live from the station abc action news. >> a dead woman, a delirious man and two monkeys. police of what happened inside a bay area hotel room. good evening, wendy ryan has the night off. northville police are using the word murder. >> -- aren't using the word the -- murder. but it is definitely a suspicious case. >> reporter: they are still investigating and they were surprised when they showed up to the budget in and found a woman who wasn't alive, a man

>> probably a first for us. >> inside room 115 inside the budget in, north shore detectives found these two small monkeys. >> we call florida fish and wildlife. they were in their crates. they were not running around. >> reporter: the monkeys belonged to a man who was not -- was also staying in the room. detectives say he was acting erratically when they showed up and on the bed was the body of linda smith of arcadia. detectives believe smith had been dead for a few hours and they didn't see any signs of trauma on her body. they also found a note in the room, but they aren't telling us what they -- what it said. one of the managers of the hotel said they checked in yesterday afternoon and they were supposed to check out at 11:00 a.m. today. when they didn't the other manager knocked on the door and when no one answered opened it. detectives say this is an isolated incident.

warming up in the low 60s by lunchtime ending up in the upper 60s but for the invasion, the forecast looks good, a lot of sunshine and temperatures eventually up near 70 degrees. that is until the rains come later on next week. we will pinpoint the details in a couple minutes. tonight deputies in st. cloud are searching for four men who tied up and terrorized a family for nearly 12 hours. they say they forced their way into the home, tying the mother and daughter and kidnapping of mothers boyfriend and beating him. two suspects drove away with a boyfriend and two stayed behind to watch the mom and daughter. eventually all the suspects left. neighbors are still trying to grasp what happened in their community. >> i'm worried about my family. this is a pretty good neighborhood that we get outsiders coming in here and -- you just don't know. >> they say the family was targeted and they don't believe

was injured. tonight the pinellas county sheriff calling eight beauty -- decorated deputy a liar. he's charged with intentionally shooting a handcuffed man. they are live in the date -- madeira beach at the scene of the shooting. michael? >> reporter: it was almost a month ago that the sheriff was right here and he said that this shooting was justified. he said 48 hours later he realized things work right and he launched an investigation and that is when he realized that his deputy was lying. dash cam video captured the audio but not what led to it, he said enough evidence was found since the december 30 shooting to charge the former deputy timothy virden with attempted manslaughter. >> the words that came out of his mouth were i meant to shooting. it wasn't an accident and i intentionally pulled that trigger. >> in a 45 minute news

his cruiser was riddled with bullets and his head bearing the scars of a close call. he says timothy virden was the picture of law enforcement. a decade later his attorney says he is lucky he is in facing harsher chargers. -- charges. >> reporter: we are still first arraignment will be. thank you, a winter haven woman now facing charges of the murder of a lake alfred softball coach. a grand jury found he made false statements and tampered with evidence in the case. he was shot in his own driveway back in august. his coworker often drink and is behind bars charged with his death. his relationship is still unknown at this time. he's behind bars on a $270,000 bond. police making an arrest in a november accident that nearly

she was high on meth when she drove across one lane of traffic and hit a girl who suffered severe head trauma and tried to -- she tried to drive away but a witness ran over and grabbed the keys out of her hands. >> we know she is impaired by something but what is it? $30,000. she's recovering from her injuries. they finally caught a suspect accused of doing creepy things to female realtors working at bay area model homes. deputies charging him with two counts of battery. we are told he would show interest in a home and then get uncomfortably close to the realtor. look down their shirts and even smell them.

in michigan woman now telling her side of a traffic stop. she says a police officer asked her to shake her bra multiple times. dashboard camera video showing the woman shaking her bra, she was pulled over because her turn signal was not working. then it turns into a search for drugs with a police dog. a passenger in the car apparently admitting to having a small amount of marijuana. that's when she says the officer asked her to get out and shake her bra. calling the whole thing embarrassing. >> i feel like i was sexually intimidated, violated and very embarrassing. she's now asking for 50 the -- $50,000 to settle it. she was pulled over for a broken headlight in 2013. a police dog searching her for drugs, then an officer asking her to shake her bra multiple times. the department down the officer

-- abc action weather. >> they are making fun of x- files. >> what a bummer. here is a look outside. a little breezy and certainly clouds around but compared to what we've had the last couple days, it's awfully nice with temperatures on the cool side across our northern counties, mid-40s and low 50s, wesley chapel over to spring hill mid- 40s in citrus county. mid-50s in the rest of the viewing area. tampa checking in at 57 and partly cloudy, clearwater clear, 50 degrees so tomorrow morning will definitely be a chilly start but nothing to worry about. if you are getting out bright and early for gasparilla, the weather really should be awfully nice . we ended up at 65 today, six degrees shy of the normal high of 71, the

by the way -- i think they are going to be back up around 80 degrees on tuesday, maybe upper 70s on monday. but cloud cover -- there it is. this extends all the way across the gulf, all the way across mexico and into the pacific ocean. that long southern stream of the jet continues to bring in this cloud cover. and there is a look at the water vapor and you can really see it but it isn't one giant mass of clouds. there are breaks in it so tomorrow what you'll see is some sunshine, some overcast, a little bit of everything but just not enough moisture with it. overnight tonight partly cloudy skies, more sun thing clouds -- then clouds. and then overnight more cloud cover rolls in

overcast, it will be that high cloud cover with cirrus clouds that just do -- just give a milky look to the sky. no more rain until monday or tuesday. it's hinting at wednesday on the european model. through next weekend and into early next week for most of our area pretty quiet, so a little bit of a break from the rain and from all the cold air as we warm back up to around 80 degrees early next week. forecast size on saturday about where we should be, maybe a few degrees closer -- cooler closer to the beach. so that will cool off the coastal areas but as you go inland especially east of i-75 you are going to see low 70s tomorrow and you will likely see 80 degrees by monday and again on tuesday. i talked about that southern
