continuing coverage of the president's historic trip to cuba. >> the president left about an hour ago. cbs 4 join us live now from havana. it's been a whirlwind few days for the president and you guys. >> . >>reporter: it certainly has lauren and rick. greetings from havana, cuba. for breezy out here. the president delivered a powerful speech that touched on so many points encouraging cubans to embrace the democracy. these had not been touched on in a speech here in this country in decades.

they wanted this to be time and move forward together with the exiles in the united states. >>reporter: and during that speech, he also talked about distance here on the aisle and they're rounded up and met with 13 of them. these are dis-dents like the ladies like we interviewed on sunday. the cuban commission on human rights 2600 detentions have been made so far. they pick them up and take them home for house arrest. what the human rights activist are saying more is happening because more americans are coming here and the government is trying to keep these people have interacting with american visitors. >>reporter: he was able to speak with them here in cuba. this was not shown in the press room. we did not pick that up on our feed in the press room.
