ivan, folks are going to notice the blustery winds. >> yes, it's been terrible since last night, southwesterly winds and now northwesterly winds. it's bringing in the colder air mass now. we're going to talk about this lake wind advisory that continues in effect through today. really no business out there with the boating conditions that are going to be downright dangerous. we have gales that are going to continue for today. the current winds, 10 to 15, as much as 20 miles an hour but the story as well will be the wind gusts. we'll be approaching 30, in fact sometimes 35, we've had wind gusts in the 30s through that is a problem. we talked about that yesterday. continuing to see at this hour hour winds. by the way the tropical storm- force winds in the upper 30s. we're going to get close to that later this afternoon. don't need that. we have the front that already moved through and very strong winds coming in out of the north and west. look at the current temperatures now this is going to be very similar to what

later this afternoon. that is the temperatures are not going to be moving that much. we're going to stay in the 50s, it's going to feel like it's in the 40s. then tonight we'll be talking about wind chills in the 30s. less windy tomorrow so may not have as much of an issue with the winds but certainly this morning you talked about the skyway already having the high wind advisory. that is going to continue all day. >> people just need to have both hands on the wheel especially if they are driving the high profile vehicles. corey dierdorff is on i-75 southbound around fletcher, no problems to report. he just checked on the incident on i-75 northbound in pasco where that overpass -- that truck hit the overpass, closed all night but it's back open so you shouldn't see any delays. they are northbound i-75. and you can see southbound i-75 looking great as well. here's a look at i-275 around ashley drive. we've been talking about this

overnight crews out there not only put back a lane lane but opened a new one. so we're hoping to see relief on 275 northbound because it's been a nightmare for drivers the past month or so, adding about 15 minutes to drive times. we'll definitely watch that and see how that is shaping up. we have this incident on the veterans expressway, some debris in the road southbound around waters blocking a lane there. doesn't seem to be affecting your drive at all. all traffic indicators are in the green but just be aware, stay alert if you're driving on the veterans because fhp is reporting something on the roads but your drive times in the veterans in the green at the moment. it's 5:32 now. the polk county school board is set to meet this morning for the first time since the superintendent was cleared of harassment charges, both leroy and the associate superintendent greg rivers who

expected to be at that meeting. reporter rodney dunigan is in polk county now. is the board expected to address this issue today? >> reporter: the school board chair is actually expected to address this issue, in fact they may actually hold a separate meeting to address this issue. despite the fact that the school board has cleared the superintendent of the sexual harassment claims some question now if they believe that she actually has the gusto, so to speak to leave the school district. to give you a roundabout of this story for folks that haven't heard about it -- the associate superintendent greg rivers claimed she sexually harassed him and even threatened his employment. this is part of a nine-part complaint he filed, investigators discovered the two may have developed though he a personal relationship over the years, meeting for drinks on several occasions and buying gifts for one another. in his claims rivers said that the superintendent tried to actually kiss him at an out of town conference and invited him

claimed that when he stopped their romance she became investigators found that the board found no board policies this. however, they do say that board members and administrators may need to go through sexual harassment training. it was just recently, earlier this week in fact that the superintendent actually released a statement with the production company that she produced, basically explaining why she believes that the claims are false and that she never harassed anyone and never did anything wrong. of course we'll have much more on that this morning at 6:30. this morning's board meeting starts at 9:00. let me tell you, it is expected to be pretty interesting. reporting live in bartow, rodney dunigan, abc action news. 5:34. as you wake up this morning the first votes have already been cast in new hampshire. the polls in three towns there opened at midnight. >> presidential candidates are trying to drum up support as

in fact registered voters in the tiny down of dixville notch already made their decisions. all four registered democrats voted for bernie sanders. three registered republicans voted for john kasich, two voted for donald trump. first votes of the -- first in the nation primary will be counted today in two other tiny communities where primary prime days last all of five minutes. while donald trump and bernie sanders enter with strong leads in the polls the focus has been on governors. former florida governor jeb bush, ohio governor john kasich and new jersey governor chris christie. they are trying to hold off senator marco rubio who started with a strong third-place finish in iowa but faltered in saturday night's debate in new hampshire. on the democratic side polls show a double-digit lead for bernie sanders over hillary clinton. the weather though could affect turnout today. snow and messy roads could keep people from going to the polls.

