vegetable. >> reporter: jose woke up with no recklation of what happened. tasks

>> reporter: pyro tech stuntman is counting his blessings >> first of all, i'm lucky. >> reporter: holding back the tears, he describes the accident that left his face severely burned >> it's like being burned alive and an audience is watching. it happened so fast. >> reporter: thursday, charles was performing at a pep rally in front of the student body in del ray beach. the performer has been making his living doing this work for years and nothing like this has happened before. this time, he made a small change to his act. >> two months ago, i wanted to make my craft better. i'm googling fire breathers and what material they use and what oil they use. they use coleman fuel, the camping stuff. i'll try it. i take full responsibility i should have practiced >> i didn't practice.

now for a cbs 4 exclusive involving the case for a child molester. they say that the police dropped the ball with the investigation. now at least one officer is in trouble for the way the case was handled. police got information that a man was sexual assaulting a girl inside his home according to the the police department investigation, jeffrey jennings, investigated the case but failed to properly handle the investigation. >> two days off work sounds like a vacation to me. >> reporter: she told her story but when she had trouble confronting the coach over the phones, jennings decided the girl may not be telling the truth. the case was cleared with no charges filed. >> i had to live with what carl

i tried to kill myself at one point because i thought i wasn't worthy. >> he never spoke to the children or visited the home to corroborate the story. he knew that the man had access to the gym but did not tell the wife. >> because of that failure, he probably will never serve time for what he did to me. >> reporter: the allegations came to light after he was charged with child porn. he was arrested for the sexual assault of this young woman but prosecutors declined to go forward. the victim hopes he gets what he deserves on the child porn case >> i don't ever want him to have the opportunity to do to anyone

>> the fort lauderdale's police concern, it would require supervised review and going to the da's office. the concern is justice for the victim with regards this case, our policies have been updated which would not allow it to be cleared today it would require review and to go to the state da's office. five new cases of the zika virus reported in florida bringing the total in the state to 67. that includes a fifth case in broward county. broward has nine cases of the virus. to help curb the spread of the virus, they decided to speed up the zika vaccines

now to president obama's historic visit to cuba, he will be the first sitting u.s. president to visit the island since 1928 and it will usher in a new era of openness between cuba and the u.s. already companies are preparing for what could be the biggest changes for havana. >> reporter: walk around havana, change is hard to miss, cuba seems poised to begin a new era of tourism, one with americans on the guest list. >> tour groups are everywhere, many from the u.s. havana's biggest port has been largely cleaned up and now welcomes luxury cruise ships

down after last year's spring break. cell phone captured an unconscious woman being gang raped on a beach. this is panama city beach this year. many beach front businesses are down 80%. neil owns a half dozen hotels and restaurants and says that many business owners think that the crackdown went too far. >> i think, when you take 21 new laws and ordnances and take drinking off of the beach and you pretty much told the college spring breaker don't come here and the kids said see ya. >> it was a hoping beach club last year, not this spring break. the owner is furious. >> normally, this time of the year, approximately 300 staff must bees, we have less than half that now. >> now miami beach has to decide

whether to push the parties somewhere else along the coast next year. >> look at that scene. how is the weather this weekend for the spring breakers we go to craig with the weekend forecast. unfortunately, this weekend is not looking too dry. we have a lot of moisture in the area and showers and thunderstorms moving through possibility of heavy downpours today, tonight and tomorrow. we're ahead of a cold front, the cold front will end the rain, but not before the weekend is done. for your sunday, the same, passing storms. today and tomorrow in the 80s. then this front comes through and it will bring us dryer and cooler air. clearer skies looking great for monday, tuesday and wednesday. low humidities and cool temperatures and lots of blue skies out there. it's not summertime yet.
