area, away from the beaches, that is. we've had a report here of frost on a car in st. pete this morning. so it is a cold start to the day. this is a look at how clear and dry it is across the area. coldest temperatures are in citrus county this morning, 28 is the lowest i've seen on the map in homassasa. beverly hills and inverness are at 34. as we look at the beach temperatures, this is where it is the most mild but we're still in the upper 30s, low 40s cold enough that you may find frost on your windshield this extra moment to do some scraping if need be. otherwise, temperatures in anywhere from the mid-30s to the upper 30s. you'll want to bundle up from north to south, east to west. we'll make it up to the mid to upper 60s today, no rain in

the commute. janelle, you've already had problems -- not you personally, of course, but on the roads. what's going on out there in. >> a serious crash on the courtney campbell causeway westbound. we have video of the crash, two people taken to the hospital, one person ejected. there's the car right there. this was a hit and run, although police found the suspect and are now questioning him. but again, this does have a westbound lane blocked. this is east of the boat ramp. if you're familiar with the area, there's an access road so cars are getting around this crash on the access road. even though the westbound lanes are blocked, cars are still getting on the bridge. here's a live picture of the tampa side. every once in a while we see cars in the westbound lanes because this isn't blocked. you can get around on the access road. i checked the drive time, we're still at about 11 minutes. so not too bad, only a couple minutes slower than normal. as the morning commute picks up

courtney campbell causeway. looking great, 14 minutes southbound from the apex to i- 4. four minutes if you're starting off at busch to i-4. your average speeds on the interstates, over in pinellas county looking great, pushing 70 right now in both directions from the sunshine sky way down to the howard frankland. happening today, a big day ahead for people out of work, still looking for a job. businesses are hoping to fill more than 100 positions at tampa international airport. we have details on what you need to know. good morning, corey. >> reporter: if you fly out of t.i.a., you may have seen construction barriers like this and all kinds of construction zones working on the new expansion out here, lots of change coming to t.i.a. that means new jobs.

this morning head to the hillsborough county aviation authority boardroom on the third floor of the main terminal where they're looking to fill 125 positions for the new shops and restaurants opening this spring. the jobs range from hourly workers to management even more jobs will be available as additional concessions open down the road. we're talking 65 new shops and restaurants, 40% of them dedicated to local brands. there will be north america's first hard rock cafe in an airport. we posted all the information you need on our website at abcactionnews.com. there's a link to find out everything you need to bring to make sure you can grab one of those new jobs. >> thanks, corey. right now a murder investigation is under way in hillsborough county after a man was found dead in his plant city home last night. police say they're not sure

we do know his name. friends and family lit candles last night in memory of reginald brown. they hadn't heard from him since friday. they discovered his body when they went to check on him. it appears he was shot. in pinellas county charges are pending in a wrong way crash and so far it's the woman has been arrested. a truck hit the woman's car late saturday. driving the wrong direction and tried to run from the scene but the passenger managed to stop him. deputies say it turns out the woman was reportedly driving drunk. she was charged with d.u.i. she was released from jail. charges are pending for the driver of the other car. in the attack on isis, the terror group is releasing a new video showing nine extremeists who carried out the attacks in paris on november 15th.

i'd love bloomberg to come in. >> i'll wait until he becomes a candidate, then we'll have a conversation about our differences. >> a spokesman for the former mayor is declining to comment. this morning florida's junior senator is continuing to campaign across eastern iowa. marco rubio is not attacking his fellow republican rivals. over the weekend in iowa he continued to attack hillary clinton an highlight endorsements he received. voters head to the caucuses next monday in iowa. bernie sanders says he reached more than 50,000 iowa voters in the last few events in the state. over the weekend he says people keep saying things that aren't accurate like how he can't win in the state. he told crowds that isn't true, saying, he quote, we can and will win. the former secretary of state picked up a big endorsement. the boston globe said hillary

she is more seasoned and forward-looking than she was in 2008. president obama says he wouldn't run for a third term even if he could. he said he is confident that things are a lot better in the u.s. than when he came into office. he says when his term ends next january he's happiest about getting out of what he calls the bubble, the tight security controls over his travel outside the white house. he says that's the hardest thing about the presidency. the governor of alaska says he's relieved there wasn't more damage following sunday's earthquake. it knocked things off the shelf at this store. the quake severed gas lines, causing explosions or fires that destroyed four homes. luckily, no one was injured. some people are staying at a shelter. the quake hit over the weekend,

southwest of anchorage. a community meeting over the three week long standoff at an oregon wildlife refuge will not go on as planned today. the judge said he learned of plans to protest the meeting and block the entrance of the building where it would have been held. the judge says an open and honest conversation cannot take place in this type of atmosphere. a matchup for super bowl 50 is set and if las vegas bookies are any sign the carolina panthers will win. they're favored to beat the denver broncos by three and-a- half points. cam newtons was dominant in the panthers win, scoring four touchdowns to lead the team to a 49-15 win. peyton manning came out on top over tom brady, the broncos held on to the lead to win. manning will become the oldest super bowl.