upcoming dates in the presidential race. both republicans and democrats are holding debates later this week. clinton and sanders will debate thursday night in wisconsin while the republicans debate saturday in south carolina. nevada and south carolina hold caucuses in primaries february 20th and 23rd. here in florida you have just one week left to register to vote or change your party affiliation for the march 15th primary. 5:36. in an effort to reduce gun violence here in hillsborough county crime stoppers of tampa bay and local law enforcement are teeming up to announce a new reward program. full details of that program are set to be announced at 10:00 this morning. last year tampa police and hillsborough county deputies investigated over 1,500 crimes involving guns including 42 murders. turning now to ferguson, missouri. we're learning of a department of justice agreement that could cost the city more than $3.5 million in the first year alone. that agreement spells out new reforms for the city, comes

shooting of michael brown. there are a lot of questions now about whether the city can even afford this type of agreement. the city council is expected to decide today whether to adopt the agreement, if it does not pass a federal civil rights lawsuit could then follow. meanwhile, attorney general loretta lynch will be visiting six cities starting this week to highlight their police departments. yesterday lynch said these upcoming sites were picked because they embody a particular successful quality of policing such as effective use of data. the first visit is in miami dade county thursday and friday. other locations are portland, indianapolis, fayetteville, north carolina, phoenix and los angeles. we're looking at why it took three months to arrest a hillsborough county deputy facing felony molestation charges for a crime in october. deputy tyson boyd is a 13-year sheriff's office veteran, now on unpaid leave. warrants detailing the arrest last month alleged the crime took place on halloween. accused of inappropriately touching a girl between 12 and

her to touch him. shocked neighbors we spoke to say they had a community halloween party outside that night. it's hard to believe because i was glad he was parked out there with his police car. >> if there's enough evidence to make an effort it's disturbing -- arrest it's disturbing. >> the sheriff's office says it suspended boyd minutes after learning of his release and said there's no press release because even though he's a deputy his case is handled by zephyrhills police. he's set to go before a judge march 3rd. in central florida some officers under investigation for shooting into the wrong home. winter garden police responded to a domestic call at the wrong house, the homeowner said they banged on his door after 1:00 a.m. he claims they didn't identify themselves as police when he asked who was there. the homeowner got his gun and heard an officer scream gun and bullets started flying. no one inside was hurt.

wind chill, you need to go below 50 for that but it's going to feel cold and that's how it goes. wind gusts 25 to 30 miles per that continues. as dan mentioned, lake wind advisories and of course that gale warning that continues for the bays, small craft advisory obviously, you have no business on the water today. as we look at this potent front that came through. it didn't come through with showers and thunderstorms of any significant fashion here. pretty dry stuff here, dry frontal passage but it's brought us those very gusty northwest to westerly winds. futurecast depicting more than i think we're going to get, but there are going to be a few isolated showers that move through. that is nothing organized. that is just essentially the wind picking up the moisture off the gulf and bringing it to us in the form of clouds and some showers. again coverage not too bad. we'll talk about the extended forecast as we head into the next couple of days. first let's check out the roads

restaurants really safe? in a special "dirty dining" investigation our i-team looked through inspection reports for 35 chipotle restaurants. in hillsborough, pinellas, polk, manatee, sarasota and pasco counties. here's what we uncovered. in january inspectors walked into chipotle on cortez road west in bradenton and saw a live wild bird flying around the restaurant. with open food at the front line exposed to possible contamination. according to the inspection report the manager says he was aware of that wild bird and it's a regular nuisance. but he was not aware the front door was held opal lowing wild animals to -- held open allowing wild animals to get in. they were called in to remove the bird but when they came the next day, live bird still there. during that same visit inspectors discovered leafy greens at improper temperatures, raw chicken and raw beef, a cross contamination issue and hand sink not

wind gusts 30, 35 miles per hour, with temperature in the 50s. that combination is going to make it feel miserable today. we also have a lot of clouds rolling in. isolated showers at 20% coverage. i think we'll be ok though as far as that goes, but again windy and cold with highs only in the 50s. well below normal and even chillier as we head through tonight. we have a warm-up. i'll talk about that in the next hour of abc action news. 5:55. check out this scary moment caught on camera, a leopard mauling three people at a school campus in india, you can see men running for their lives as that big cat chases them around a swimming pool and through the corridors of a building. officials say that 6-year-old male leopard came from a nearby forest. after an all-day chase he was finally tranquilized and taken to a wildlife park. we got a hands on some new numbers overnight that shows 2015 was a deadly year for shark attacks. the florida museum of natural history says last year set a record of 98 unprovoked shark
