family and friends of oughts car ray bolin's victims seeking relief. >> any person who does something like that should be put away or on an island somewhere. >> neighbors of this polk county couple in shock. the extreme measures they are accused of using to punish their daughter. i'm wendy ryan. >> a child's hands ducked tape together. a couple charged with child abuse for going overboard on punishment. >> ryan raiche is live from the neighborhood with reaction from a friend who actually lives with them. ryan. >> reporter: we've been talking to a lot of parents today. and this is very upsetting. sick ening to many of them. this appears to be a classic case of child discipline, morphing into abuse. they apparently crossed the line, disciplining their kids.

let them be prodded into polk county sheriff investigators say ashley and sanchez were at their wits end dealing with their row dekid. their 10-year-old became unruly at this warehouse where they worked as contractors for the ledger. a witness saw the child with duck tape around her wrist and mouth. that's just the beginning. >> as we interviewed the children and the parents, we discovered she was also tased on her behind as a discipline tactic. >> reporter: that's right. tased. with a mini stun gun like this one. punishment that is viewed as inhumane even on farm animals. the incident happened at that lakeland home that they shared with another woman. the kids would run around the house to get away from the stun gun when their parents got it out. >> the message we're sending with the arrests is that's not how you discipline children. we realize that the child may have been out of control, trying to control her but you

with the latest on all of this. michael. >> reporter: jamison, bolin ate his last meal at 10:00 this morning. we asked about how his spirits were. he was calm this morning and he was in good spirits. bolin woke up at 6:00 a.m. this morning. the only visitor he had was his wife. she was able to see him from 8:00 in the morning to 11:00. then he met with a spiritual advisor. if the highest court doesn't intervene, he will die by lethal injection by 6:00 p.m. he murdered three women all were stabbed and beat to death. their bodies found dumped in rural areas. the killing spree ended after he abducted and raped a iowa woman. he pled guilty and was sentenced to 25 to 75 years in prison. in 1990, a tip led investigators straight to bolin for the murders in 1986.

killer bolin's nine lives after convictions, reversals, retrials, death sentences, appeals in the rapes and stabbing deaths of three women, including terry lynn matthews and 25-year-old natalie holly. >> we have been waiting for this a very, very long time. and it's about time. >> reporter: time for what stephanie's brother and friends simply describe as relief. still life goes on despite her loss. >> i have debated on how i'm back. i honestly don't know. but i know that there will be -- i'm not going to be sitting there talking to friends about what happened to my sister and think to myself, well, that guy is still sitting there. that will be over. >> reporter: carson chambers, abc action news. >> reporter: just to put that into perspective, with the legal system he was found

trapped for ten hours. they were trapped 900 feet underground in lancing, new york. the salt mine is the deepest in north america. the elevator stopped working around 11:00 last night. all new tonight at 5:00, two adulls now in jail for beating up a 12-year-old kid at a bus stop in hernando county. sarah rosario has more on the reason that they claim their actions were justified. >> reporter: the two adults are 19 and 20 years old. they live in tampa but came to spring hill to visit family friends. that's when we're told they learned about a neighborhood bully and came to this bus stop to do something about it. the two are still in the hernando county jail after being arrested for beating up a 12-year-old at a bus stop here at the villages of avalon neighborhood in spring hill. >> battery is battery. the law is the law. she did wrong and she is going to pay for it. >> reporter: a family friend

face says that macy is like a niece to her and they were staying with his wife and kids for a week. the kids told the women about a bully. >> the little girl next door has been pushing him around. maybe he likes her. i don't know. >> reporter: the two walked the kids to the bus stop to confront the 12-year-old, smacking him in the face and the back of the head several times, telling deputies he de served it because of his bullying. >> instead of correcting the bully, she became the bully. >> i think sometimes we feel like doing that but you can't act on it. >> reporter: the news spread fast and the family friend tells us the parent of the 12- year-old punished him for bullying and called the cops on the women. now the women will stay in jail until family members pay their jail. >> maybe if they put a little more god in their life and learn true values, then, you know, these kids would be raised better.

things are dry today. that will not be the case tomorrow as we've got rain that will be rolling in. not just friday, but also later saturday into early sunday as well. temperatures right now anywhere from the upper 60s to lower 70s. winds are coming down. we have had a stretch of about four or five days of the windiest weather in quite a while. the winds will ramp back up saturday ahead of the next front. outside right now, 66 degrees. mostly cloudy at the airport. clearwater is sunny. look at the change in direction and wind. this is so often the case in our area. when the winds go southeast or south, those temperatures will start to bump up. and usually it also means more moisture, which is also the case. so as we said, first thing this morning, we did see low cloud cover. it burned off. and then a very nice day. the cloud cover rolling in the gulf. just a little piece of energy we're tracking that may even bring us a few showers overnight.

morning commute, there is a chance of a few showers. now, not a ton. but i will not rule it out. friday morning we already had a wave come through. then another just off shore. and that continues until lunchtime. and then i think by 3:00, 4:00, still scattered showers around. so the way you have to play tomorrow is at any point in time from the morning there could be a period of a half hour, 45-minute rain. nothing severe out of this, just showers. it's out of here. okay. great. the weekend looks good. some of the weekend looks good. because we actually have the front. remember the one we were talking about the past couple of days, the el nino driven storm. watch what happens saturday night into sunday, the front comes in. i just don't think we have a severe weather threat out of this. but it will usher in cooler weather by early next week. extending the forecast a week later, we could very well have the coldest weather and a freeze a week from next monday.

forecast. temperatures for forecast highs with more clouds closer to the coast. upper 60s to mid 70s. again, really depends where you live. anterior counties should see less sunshine and more rain. we see highs possibly in the 60s across part of our viewing area. and near 80 across our southern county. that's florida for, you right? there's the national picture. there's the storm i talked about. the track will continue to come this way, increase being our rain chances again saturday night into early on sunday as well. for the boaters, yes, the winds will peck up again out ahead of that front. seas a couple of feet. moderate chop out on the bay. your sunrise and your sunset. look at florida's most accurate 7-day forecast. 76 on friday. then we go to the cooler air by early next week. how cool you ask? look at the highs. in the 60s both monday and tuesday. morning lows tuesday morning.

cancer society the cancer death rate has fallen 23 percent since its peek in 1991. cancer is already the leading cause of death in 22 states. sugar consumption is one of the major contributors to heart disease. new indict reguidelines just released today urge americans to cut way back on added sugar. according to nutrition experts on average americans consume about 22-teaspoons per day of added sugar. the new government guidelines recommend just 12-teaspoons per day or no more than 10% of daily calories on a 2,000 calorie a day diet. first thoughts were anybody injured, any kids inside. a day care nightmare after an suv slams through the building. and it's not the first time. the measures to keep children safe that the owner says are not working. then fans still reeling
