across the howard frankland to downtown has been very congested a lately due to new construction patterns. a lot of people take 275 across, when that is backed up they take kennedy. that is starting to get backed up too because a lot of people are using kennedy. of course you have all the lights. another option, take the courtney campbell, get off at the surprise exit and take -- spruce exit and take boy scout to columbus, maybe 275 using himes. if any of you have found another way to get around this traffic backing up on i-275, let me know about it, tweet me @abcactiontraffic. breaking overnight, the taliban now claiming responsibility for a terrorist attack on a pakistani university that left at least 20 students and one professor dead. soldiers and police ended the siege at bacha khan university by killing the four gunmen involved in a intense gun battle.

responsibility was behind a december 2014 attack on an army- run school where more than 144 children died. mansour says today's attack was in revenge for taliban militants by pakistani militants in recent months. a barking dog and smoke detector helped a family get out of a burning valrico home early this morning but six people now need a new place to stay. investigators are still looking into how the fire started. people in a sun city center a neighbor tells us the family's cat woke them up which helped alert them to the flames and smoke. crews tell us the fire may have been electrical but still looking into the exact cause. manatee county homicide detectives are searching for a killer, a young woman's body found in a state park yesterday just dumped on the side of the road. >> abc action news reporter adam winer is tracking the latest on this case from the

what are deputies saying at this point about the victim? >> reporter: we just learned from manatee county sheriffs' deputies overnight that the victim is 23-year-old jordan finland, not a lot of questions answered yet for detectives but that all signs now based on the evidence point to finland being the victim of murder. her body by the way found tuesday afternoon along the 8600 block of bishop harbor road, a road that cuts right through therracia state -- the terracia state park in palmetto. 1reu69ors say it's a quite -- visitors say it's a quiet area, people fish or bike there. detectives there spent the evening collecting evidence there. and they've been tracking down people that know the victim personally trying to answer the big questions including how long the body had been in the woods before she was found. and of course what happened to her.

campaign after an accident in iowa killed one of his campaign volunteers. carson tweeted this photo of himself and the campaign volunteer, this is 25-year-old braden joplin. at a speech last night in nebraska carson called joplin energetic and said his tragic death is a reminder for all of us to make the best of life. three other campaign staffers all survived. former vice presidential candidate sarah palin's son is facing domestic violence charges in alaska. 26-year-old track palin was arrested near anchorage monday night. the arrest report says he punched and kicked his girlfriend then held an assault rifle as if he was about to shoot himself. track palin is now facing several charges including possession of a weapon while intoxicated. 6:25. let's check on meteorologist shay ryan. >> you want the kids bundled up with temperatures much colder this morning especially to the north in citrus and hernando

camera showing it's clear and dry, and again it's those clear conditions overnight that led to the colder temperatures. check out what is going on, in citrus county now. temperatures as low as 27 degrees in homosassa. crystal river now at 31. floral city at 31. inverness at 31. as we head into hernando county you can see temperature near freezing, even below freezing again in hernando beach. if you happen to be in hillsborough county or farther south temperatures have generally been in the mid to upper 30s, even some low 40s closer to the water. so again it's a colder start from top-to-bottom, left-to- right this morning. but as we make our way through the day with lots of sunshine we will be warmer this afternoon, in fact we'll make to it highs in the mid-60s. no rain in sight today, but again with this cold start to the day that is our big concern, so lindsay logue is out in pasco county and she's

terror attack at a university filled with thousands of students. four taliban militants launched that attack in northwestern pakistan shortly after classes opened for the day today. 20 students and one professor were killed. many more injured. soldiers killed those four gunmen during an intense firefight. 6:34. overnight we learned a manatee county couple killed in this weekend's tornado outbreak will be laid to rest saturday morning. steven and kelly wilson's funeral will be at griffith and klein funeral home in bradenton. an ef-2 tornado tore apart their duette home, debris crushed steven and kelly died of an apparent heart attack in an ambulance. police in south florida are trying to figure out how a baby boy wound up dead in a freezer. miami-dade police say they found the 4-month-old boy's body sunday, a woman inside the house claimed she was trying to kill herself, led investigators to the body. she's not facing charges at

more about the owner of several dogs that attacked four people in a central florida apartment. sanford police shot and killed four of those dogs, the only surviving dog is now in the custody of animal control. two women and two boys were attacked yesterday, one of those women suffered life threatening injuries. so far police haven't said who owned the dogs. we've got an update to a horrible case of domestic violence that nearly killed a tampa woman. that is christie dior, beaten unconscious, left for dead. now she says she's just glad jail. christopher anderson is going to be in court today three months after he first went on the run. investigators say he punched her in the face, stomped on her neck while wearing boots and leaving tread marks on her cheek. she need the nine surgeries to reconstruct her face. she says now she no longer lives in fear that anderson again. >> i feel like tonight for the

6:40. the fbi is investigating a possible attack planned at the super bowl. all this following a series of fiber optic cables that were apparently deliberately cut in the san francisco area. investigators say the cut cables could mean someone's testing the network's stability for more complex plots. fbi says the most vulnerable targets at the super bowl will be outside the stadium where crowds gather. investigators say there is no credible threat but they are being vigilant following recent terror attacks in paris and san bernardino, california. the super bowl set for february 7th. the first time we're hearing from the father of the suspected drunk driver saved by actor jamie foxx in california. >> the oscar winning actor

california highway patrol says 32-year-old brett kyle was speeding and driving drunk when he swerved off the road right in front of foxx's mansion. trapped inside. >> that's when foxx ran out and pulled out kyle before the truck burst into flames. yesterday foxx embraced kyle's father, gave him a big hug who says he's grateful his son will survival. can do something when the time is there but the question is, do we? do we act or fear our open lives? he did not. >> i don't look at it as heroic. i look at it like -- you just have to do something. it all just worked out. >> foxx also says another driver who happened to be the emt also stpped to help. we have a map of three bay area counties, that are under a freeze warning now. the temperatures there are already dipping below freezing. shay will keep us up to date on

believe it or not the clouds kept the temperatures a little more mild and so we're at 42 degrees in tampa right now. across the area, farther inland and to the north where we have clearer skies overnight, remember i was telling you, you take the blanket of clouds off and whoo, it gets colder, 30 degrees now in inverness and brooksville. 36 hudson. temperature inland are in the jump 30s to about 40 degrees around bartow. st. pete one of the more mild spots, 49 degrees. so the closer to the beaches the more mild it will be. the bottom line the tempts are so bundle up. that freeze warning is in place for the northern counties from pasco on north through 9:00. well. we're going to have a gorgeous day on thursday but friday is approaches. it's going to bring widespread rain, thunderstorms in the mix, and then behind it much cooler
