how you can help he deputies catch the killer. snowmageddon 2016 may be over but the effects from the blizzard continues to be felt in the nation's capital and even in the tampa bay area. good morning, i'm deiah riley. >> i'm dan shaffer. plant city police are investigating a possible murder. friends and family members have been trying to reach reginald brown. when they didn't hear back from him for nearly two days they got concerned and went to his house yesterday, only to find brown inside his home, dead. plant city police were called. they say they are investigating brown's death as a murder. >> at this point we don't think this is going to be an a issue that's going to compromise the safety of the neighborhood. i want the residents to be aware of that. if you see anything or you've heard something, even if it's

please call the plant city police department. >> so far, police have not named any suspects. abc action news reporter adam weiner is on the scene gathering information from police and we'll update you coming up at 5:00. it's a chilly start, frost and freeze advisories up this morning. here's meteorologist shay ryan. >> if you're in citrus or hernando county, that's where temperatures are down as far as 28 degrees. that will continue through out 9:00 this morning. wesley chapel is at 36, hudson, 39. the coastline is not a concern for those temperatures near or below freezing. you could find frost on your windshield this morning further inland, 36 degrees in lakeland, 38 in arcadia. as we move through the day we've got a lot of sunshine.

we're hitting 50s degrees by 10:00 a.m. by noon we're hitting 60 and we top out in the mid to upper 60s. we have soaking rain ahead had. i'll have more on that coming up in florida's most accurate seven-day. we want to get a look at your morning commute. this is state road 60 and bay ford, closes to the courtney campbell causeway. the westbound lanes are closed because of a crash. two people were taken to the hospital, one person was ejected from a car. car traffic can use the service road as an alternate. janelle will have a full look at the morning commute coming up. manatee county deputies are asking for your help to identify two suspects in a bradenton murder investigation. deputies are releasing surveillance photos from a lawn equipment company on 15th street east. the victim, charles leonard, was shot and killed in the parking lot saturday after getting into a fight with the suspects. deputies believe the suspects

of icials have yet to -- officials have yet to release the name of the person who died. federal government will be closed today as washington, d.c. recovers from that massive weekend blizzard. >> as lawmakers decided last night to cancel voting this week because of the storm, the senate is holding off on their scheduled voting until wednesday. a new jersey neighborhood is devastated after a mother and her 1-year-old son died in the snowstorm. they lost their lives inside their car during the blizzard. they were trying to stay warm inside the running car while the children's father tried clearing two feet of snow. unfortunately, snow blocked the tail pipe, causing carbon monoxide to back up into the car. >> i know that the boy doesn't have life because he's like this.

and tried and the paramedics tried and tried. >> the 3-year-old girl remains in critical condition this morning. police believe it took no more than 15 minutes for carbon monoxide to kill the mother and baby. airlines have cancelled more than 9,000 flights saturday and sunday because of the blizzard and there are more cancellations today. travelers felt the impact of that snowstorm at tampa international. more than 150 flights were cancelled over the weekend. this morning the situation is better. so far, only 10 cancelled flights into or out of tia. nationwide, more than 1300 flights are cancelled to today. new york and washington are continuing to dig out from the blizzard. billow began takes a -- bill logan takes a closer look. >> reporter: the storm may be over, but millions are stuck at home. in new york city, plows are working nonstop, not to mention all the cars buried.

transportation shutdown. folks had to walk in the road to get to work. >> i work in the business complex, so i've got to go there and clear the sidewalks. >> reporter: new york measured just over 26 inches, just shy of the all-time record. in washington, d.c., crews are working overtime, trying to get the airports open. the city had 17 inches of snow, the surrounding area covered by the practice facility for d.c.'s pro football team no dome crushed by the weight of the snow. a similar story outside philadelphia. this church roof buckled and crashed down below. >> there was a gaping hole in the roof. >> reporter: in new jersey coastal communities dealt with snow and icy flood waters.

summer, never seen anything like this in the winter. >> reporter: bill logan, abc action news. severe turbulence injured multiple people on a flight to italy last night. the plane made an emergency canada. seven people, three flight attendance and four passengers, were taken to the hospital for treatment. in florida, a small plane forced to land along a highway in broward county. the captain noticed engine roughness and didn't want to continue the flight. no one on board suffered any injuries. this morning a $50,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of three dangerous inmates who used an elaborate

security jail in southern california. investigators don't know how the men got out of the jail in santa ana after a head count friday you morning. the three got ahold of tools and cut through you a metal screen and steel bars. they crawled through a plumbing tunnel to the jail's roof where they repelled down four stories using homemade rope. >> we're in a position where we absolutely need the public's help. there's people out there that know who these people are, who may have seen them. whether it's any piece of information you may have, obviously if you've seen these people we would ask that you call our hot line. if you see them, call 911. it's very important that you do so. investigators are relying on information from the public as we're exhausting every lead that we currently have. >> the men were jailed separately on murder, kidnapping and attempting murder charges. the sheriffs' office is looking

4:43. in democracy 2016, this morning we're one week away from the iowa caucuses. people living in the hawkeye state will be the first to cast marco rubio continues to campaign in iowa. he trails donald trump and ted cruz in the state. yesterday he concentrated on attacking hillary clinton and the endorsements he received from two major iowa newspapers.

in eastern iowa with iowa's popular freshman senator. on the democratic side, bernie sanders believes he's one week away from doing what president obama did in 2008, upset hillary clinton in the iowa caucus. large crowds continued to gather to hear sanders speak in iowa. he says this shows he's a strong contender for the democratic nomination and believes that energy doesn't exist with the clinton campaign. the former secretary of state has picked up a big endorsement. the boston globe wrote yesterday that clinton would be a better president than sanders, saying she's more seasoned and forward looking than she was in 2008. sanders is currently beating clinton in the polls in massachusetts. michael bloomberg is possibly considering a presidential run.

south into brooksville, 31 degrees, and in zephyrhills it's 36. lakeland and bartow, you're at 34, tampa at 41 degrees. so yeah, you're going to want to one del up as you head out the door. we're off to a colder than average start to the day and with plenty of sunshine, the nice news is we'll have a warmer afternoon than we did yesterday. the winds are shifting from the east to the south today. that will continue our warm-up. it will bring the warmer air in. our next frontal system rolls through starting on wednesday. so mid-week we do have a pretty good rain maker ahead. in fact, take a look, today and tomorrow on the dry side but and some heavy downpours in the mix on wednesday. right now the chance for thunderstorms looks minimal which means that the chance for any severe weather looks very low. that. the reason we still have chances for rain on thursday is

are trying to figure out why a driver crashed through a wall of a parking garage and into the w. hotel last night, injuring a hotel worker. the driver was speeding when he crashed through the wall and ended up in the hotel storage area. police say the driver died at the scene. the injured hotel worker is expected to survive. this morning police in nebraska are mourning the death of one of their k-9 officer. the k-9 officer was shot during a standoff in omaha. after the shooting, police say the gunman eventually surrendered to officers. this morning he's facing several charges including three counts of attempted homicide. if you're looking for a job you may want to head to the airport today. tampa international airport is looking to fill more than 100 positions for shops and restaurants set to open this spring.
