you pass this. i'll keep an eye on it. i-275 at fowler, pretty empty now, not a lot of cars, up to speed, no crashes or breakdowns there. checking the drive times all the way from the apex, 13 minutes to get to i-4 on 275. four minutes from busch to i-4 and 6 minutes if you're starting in downtown and heading to the howard frankland bridge. quick check of the veterans, in the green, a lot of construction wrapping up. 18 minutes from 54 to 275. we have a watermain break and some repairs going on in downtown tampa at ashley, more 5:02. breaking news -- a man is in critical condition after he was bowl party. abc action news headed straight to the scene getting this video after police tipped us off. they say around 12:30 this morning two guests attending the party on 20th street north got into an argument, it

couple of shots and hit the victim in the face, he's in the hospital in critical condition. the suspect fled the scene, police still working to identify him. pasco county deputies need your help to find a fugitive they consider highly dangerous. the suspect stands accused of trying to kill a deputy. abc action news reporter corey dierdorff is live in hudson with a look at how this whole thing unfolded. good morning, corey. >> reporter: good morning. it all happened here in the parking lot of that domino's pizza on state road 52 in hudson, pasco police say they were trying to arrest a man on an outstanding warrant when he backed up on them and took off. deputies are looking for 26- year-old jerocton williams. pasco detectives say he was outside of the domino's on him. they say williams put his car in reverse, sped towards

he was in an infiniti 2008 g7. he has a criminal past. in addition to the charges on the outstanding warrants, now he'll face charges of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and crime stoppers of tampa bay offering a $3,000 reward to put williams back behind bars. if you have any information you're asked to contact police. 5:04. celebrations as the broncos take the super bowl title against the panthers. coach getting the traditional dousing in gatorade. >> fans spilled the party on the streets where police stood by as the crowds celebrated through the night. peyton manning coming out on top with the 200th win of his career in the second super bowl he became the first quarterback to win an nfl title with two different teams. >> the game turned into a defensive struggle as the newton.

made two game-changing plays, twice stripping the ball from newton. denver recovered both fumbles. on this jackson picked up the ball and rumled into the end zone giving the broncos an early 10-0 lead. miller again with the strip setting up another denver touchdown giving quarterback peyton manning his second super bowl title and recordsetting 200th nfl victory. stay with us, we'll break down the best intel commercials in the next half-hour. arrest at the florida state fair. when a group of protesters are hauled off in handcuffs this weekend. that group, many affiliated with the black lives matter movement now facing charges after blocking the entrance to the fair. the protesters say they wanted to bring attention to the death of andrew joseph iii, 14-year- old hit and killed on i-4 two years ago after being kicked out of the fair. deputies say while the demonstrators were mostly peaceful they arrested some who were trespassing and chained themselves together refusing to leave. deputies say their actions were a safety concern even stopping

it was clearly their internet, i asked them, appealed to their sense of right and gave them one last chance to leave, they indicated they were absolutely going to be arrested and there was nothing we could do to dissuade them from that. >> we're still here. people are still getting arrested. people are still dying in police custody. people are still dying unarmed. >> we're not going away. >> we're not. until we get justice for our people. >> after the arrests the fairground gates were cleared and guests could enter again. the fair has a designated spot for protesters nearby. a new port richey family has a warning for people this their neighborhood about squatters breaking into homes. alicia meddling and ella star locked up their home on 4th street to visit a sick family member in orlando for a few weeks. they came back and found their home ransacked with some things stolen. they say their home was left a disaster. >> there was a section in one of the corners where it looked

the floor and peeing and pooping. don't think just because you leave and lock the doors you can come back a couple of months later and expect things to still be the way they were. >> eventually police arrested a woman on a burglary charge but the family thinks more people were in the home. they are trying to get back on their feet but they say it's difficult because they don't have insurance. in polk county deputies are trying to figure out if weather may have played a role in a horrific crash that killed three children and left several other victimsfyinging for their lives. the -- fighting for their lives. the impact left debris across cypress parkway. deputies say saturday night one car fishtailed near laurel avenue spinning head on into another car. a 6-year-old in the first car died and 6-year-old and 8-year- old in the other car died. three other children and four adults are in the hospital. deputies say it's possible that wet roads were a factor. several people stopped to try to help.

at the man tampa police arrested for a deadly stabbing. donny mathis was tracked down late saturday. officers say he first pushed a woman into a puddle at florida and nebraska avenues friday night and a man she was with was stabbed with a knife. we're still awaiting the name of the victim to be released. witness tells detectives that mathis tried to wash the blood off the knife. mathis is now facing second degree murder charges. happening today -- the bay area gets ready to celebrate black history month >> we're just in fact hours away from the 28th annual city of tampa black history celebrations. it pays tribute to african- american music legends. this year's theme, celebrating the power of music past and present. the mayor is expected to attend, at the tampa convention center. starts at 11:00, it's free but there is a fee to park at the tampa convention center garage. heads up for drivers who

this week c csx is closing several areas for repairs. they will be closed through friday. drivers will still be able to cross the tracks at 15th, 16th, 21st and 22nd streets. all crossings should reopen by friday. 5:09. good news as you head to the pump. gas prices still falling across the country, dropping 8 cents over the past couple of weeks. in tampa you'll pay an average of $1.72 a gallon. the average across the state is a little higher, $1.79. our area is more in line with the national average which is right now $1.74. mondays are a little harder to get out of bed. certainly when it's this chilly makes it even more difficult. bundle up. temperatures this morning into the low to mid-40s. there will be a milder trend by the afternoon. we're going to jump a good 20 degrees. temperatures in the mid-60s but are we going to go in that

