the now tablespoon starts right now -- the now tampa bay starts right now. breaking news as we come on the air at four. the now tampa bay confirming in the past 30 minutes, polk county superintendent katherine laroy has resigned. she submitted her resignation before the polk county school board decided if she was going to be fired. this stems from a relationship with greg rivers, reporter ryan raiche is working on the new developments right now. we'll have a lot more coming up tonight on abc action news at five. we want you to take a look at the line at the usf sun dome. all the people waiting for the trump rally. we have been out there all day long on the ground. carson, that crowd is huge. interesting to me. a lot of people you talked to say they aren't going to vote for trump. >> reporter: some say they are.

person. some have made up their minds. they want to get a glimpse inside the sun dome. look at this line, all the way it is critical. he's got strong support in southern states, but on march 15 march 15th, that is when the presidential primary will hit in florida and other big states, north carolina, ohio, illinois, so those states, those big states going to come very very quickly, and all in a timing very critical here. now, we met tammy picket a little bit earlier today. you are first in line, and you're from leesburg. >> my mother made this. she's 90 years old in the nursing home. >> reporter: you have met him before, right. >> i have met him. tennessee.

autographs for over an hour after his speech. >> reporter: good luck tonight. we hope you get the autograph. there's a group of protesters expected to show up. we have been out here all day. no sign of them yet. we expect them shortly. as soon as we get them, we'll bridge it live. i'm carson chambers for the now, back to you. we want to look at the democratic side. rallies happening at this moment. you see bill clinton in senate, ohio, obviously campaigning for his wife hillary. hillary is in denmark, south carolina. that's about an hour south of columbia. ahead of the primary there on february 27th: republicans will vote the saturday before on the 20th. and today she's weighing in on the spread of the virus, zika, supporting the president's almost $2 billion plan to fight the virus, and in the last two hours, new information in from the florida department of health. they're telling us there are two new cases. one of those cases happening in
4:04 pm
which is right here. they have another case. we are holding at three here in hillsborough county. so now there are 20 cases of zika in florida. and right now taking a live look at i-275 at ashley drive, a much different scene than we saw this morning after a deadly wrong way crash. that's the video at the top of your screen there. for the first time, we are hearing the 911 call and the man on the phone with dispatch who really jumped right in to help. >> anyone trapped in the vehicle? >> yes. both of them. i have a pulse on one of them. >> let me use your baton. i need to break this so i can get the doors unlocked on the other side. >> that crash happened at 5:30 this morning. it took about five hours, however, for investigators to clear the scene. it wasn't until this afternoon that we learned who was behind the wheel. deputies say the man who was driving the wrong way was 47- year-old larry thompson. we're waiting to hear if alcohol or drugs were involved here.

our partners over at newsy explain. this is the titanic 2. well, not actually. this is just video mock up of what the titanic 2 will look like. it looks eerily similar to the original titanic, right. that's what australian billionaire clive palmer is going for. they are building a fully functional replica. titanic 2 will reportedly host 840 cabins, split up in first, second and third class, just like the original ship. it will also have amenities including a squash court, tuckish baths and a grand staircase that align with the original design features of the titanic and everyone on board will reportedly get a set of 1912 inspired clothes to wear, so kind of morbid, especially since more than 1500 people

there are some important differences to note. palmer says the new ship will have enough lifeboats for everyone and upto date satellite controls, digital navigation and radar systems. it's being built in china, and will travel to duabi. no word on whether jack and rose will be on board for the maiden voyage. i'm katie link. watch newsy on your tv with

proposal to make the seats bigger was shot down in a house committee meeting today. we told you earlier this week that a congressman was trying to make it happen, with bigger seats. he said it was a safety and a health concern. he's worried about it because he says the average width of a seat has gone from 18 inches to around 16 inches. he says he's not giving up, though. he says he's going to try to add the bill again when the debate over faa funding comes to the house floor. and happening now, a historic meeting between the head of the catholic church and the head of the russian orthodox church just wrapping up in cuba. they had a lot to catch up on, too. this is their first meeting in nearly a thousand years since the church split. pope francis tweeted before today's meeting, it was a gift from god. it's not going to wipe away years of distrust. both sides are saying it's an important relation between the two churches. holy sites destroyed, is pushing them together. we're also gathering new images right now, apparently the pope

vets also find women's underwear, socks and earrings in pets, while they all require immediate action, vets say chocolate carries the biggest chemical risk. >> chocolate has a chemical similar to caffeine, which if dogs ingest it, and there's certain degrees of how bad, can cause restlessness, vomiting, diarrhea, anxiety, and all the way up to seizures. >> if your pet does find its way into your chocolate stash on valentine's day, carter says to call your vet immediately or call the poison control. well, still ahead, how this guy pulled off probably the most clever craig's list scam and got away with it almost a $7000 rolex. plus, what you need to know right now to snag one of the open jobs at the pinellas sheriff's office.

really he had the real watch in his pocket. that guy, still on the run. right now, the pinellas county sheriff's office is hiring but it's important to know it's not as easy as you might think to get a job there. they have the positions posted on their facebook page right now. a number of positions, two school crossing guards, fleet technicians and more. they link you to apply here. they do not hire tobacco user and they test to see applicants have used tobacco in the six months prior to when they applied. some positions require a polygraph, psychological or drug screening. you want to know this if you're thinking about a job with the pinellas sheriff's office. that way you can put your best foot forward in the application process. with that, i feel like it's every day we're telling people, there's a new scam. now google is trying to help. they have introduced two new security measures this week. your gmail will now show a question mark instead of

we commit our lives to the sisterhood. >> sister kate and sister darcy aren't the kind of nuns you're thinking. >> when congress declared pizza a vegetable, i declared myself a nun. >> reporter: they aren't even catholic. >> if you look at what makes a sister, those are the things. >> reporter: their core belief is in the healing power of cdc, a found in marijuana plants. they take this weed and put it in crock pots with nut oil. it hardens into salves. they sell them on etsy. >> it's usually full. we're selling out so fast, we're struggling to keep up with demand. >> reporter: their products don't make you high, but they sure do bring in high profits. 400,000-dollar a year. and it appears these sisters have a monopoly because they're breaking the law. >> everything we're doing is

a national monument is a federally protected area, similar to a national park, and we want to show you, too, some more perspective here. there are well over a hundred national monuments across the u.s. you can kind of see that here. four are right here in florida. they have been established by different presidents since 1906. now, compared to national parks, there are more than 400 of those. the national park service says a record 292 million people visited national parks last year. we want to go back to lauren now with a view of historic fenway park in boston, unlike anything we have ever seen. >> they are trading grass for snow. look how cool this is, literally 150 feet. can you believe that, that's how big that ramp is, and it's over at the baseball stadium, top skiers and snowboarder are there right now for the event called big air fenway. they actually get to ski right down into home plate. >> that is awesome.
