we have some heavy weather rolling through the area tonight. coming up on abc action news next at 11. taking action for you, this is abc action news . a theme park has deep meaning for this family. the special surprise after the loss of parents. >> police and what they say led to the shooting and the different accounts from witnesses. that we are tracking a fast- moving storm heading this way. when will it get? and is some possibility of a tornado.>> we begin with that severe weather heading to the bay area.

well, obviously, this could be the calm before the storm. >> we have had some pretty severe storms moved through on friday morning. right now, we have showers making their way on shore from sarasota on up to the interior parts of the state. let's zoom in. from sarasota all the way over into what shall a -- into the green swamp area. we are seeing some showers come down now. i have seen a few raindrops and south tampa but it looks like the bigger stuff for the tampa metro area is still on the way, probably about 12 to 34 1 o'clock. we have 69 degrees in tampa. clearwater and st. petersburg, 67. cloudy skies headwinds coming out of the southeast.

midnight here 66 degrees. the rains come down big time and we see them draining out by about 8 o'clock dropping down to about 62. will not move much as far as the mercury goes. it will be very cool into martin luther king day, as more on that forecast coming up in a few minutes. abc action news update tonight. overwhelming outrage continues to pour in for a family coping with tragedy. a couple was killed in a car crash on halloween. therefore surviving children are living with family in sarasota. cara joins us now with the show of support for the family and what made it all possible. >> the kids are so resilience considering they lost both of their parents just a few months ago.

the deputy stopped his car just before noon. they say bennett got out of the car and pulled a gun on the deputy. eyewitnesses claim that it was shot several times in the back as he ran away. authorities are reviewing the dash cam video of the shooting. to a disturbing case out of manatee county tonight. deputies have arrested a man they say abused four different girls over the past three years. they charged the 32-year-old with six counts of molestation and detectives showed up at his home in bradenton to investigate the alleged abuse. they say santos abused to 10- year-olds, a nine-year-old and even a five-year-old. all who lived with him. deputies are asking anyone with information to call the manatee county sheriff's office. friends and family celebrate the life of a veteran today.

a breaking news update tonight. all southbound lanes are now back open. after being closed by a rollover crash. we told you earlier about that crash near bruce b downs. a traffic alert. starting tomorrow night, you can expect delays on the sunshine skyway bridge. here's a live look at i-275 on the bridge where crews will be closing one lane in each direction. those closures start sunday night at 7:30 and will be in place monday morning at 6:30. the united states announcing and surprising prisoner swap today setting free five americans being held in iraq. in return, the us will free or drop charges against seven iranians. this comes as sanctions are lifted and iran gets access to $100 billion of frozen assets.

gospel starting at 4 pm. picking up the pieces today after a tornado touched down. people caught in the path of the storm say the sky turned black and they heard what sounded like a train. this before that 18 mile wide twister on friday. the national weather service tells us nef -- and ef-1 tornado was on the ground for 20 minutes. >> it was almost like a roar. i could not distinguish it. >> thankfully, it appears no one was hurt. the cleanup is expected to last for days. >> now, the most accurate weather team in florida. abc, action whether. >> bill, you have been tracking potentially severe weather overnight. >> we do have lines of storms poised over our doorstep. out and about early this evening, everyone is asking when it is going to hit. it looks like right about 1

and most of it is going to be kind of through by the time most folks get up in the morning. let's go ahead and take a look at the specifics for you. rivergate tower cam shows mostly clear right now but there are some clouds out there. and for the to the south, as we showed you, we do have some of those showers making their way on shore near but for right now, in tampa, we are not seeing any appreciable precipitation. but it is coming. it is going to be with us from about 1 o'clock through about 7 o'clock in the morning. storms rolling through overnight. the most dangerous time for the storms to make their presence known because that is when those tornadoes could be most problematic. but it looks as though this is going to be a very fast-moving storm. you should not have more than a 5 to 10% chance of tornadoes but we will be up watching it work and we will watch those

cooler on monday. here is the way things are looking with those clouds and showers moving through to the south of the bay area. temperatures at 61 four sarasota. 65 in st. petersburg. tampa has 69. 66 in lakeland. 61 in haines city. the winds are all over the place. we are seeing some out of the south, out of the southwest, some out of the east but as this front comes through, we will watch things turn from the south to southwest and we will get to northerly breezes letting the cold weather in. 28 in kansas city. 29 in st. louis as that front starts to make its way toward us. still a warm front as it works through the golf but you can see that spin around the area of low pressure and that is going to drive the storms through the area over the next several hours. taking a look at our futurecast, this is the way we think things are going. by 4:30, that will be the brunt

you can see some of those red and orange and yellow areas on the radar. that is where we will have the heaviest weather and the front will move through and that warmer weather will move through. a special high resolution rapid model. we are starting to see some of the heavier rain down through dallas county. and it will move across into hillsboro county. we will see a big swath of rain by 2 o'clock in the morning and we will start to see a bit of a break by 4 o'clock or so. by the time the sun comes up, things will be clearing out and we will begin to see that infection of cooler and drier air into the region and things will clear out. here's how we look at florida's most accurate digital day planner. we will start off with temperatures right around 68 degrees and we are going to watch those temperatures dropped like a rock. by 2 o'clock in the afternoon, 63 degrees.
