as we have seen in days with temperatures well into the 70s. this is what it looked like this morning. and that is a tornado in cape coral. and it is the second time in six days that they have had a tornado touchdown in the cape coral area. that's probably higher odds than powerball. i mean, that just doesn't happen, having it in the exact same spot in florida this time of the year. and yet, it did. and the rains continued. the heavy stormed went right on through areas from sarasota down toward venice. by about noon, 1:00, they were long gone, leading to this. there is one thing that came out of there. decent amount of rainfall. in fact the rainfall totals anywhere from half an inch around the metro area. some areas picked up even more than that. close to an inch. this is the good news. a lot of decent rainfall totals. and i think we've got more in store first thing on sunday morning.

5:18 pm
the rest of the afternoon, the fog burns off and then we will go at least partly sunny and mostly sunny in some areas and warm. with temperatures right back in the mid to upper 70s. but as quickly as we get that, look what happens by sunday morning. i mean, this is almost exactly the same in terms of the setup. the low itself might be a little more to the north. we will be seeing the trailing front. you want to check us out at 11:00 and all weekend long. we will be updating on facebook and abcactionnews.com and bill logan will be here. if things get rough we may come in saturday night into early sunday morning. this could be kind of nasty. i don't think we're necessarily looking at a tornado watch set in stone but it's a possibility. something to keep our eyes on. exactly like today, look what happens sunday afternoon. if you're lucky, you can sleep right through it on sunday morning. and then by later in the day, skies clear.
5:19 pm