degrees, brooksville at 32. and then as we look at the rest of the area, most of us are somewhere between the mid to upper 30s, certainly want to bundle up as you head out today. this afternoon temperatures will be about 10 degrees warmer than they were yesterday and with less wind it should be pretty comfortable. for tomorrow we're going to start off the day quite a bit warmer, at least on the mild side, still probably want that extra layer but temperatures mainly in the low 50s but ending the day at 72. pretty gorgeous day. and then our next cold front arrives on wednesday. so here's the way it goes. the front arrives and then just kind of stalls out on top of us and an area of low pressure works its way along the front. we will see a washout on wednesday. on thursday, it will be more hit or miss or off and on through the day, more dry hours in the mix and we'll have pockets of heavy rain both days. but overall, we're looking at a pretty wet trend at least for those two days with temperatures on the cooler side due to the extra cloud cover and rain.

friday. that's when we start our morning in the 40s, maybe some upper 30s to the north and then end the day in the low to mid- 60s. saturday, for gasparilla, looking decent overall. in fact, as the invasion starts around 11:30 in the morning, temperatures will be close to 60 degrees. we'll be topping out in the mid- 60s and the parade at 2:00, no rain in sight. so overall, looking like a pretty fantastic weekend ahead whatever your plans may be. that's florida's most accurate seven-day forecast. update on what's going on on the roads. what's happening, janelle? >> we're following a crash on the courtney campbell causeway. here's a look at the tampa side of the bridge. the crash is further back right near the both ramp. westbound into clearwater because they're able to get around this crash site through an access road even though right now the westbound lanes

here's the tampa side, cars getting through. i want to show you this crash on the map so you can see what we're talking about. here's the courtney campbell, shows the westbound lanes closed. we're still averaging about 40 miles an hour through this area, although fhp says we can expect this bridge, the westbound lanes to stay closed for at least a couple of hours. so as more cars hit the road and try to get across the bridge we will start to see backups. at that point you might want to take tampa road through oldsmar or the howard frankland of the gandy bridge. i'll keep my eye on this. this is a live look at i-4 west of i-75. traffic is picking up a little bit but no crashes or breakdowns to talk about right now. 21 minutes from county line road to downtown, 14 minutes from county line road to 75 and seven minutes from 75 to 275.

board is okay but they're certainly shaken up after a small plane was forced to happened along the highway in broward county. the pilot noticed engine roughness and didn't want to risk continuing the flight. it was headed to the keys. he he had two passengers with him but everybody is okay. this morning severe turbulence is blamed for sending three flight attendants and four passengers on a flight to the hospital. the jet made an emergency landing in newfoundland, canada. one passenger said she thought she was going to die, telling reporters the plane rolled on its side and dropped twice. a gun battle over a $25 service charge left a father and son dead. the argument started at a gun

check out this winter wonderland as new york gets back to normal after the big snow. you can see people walking on the sidewalks and they're not slipping and sliding a at the moment, so looks like the snow is cleared and the sidewalks have been treated well with some salt, at least in that area. now, in our area we don't have to worry about any of that, do we, even though we have cold temperatures this morning, some of them near or below freezing. the worst that's going to happen due to thoses cold

right now at 6:00, all westbound lanes of the courtney campbell causeway are shut down because of a serious crash. >> at least one of the victims is 20 years old. we're hearing he's seriously injured. >> janelle has the key alternates you should take this morning. >> they have the access road open. this happened near the boat ramp. you can get onto the courtney campbell westbound and take the access road around. we aren't seeing huge backups across the courtney campbell headed into clearwater. but as more cars hit the road and try to get across the bridge we could start to see backups develop. i'm going to keep my eye on it. let's open up the cameras and we can take a look. your average speed, about 40 the howard frankland and the gandy looking great right now, both about 60 miles an hour.