good morning. we have a crash to tell you about with injuries eastbound i- 4 as you approach the connector. you can see there some flashing lights. looks like one lane is blocked, seeing just a slight delay, i'll keep an eye on it and let you know if we see any more delays coming up in a few minutes. 5:14. many people are looking forward to mardi gras like this, held in new orleans over the weekend. but police are looking for the person that fired gunshots along the parade route last night. no one was hurt. the parade was temporarily delayed though. police did find a gun in the area and the gunman may have escaped into the crowd. so far no arrests. police in southern mississippi are also looking for a gunman who opened fire at a mardi gras parade killing two men and wounding four more. officers were directing traffic in the area when they heard

police say a fight broke out before the shooting started. police are still investigating. 5:15. new overnight -- we're learning that two survivors were pulled from the rubble two days after a powerful earthquake killed at least 36 people in taiwan. you're looking now at a bird's eye view where survivors were found in a toppled highrise apartment building. local media in taiwan is reporting a woman called out here i am, to rescue crews who were canvassing the area. another man was pulled from the rubble where the 17-story building collapsed. rescuers say they also found signs of life from a woman and 8-year-old girl who were both trapped. crews think more than 100 people though are still buried. we have to work on this forecast. be careful what you wish for. we were talking about the cooler temperatures and now it's just getting out of hand. temperatures in the low to mid- 30s once again as we wake up this morning.

a milder 52 degrees off st. pete. that's the usual milder spot with the wind off the water. just a little component and that is enough to keep you from bottoming out too much, but the rest of us really very chilly. in fact that is going to continue over the next couple of days. this pattern is just really a front. we're talking about gusty winds taking over again. see this low, this is going to be a big snowstorm for the northeast. blizzard warnings at this hour across the northeast, several inches of accumulation. for us this secondary low will push in, so we don't have a break as far as the winds. it will turn gusty again this afternoon outs of the south and west, on the back side of the front as it comes through tonight, enough moisture there with a couple of showers but the story really is going to be the winds over the next several days. we have boating conditions that are just going to be, well, shut off at this point. we have gale watches in effect for the waters here. watch on futurecast, not much as far as rain showers, just that front coming in, the winds will shift out of the south and

then we really turn gusty as far as the winds tomorrow, 25 to 30, perhaps even higher gusts into the mid-30s through the afternoon. that is going to be a problem. and the direction is also going to be an issue. we may have a west wind coming in, that is going to favor rip currents across the area. so if you are traveling and you're here on vacation for this week temperatures are going to be cool and unfortunately the winds are going to be strong. we're going to have to watch that closely. there may even be some beach erosion. that is how strong and lasting the winds are going to be. highs this afternoon into the mid-60s. we'll check on the extended forecast and see if we can work on milder temperatures. right now though here's janelle. if you drive through downtown tampa be aware, we have construction going on for the next few days. you can see the barricades there. this is ashley, there was a watermain break so they are doing those repairs today through wednesday. you can see all the barricades, one southbound turn lane there on ashley between madison and kennedy, blocked so you can

kennedy but just might be a little congested, especially during the morning commute. if you do run into any delays you can always take tampa road that way. that would be a little easier, hopefully not as congested but we'll keep an eye on it, when it starts to get congested on ashley i'll let you know here and on twitter @tampabaytraffic. still watching a crash on i-4 just before the connector in the eastbound lanes, a road block, this is a crash with injuries, again no delays, still very early but i'll keep an eye on it and let you know if we do run into delays. also reports of a crash in the northbound lanes of 275 approaching mlk. however, it is wide open and i've been checking several cameras in this area. so if there is a crash it doesn't seem to be causing any trouble out there. again make sure you follow me on twitter @tampabaytraffic for the latest on your morning drive. 5:18. chaos erupts at a western new

when a fight quickly escalated into a deadly shooting. police say one person died and seven others are hospitalized. morning. 29-year-old died at the scene. the seven others suffered non life-threatening injuries. police say 40 people in the area at the time of the incident are being interviewed. the investigation ongoing, no arrests so far. crews in new york city were working through the night to try to reopen the road where a crane collapsed over the weekend killing one person. that 560-foot long structure came crashing down on friday. it left tangled wreckage that stretched for roughly two blocks. it took crews until last night to cut those pieces into 35 parts and haul them away. investigators will examine the pieces to try to figure out what went wrong. crews had to repair a watermain well. 5:19. still ahead -- one lunch spot won't be open today.

closing every store nationwide for a food safety meeting. the move comes after an e. coli outbreak at the chain last year that sickened 500 people. chipotle restaurants are scheduled to be closed from 11:00 to 3:00 today. last week the cdc announced it appears the outbreak is over, the cause though remains unknown. 5:25. if you don't have insurance or can't afford to take your kids to the dentist. today only get low cost children's dental care. it's on pasco avenue in dade city and offering $15 dental services for children and teens under age 18 but only for 12 morning. a limited number of walkin slots are available so get there early. kids though have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. for more information call 352-518-2000. violence disrupts a super bowl party in a tampa neighborhood.
