through 9:00 this morning. so again bundle up as you head out. bring in the plants and pets, not only early this morning but also overnight tonight. we'll have temperature in the same areas that could be near or below freezing. most of our temperatures though are in the 40s now. even 51 in long boat key. so temperature in general are a few degrees colder than they were yesterday at this time but we're going to be about the same through the afternoon. nice and dry, plenty of sunshine and highs today in the low 60s. i'll have the 7-day forecast coming up in a bit. let's check the roads. live at i-275 and ashley drive through downtown no problems to report there. we'll check the roads again in 15 minutes. a major traffic alert for drivers on i-275 northbound into tampa across the bay. a stretch of the interstate is closed for construction. if you're coming off the howard frankland bridge you have to

head to dale mabry to cypress, then hines, eventually back on i-275 northbound. that detour ends 4:30 -- excuse me, 5:30 this morning but we're not off the hook after. that there will be a new traffic pattern on i-275 northbound between lois and himes exit and east expect lanes to look a little skinnier as they reduce the widths of the lanes there. in northeast ohio ohio a family of four confirmed dead after a massive house explosion. neighbors say it happened 8:30 last night in a town 20 miles southeast of cleveland. that blast so powerful it tore off the roof and shook nearby homes. firefighters found the home engulfed in flames. it's unclear what exactly caused the explosion. this morning the islamic state terror group is claiming responsibility for yesterday's deadly terror attack at a mall in iraq's capital. that attack which lasted over an hour left at least 18 dead, 50 others wounded.

>> reporter: 3:30 a man entered the store demanding cash while wielding a knife, safid wasted no time grabbing a pistol, suspect's head. onlookers seem to have no pity praising the clerk. >> you get tired, you work hard and don't need to deal with this garbage. people want to take your life. >> reporter: the store has a history of violence, now with years. justice. >> i've seen god bless one for the good guys. >> police say they looked at surveillance video and spoke to a lone witness, a female customer inside at the attempted robbery to confirm the clerk's story. the suspect, not identified is in critical condition. hundreds of cuban migrants stranded in costa rica are hoping to begin a journey that will bring them to the u.s. for a better life.

stranded in costa rica sinc nicaragua closed the border to them weeks ago the the first group of 180 is expected to leave costa rica today if the cubans can arrive at the u.s. border they will be allowed to enter the country and apply for residency. the 2016 legislative session begins in florida today. that session starting two months earlier than normal this year. governor scott will mark the beginning of the 60-did i session by outlining his priorities for the state during his sixth state of the state speech. scott is trying to sway a divided legislature to pass his $1 billion tax cut package. yesterday the governor went before a legislative committee to try to win over sacramentocal lawmakers. abc action news streams the address upline at 11:00 this morning. watch it live with our free mobile app. it will be a big night for president obama in washington tonight. he will deliver his final state of the union address before a joint session of congress.

>> this is the morning to bundle up. temperatures in citrus and inland hernando counties could fall to near freezing or below freezing. we have a freeze watch in place in those areas. so you definitely can see our temperatures are much colder than what we've seen lately. at a minimum bundle up. otherwise bring the plants and pets inside to the north. and most of the areas in the 40s. st. pete now 53 degrees. sebring 46. lake wales at 46. haines city at 42. zephyrhills at 41. it's a cold start. we're going to see plenty of sunshine and pretty dry day ahead with the exception of our southern counties, may see a stray shower here through sarasota into desoto or highlands county. otherwise the sunny and dry trend continues with high pressure in control through the southeast. very little if any rain expected not only today but the next couple days, as the temperatures gradually warm up.
