over the weekend. the 6-year-old was with her dad and asked to use the women's restroom on her own friday night around 8:00 p.m. she was in a stall when the suspect forced open the door and tried to cover her mouth with his hand. took off. when he is a white male 19 to 25 years old, 5'3 to 5'6, short dark hair with a possible mustache and may have been with two females while inside the mall. detectives say the dad was waiting outside the bathroom and did report to police the 6- year-old was not hurt. she was shaken up, though. back to you. right now take a look at the man on the screen. cops say he's very dangerous,

deputy in hudson. when pasco deputies tried arrested him for an outstanding warrant in a purple 2-door infiniti with a tag ebkb19. if you know where he's at, call crime stoppers and you could be eligible for a $3,000 reward. police are looking for the guy accused of shooting another man in the face after a super bowl party. we don't know what started the argument but there was alcohol involved, according to the cops. this happened at a house on 20th street north. that man is in critical condition right now and we are still trying to get a name on him. now for the race to the white house on the eve of the

legit. two teens cult a hole in the fence at falkenburg academy and there is still a reward for anthony cook. both were in juvenile detention for stealing cars. we have all heard stories about fish contaminated with mercury and other toxins. but scientists say the fish in the ocean today actually have lower levels of toxic substances than in any time in nearly 50 years. there were significant drops in mercury and credit clean water regulations and efforts to keep

now another page for passengers on a cruise they say was horrifying. people on board royal caribbean's anthem of the seas saw damaged ceilings and more. that ship is heading back to new jersey to be inspected. it was headed down the east coast when hurricane force winds slammed it for hours on end. one panel posted this video of even worse. the ship rocked nearly 45 degrees and an estimated 30- foot waves along with wind more than 100 miles an hour. four people were hurt. we are told they are only minor injuries. but why in the world were they on the water if it was that bad?

most of the country was drier than usual, here in the lighter colors. but florida had a lot more rain than usual. this was the fourth wettest january we have ever had, almost 6 inches of rain, which is 3 inches above average. and there's one part of the country that could see the opposite in the future. >> reporter: a federally funded study published thursday argues the southwest is moving into a climate where droughts will be more frequent. they identified broad storm patterns and know the three most connected to precipitation have become increasingly rare. the leader of the study says a normal year in the southwest is more of a drought than it used to be.

to shift the dry climates to normal. california is a good example. scientist have said droughts could last days or decades. one researcher said, we consider the last 150 years or so to be normal. but you don't have to go far back at all. what could be in the future for california is a dry period during the wet period. the national center for atmospheric study supports theories of a drier climate in the southwest, hoping to conserve and disperse water appropriately.

we are only 8 days in and we did have -- you remember saturday. friends were saying, you work for the news, how did you not know it was going to rain? >> that was a difficult day to nail down that timing. the bottom line is we have had a decent amount of rain here in the first week, so we are already over a half inch above average for rainfall in february. four days, though, above average temperatures, so we have some cooler and drier days ahead. it will be interesting to see how it comes together by the end of the month. so far we're ahead for rain and we have had a mixed bag when it comes to temperatures. right now temperatures across hillsborough county, we're warmer than yesterday, up to 64

are usually cooler are not today. they're right about where we are. so the question is, are we going to continue? we have a cold front rolling through. you can see the extra clouds here tonight, even up until 10:00 tonight with a chance of showers. then with the stronger winds coming in tomorrow, we could get a brief sprinkle or some drizzle, a lot of cloud cover for sure, especially in the first part of the day. by 4:30, we'll see more sunshine and the drier air starting to filter in. for the next four days, tomorrow you'll notice the gusty winds and maybe a shower early in the day, a high only of 58. by the time we get to friday, we are in the mid- to upper 60s, still below average. of course we'll have the updates on the seven-day forecast and let you know what
