police tell us around 5:00 yesterday afternoon the boy was playing with a cat outside his yale street home, went into a crawlspace and found that gun. he brought the revolver on the court and shot it in the ground. luckily no one was hurt. officers say the gun isn't registered and they believe someone likely hid it under the house. a bradenton man shot by a deputy after he got into a fight with his wife. manatee county sheriff's office says donna stoddard called 911 because she was worried about her and her son's safety. she told deputies her husband had been drinking, had a knife, threatened to harm her and himself. deputies arrived and found mark stoddard with a knife. they asked him to drop it, when he came at them one of the deputies fired killing him. that deputy is on paid leave as that shooting is investigated. update on florida's most accurate 7-day forecast. ivan cabrera now. >> indeed. good morning. temperatures now in the 50s and low 60s.

scorched i think we have more cloud -- saturday and sunday i think we have more cloud occur on the way. no weather-related issues on the roads but as we widen out out the view, i think showers and thunderstorms will be with us overnight tonight and early tuesday. i think a pretty good line of showers and storms with heavy rainfall. for us today with the additional cloud cover and southeast wind 20% chance of afternoon showers, nothing heavy or severe, temperatures in the mid-70s. we'll have the extended forecast and talking about the timing of the heavier rain coming up. quick check of traffic at 4:32. live look at i-275, howard frankland bridge. there's a fatal accident being investigated now, two northbound lanes are closed, we'll check the roads again in 15 minutes. so expect a few minor delays through there, not too much in the way of heavy traffic at this time. overnight a fatal crash

u.s. 19 near ridge road and -- in port richey. that happened 12:30 this morning. a witness says the biker was likely speeding and slammed into the back of the semi. the motorcyclist was killed, the truck driver wasn't injured. two teens including a 15- year-old boy facing serious charges accused of robbing three people at gunpoint. >> it happened at two apartment complexes along dale mabry highway in carol cara spoke with one of the victims. >> reporter: her face bruised. left eye swollen shut. the as a result of a violent attack she endured right outside her apartment early sunday morning. >> i'm thankful to be alive. >> reporter: martinez was just getting out of her car when deputies say this man, 128-year- old nicholas gillam jumped her, grabbed her purse.

alone or at least let her get her meds out of her purse. >> he pulled out his gun so i paused and looked and i just said lord, please be with me. >> reporter: the worst was yet to come. a 16-year-old would join in on the brutal attack. >> the black guy came out of nowhere and they both -- he hit me in the face with the gun, and the other guy was kicking me. >> reporter: vanessa made it up the stairs to her apartment triggering the unit's alarm descent help but frustrated no one else who heard her screams came to her aid. >> that's the saddest part. because regardless of -- you could still call 911. >> reporter: more shots were fired just down the road in the same apartment complex. a man beaten and robbed, bullets fired through his front door hitting his roommate in the leg. the two so scared they moved out, the two teens weren't done. they hit this neighboring

and stealing from a third victim before getting arrested. martinez has nothing to say to her attackers, only describing them this way. >> they are just pathetic. this morning former new york governor elliot spitzer is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a woman in a manhattan hotel room. that 25-year-old victim told police spitzer is her boyfriend and he choked her inside his hotel room in midtown manhattan. spitzer resigned as new york's governor in 2008 during a prostitution scandal. a spokeswoman for spitzer says there is no truth to the assault allegations. this morning michigan's governor wants more federal aid to help thousands more people impacted by the flint water crisis. governor rick snyder wants to expand medicaid coverage for pregnant women and those under 21 years old who have been exposed to the flint lead- contaminated water. the u.s. surgeon general is planning to visit flint tomorrow.

answer any questions they may investigators are trying to determine who placed a bomb in a rental car in new mexico. a mechanic found the explosive after the car was returned to the albuquerque airport yesterday morning. the bomb squad was called out, disarmed the bomb. both fbi and atf are conducting this morning australian police announced one of the largest drug busts in the country's history. officers seed $700 million worth of methamphetamine or ice and 4 1/2 pounds of crystal meth. police say the drugs came from china and hong kong. >> this is a devastating blow for the organized criminal gangs that are peddling us and shows you that if you you do target the australian market we'll have the powers and resources to prosecute you, in this case because of the ranch quantity of the drugs, the people involved could be in

>> the four suspects who were charged with importing and manufacturing the drugs are due in court next month. this morning north korean leader kim jong un is ordering his country's scientists to press ahead with more satellite launches. kim says the recent launch struck a telling blow to pyongyang's enemies who are trying to keep his country from advancing scientifically. last week the u.s. increased sanctions against north korea over the february 7th rocket launch. many believe the launches are only tests for the north's nuclear program. this morning there are still no words on funeral arrangements for the supreme court justice antonin scalia. >> lawmakers are already arguing over who should name his successor. >> reporter: a hearse carried the body of scalia to the airport for a final flight home as a battle for his seat on the supreme court is brewing. >> i plan to fulfill my constitutional responsibilities

the single digits. it's in the 20s in dc where around the nation's capital which is being hit by snow now. a mix of sleet and freezing rain is forecast. that same storm system caused multiple accidents along i-65 yesterday. there were so many accidents in highway to allow emergency crews to respond to treat the injured. >> to see all these cars all of a sudden just -- and semis turn sideways and cars, pieces all over the road. we saw people walking up the exit ramp to go to the mcdonald's to go to the restroom. >> between 40 and 50 cars and trucks were involved in a series of crashes along a 2- mile stretch of i-65, at least 10 people were taken to the hospital with injuries. ivan has a look at the florida's most accurate 7-day forecast on this monday. a lot of kids out of school today? >> yes.

at one point 65 and 74, both closed here, you can see the squall that moved through with very heavy snowfall. further south and east we're going to be looking at a line of showers and storms rolling through but it won't arrive until overnight tonight and into early tomorrow. out ahead of that front by the way, still a southeasterly wind today, will give us more cloud cover and also the potential for some isolated showers. nothing too heavy or widespread but by later today some changes here. so if you're headed to the fair, anything you're doing outside it will not be a copy of yesterday and saturday, so a little more cloud cover out there today as we start with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s. by this afternoon. we'll warm up nicely, we'll talk about temperatures approaching mid-70s despite the cloud cover, with that southeasterly wind. here's futurecast, not doing much through the early part of the day but by afternoon as we get a little heating we'll pop a couple of showers, then you see, especially across the interior i'm thinking as we head through later this afternoon and into the

problematic for us. a look at the clock, 2:30 a.m. and then between 4:00 and 7:00 a.m., look at that, heavy line of showers and thunderstorms rolling through, some embedded thunderstorms, i don't think the severe weather threat is significant for us. that mainly to our north up towards the panhandle. so for today, partly sunny, isolated afternoon showers and looking at the morning commute. this is i-275 near the howard frankland bridge. we see some flashing lights now. pretty slow traffic moving in that area. looks like a lot of looky loos trying to find out what is going on. janelle is watching the traffic cameras, we'll have an update in 10 minutes or so. caught on camera -- a bus burst into flames just minutes after a group of students got off it. the high schoolers were on a ski trip when things took a terrifying turn. the group was from seattle. they were just a mile from the
