instead, that kid turned on him. >> more on that beating and attempted carjacking in just a moment but first, we start with breaking news. deputies and hillsborough county searching for >> -- a suspect accused of opening fire on a woman inside her home. >> cameron home arriving on the scene. tellis what's going on. >> reporter: we did just arrived here at the park at chesterfield apartments in tampa pick --. we have seen them looking for clues throughout this investigation. they are telling us that a man busted into this upper story apartment complex. you can see a woman and her child were inside. we are told they knew each other as well. that male suspect fired off a single shot. it did not hit anyone in the apartment. we are told that everyone is okay. we've got some shots to show you from the air as investigators were hear from our helicopter. we do know they have been here throughout the afternoon since about 130.

suspect. they have not identify the suspect. haven't identified the victim either but we are told the victim did suffer some sort of injury in this incident. we are told -- we were not told what the injury was but that it is minor. however, she did not sustain any gunshot wounds. they're looking for that suspect tonight. we will continue to update you throughout the evening. i'm cameron polo, abc action news. >> cameron, thank you. a dade city man is recovering after being beaten up by a 14-year-old he was just trying to help him. that teenager is now behind bars. we are live in hernando county. i understand this is not the first time this kid has been in trouble with the law? >> reporter: you are right about that. the local sheriff tells me this 14-year-old is big trouble. in fact, just last month he was arrested in connection with

late last night, here at the circkle k, he actually went up to this victim and claimed he needed help. he needed a ride home. the kid only lives about a mile from here. the good samaritan says sure, i will give you a ride. about a half mile down the road, the kid pulled out a glass bottle and be the victim, robbed him and attempted to steal his suv as well. >> i'm pretty sure my nose is broken. it really hurts. >> reporter: christopher is pretty battered and bruised. all of this, he says is thanks for trying to be a good guy. >> my teeth are all shattered.>> reporter: he was feeling about this case -- at this gas station when a young kid said he needed a bit of help, a ride home. just about a mile away, he said yes. that, as you can see was a big mistake. as soon as i got up the road, the kid pulled out a bottle and started beating him. he took his iphone and said he wanted his suv as well. >> he took it out of his pocket and started bashing me with it.

it didn't take long for deputies to find the suspect, a 14-year- old known to deputies as a major troublemaker. >> he is definitely getting a reputation of being somebody that we are really going to keep a very close eye on. >>reporter: the sheriff says the same kid was involved in a car theft case in pasco county. an air unit and two canines had to be called in to help track him down. >> i am rodney dunnigan with abc action news. >> reporter: we stopped by the teens home.'s grandmother answered the door but didn't want to answer any questions. his recent list of charges include robbery, carjacking, aggravated battery and resisting an officer. >> if they are going to do adult crimes, they should be treated like an adult. >> reporter: for his part, lineman has learned his lesson. next time, he won't be trusting. now, that 14-year-old has been transferred to a juvenile lockup. he says he would like -- the judge says he would like the case to be transferred but the

to monitor this young man. reporting live, rodney dunnigan . an update we triple murder in lakeland we first told you about on wednesday. tonight, a polk county deputy is looking for this white van ray there. you see it in that surveillance video. it was captured from a nearby business. they believe that van might be connected to those murders. jake peterson is following the developments joining us live with more on the suspects. >> reporter: good evening to you. detectives say they have literally been working around the clock on this case. they now have that surveillance video and they also have some idea of who may be inside. >> their intent was to execute every one of the residents. >> reporter: and it almost happened. david washington and stacy branch, seen here along with angelica castro all found dead. a 4th, felix campos, was shot

he is going to survive. >> reporter: and the sheriff believes those suspects along with that banner most likely now down in south florida. he would like you to share the video. we have it on http://www.abcactionnews.com/. shea the video of that van with your friends and family. an update to the new year's eve murder of a teenager in north tampa. hillsborough county deputies confirmed the arrest of 17-year- old calea everett, charged with the murder of tiziah donaldson. his fiancie witnessed his murder. deputies also believe there is a second suspect other but that person has not yet been identified. donaldson's family is also asking for your help paying for his funeral expenses tonight. the 19-year-old did not have any insurance and his family cannot afford it.

after hercar broke down when the 17 years old got out of his car, he was gunned down by two attackers. a 15years old was also shot. the 18 years old woman waswith the group. they're all expected to survive. this probably cut the engagement party. a manproposed to his girlfriend at a walmart but then he shoplifted at another store at the same night. >> he bought the ring at walmart for $29. laterofficers say he stole from a near by store and taking some adult toys and his girlfriend admitted that she stole some jewelry. right here in the bay area, the steps they are taking at a surprisingly young age of criminals. the only officer charged in
