in pinellas county detectives are looking for two men behind several robberies that started last month. the last one was tuesday on gte financial. this one just an attempted armed robbery. the pair walked in arms but something spooked then and they decided to leave and walked out. it's believed to be the same men that robbed a st. pete convenience store along with a bank and gas station in largo. if you know who they are, you're urged to call 1-800-873- tips, crime stoppers. detectives are searching for the gunman that shot and killed three people in a lakeland home. a fourth victim is recovering in the home. maricella burgoes has more. >> reporter: cheryl alexander wants something to change in her neighborhood. she's saddened crime scene tape blocked a home the entire day as deputies investigated a triple homicide.

procession to the service flanked by hundreds of supporters. an update on the 5-year-old killed a year again ago when her father threw her off the dick meisner bridge. phoebe jonchuck's mom hired an attorney and plans on suing dcf. dcf is accused of not following up on two critical phone calls. one warning them that phoebe's father was delusional and phoebe was in danger. dcf made changes after her death but michelle kerr, her mother says it's not enough. >> how many times are you going to do wrong until it's resolved? this isn't the first time. how many times is it going to take? >> a judge ruled phoebe's father, john jonchuck incompetent to stand trial. he's in a state mental hospital

he's due back in court next month. covering pasco county -- parents are using social media to warn the community about a sex offender living near an elementary school. despite a new ordinance he's not breaking laws, that ordinance says sex offenders can't live within 25 feet of where children congregate. but since he was convicted before 2010 and in a different state, the laws don't apply to him. but neighbors are warning each other. >> i already showed my 13-year- old the picture of this man. i asked them to stay clear to be safe. >> the sheriff's office says new random checks are four times a year on all sex offenders in the county. the powerball jackpot is now the largest of any lottery

it's an estimated $675 million. here's a look at last night's powerball numbers. >> i think we won $20 in our office pool. let's look at the forecast for today. if you're planning on a round of golf things are looking pretty decent. we're going to be off to a pretty murky start. a lot of low clouds and if the winds settle down they are at about 10 miles per hour now but if they do come down near calm we could see patchy fog that could create visibility issues, if you're on the course early this morning or hitting the roads. at this point though visibility is looking pretty good. i'll keep you posted on air and twitter with updates, 72 degrees is the high today. the rain chances go up and i'll have more on that in the 7-day forecast. dan? 4:40.

the investigation into underground seismic activity in north korea is not consistent with that country's claim that it tested a hydrogen bomb. the announcement comes after seismographs recorded a 5.1 magnitude earthquake near a nuclear test site but experts say it's not large enough for a hydrogen bomb. if the claims are true it will be the fourth time north korea tested a nuclear weapon since 2006. to an update from washington. this afternoon house speaker paul ryan is going to hold a special ceremony before legislation to repeal the affordable care act to the president's desk. the president already promised to veto the repeal. a gop doesn't have support for an override. video of a 10-year-old girl getting a tsa patdown is going viral and generating a lot of anger. kevin payne said his daughter forgot about a pouch of juice

so i think it's a pretty smooth start. you can see the gray across the area, it thins out closer to noon, that is where if we get that sunshine coming through that we'll see the temperatures warming up to the low, even some mid-70s today. if the clouds linger too much past noon it's going to -- we'll see the temperatures a little lower than that. bottom line is the rain chances remain pretty low, it's not impossible but remains pretty low through sunset tonight and then we see that area of low pressure off-shore building, that's what is going to bring us rain chances for tomorrow. it moves through pretty quickly but again scattered showers will be possible off and on through the day tomorrow. so that is what brings us the rain on friday. about 40% chance you'll see rain in your neighborhood. then on saturday a much higher chance that we're all going to get at least some rain at some point during the day, or into the evening. more likely later in the day

this is our cold front that has picked up some speed. as it rolls through we're going to have a round of some pretty widespread rain, maybe even an isolated thunderstorm or two. we'll at least be off to a mostly dry start to the day. if you want to get in some outdoor fun, try and do it early saturday. or hold off until sunday. that is when the rain will end, before sunrise. then that cooler, drier air moves in through the afternoon keeping our temperatures near steady after noon. then the cooler air kicks into gear as we head into the first of our next workweek. that is florida's most accurate 7-day forecast. i'm on facebook and twitter. let's look now at the morning commute. this is i-4, at thonotossassa road. no trouble spots now. but janelle martinez will tell us what the other bay area roads look like and what you can expect as you hit the roads. the buccaneers are looking

if you wanted continuity for a new quarterback in jameis winston, dirk would give that you even in a coaching change. he's been a head coach before, only at the college level. not necessarily the same success but no, he's probably been the best thing they had going for them this season. you think about jameis winston for 4,000 yards and martin second in the nfl in rushing. they've done that with the new offensive line under the offensive coordinator. >> of course dirk will have to hire himself the very well qualified defensive coordinator. we'll have more clarity on the why and what next when we speak with the general manager later this afternoon. that's your morning sports update. enjoy your day. a semi burst into flames on a massachusetts highway. coming up, an update on the injuries and what the driver says happened right before this fire. >> janet jackson is responding
