we're going to have pockets of very dense fog, we're talking under a quarter-mile in spots. use extreme caution. then there you see a quarter mile then your next door neighbor 10-mile visibility which is unlimited essentially. that is the issue. and janelle is going to show you the different traffic cameras depicting just that, very foggy ones and ones not as foggy. so this is not a widespread from top-to-bottom fog situation here which makes it more dangerous. so certainly be careful and we'll talk about the futurecast, this is important as to when the fog lifts. watch the stations there fipg to get going. around 8:00 you see the visibility somewhat improving but still pockets of dense fog. that is 8:00. of course by 9:00 and 10:00 we'll lift the fog as we get the sunshine. and then we're in pretty good shape i think as far as temperatures. right now 49 ruskin. 44, almost 30s in crystal river. we're going to hit the low 70s regardless though by the time

fog, that gives way of course to sunshine. i would show you the visibility in some of the pockets but i think what is extremely important, you overlay what roads are impacted. >> corey dierdorff is driving on one of the roads now. he's behind the wheel on i-4 heading through plant city. lots of fog. he tells me he thinks it's about a half-mile visibility in that area. so again we've been saying it all morning but slow down, leave extra time. use those low beams. definitely do not use the high beams. that makes it even worse. i just want to contrast the fog we're seeing there on i-4 in plant city, with what we're seeing in downtown tampa. looks clear here on 275, this is at ashley drive. so again i guess this is technically what we would call patchy fog. so hit and miss as far as the fog goes this morning. this is the map ivan was talking about. shows us where we're seeing fog now. that is the area you see in yellow. this is the area corey was driving through along i-4 and plant city.

your speeds, if i tap the map it will pop up. let's see fit works. i was showing over 70 on i-4 now, not the time to be speeding when it's this foggy. you definitely want to slow limit. back to you. it's 5:33. breaking news we've been telling you about in bradenton. a shooting that sent one person to the hospital early this morning. abc action news anchor lindsay logue just arrived on scene. do we know yet if authorities are looking for the shooter right now? >> reporter: they are. at least one. i just got done speaking to deputies on the scene and they say the man was shot in the middle of the street in front of this house. this is 114 59th avenue east. just after 2:00 this morning deputies have just left the scene but say this investigation is just beginning.

not give me a suspect description. they didn't say whether the shooter knows the victim, but the man shot is in the hospital and did survive. and when he wakes up, out of surgery, can possibly id the person who shot him. again, all the deputies about a doses or so deputies were just on scene moments ago, and have all just left to go back to the sheriff's department to begin this investigation. again one person shot on the streets in bradenton, we're going to stay out here all morning and bring you live updates as soon as we get them. live in bradenton, lindsay logue, abc action news. time 5:34. apple is fighting an order to help the fbi. that order requires the company to help the fbi hack into an encrypted i-phone used by one of the shooters in last december's san bernardino terror attack. i-phones are programmed to erase all their data after 10 unsuccessful login temperatures. the fbi wants to bypass that feature so it can uncover the evidence linking side to possibly other isis

in democracy 2016 -- the six remaining republican presidential candidates have just three he days to go to convince south carolina voters to vote for them. tonight and tomorrow those voters will get the chance to ask the candidates questions during televised town hall meetings. senators ted cruz and marco rubio and dr. ben carson will be there tonight. jeb bush, john kasich and donald trump are set for tomorrow. meanwhile a tweet that former florida governor jeb bush posted is going viral but not in a good way. the post again, went viral, he posted on twitter the words "america" with an image of a gun engraved with the name governor jeb bush. the backlash and jokes quickly flooded thirty. bush posted it after visiting a high security firearm company in columbia, south carolina yesterday morning. flooded twitter. after a poll in south carolina he has 10% support of hikely gop voters. he's in fourth place behind donald trump, ted cruz and marco rubio. on the democratic side,

and got eyebrow raising support. rapper killer mike spoke to the crowd. he said enough of the political games, we deserve better. then quoted feminist jane elliot saying a uterus doesn't qualify you to be president. the social media called the comment sexist. killer mike is defending himself this morning saying he was only quoting what a progressive activist woman said to him. 5:37. u.s. air force is showing north korea just how powerful our military is. as tensions remain high following pyongyang's rocket launch. four f-22 stealth fighter jets flew over south korea near a u.s. air base today. the high-tech planes are capable of sneaking past radar undetected. north korea will likely view the planes as a threat as they are a clear show of force against the country. last month the u.s. sent a b-52 bomber capable of scareying nuclear weapons to korea following the fourth nuclear test.

thank you for joining us on this early wednesday morning. it's foggy, patchy very dense fog in places. 5:42. use extra caution. temperatures now in the low 50s. very cool. details on traffic and weather together and whether the fog is affecting anything coming up. clearwater police are asking us to warn you about summer rental scams. police saying crooks are posting bogus rental ads on craigslist and collecting rent on properties they don't even own. officers telling us they've been seeing 20 cases in fact in the last two months. one homeowner says a scammer used an old mls listing from when his property was on the market. >> the old pictures, old ad word for word posted on craigslist as a vacation rentsal and make the price so low that it's almost impossible to believe. >> detectives tell us a legitimate craigslist ad will never include an mls water mark and another red flag, if the price ties good to be true it's probably a fake. we have an update on a story we first brought you last week.

police say she tried to kill the barber who cut her hair after she was upset with a style he gave her. here's the haircut that 29-year- old adrienne swayne lot of week, manny montero is the barber who cut her hair, known for shaved designs. according to court records swayne spent a substantial amount of time in the shop and montero said she seemed happy with the cut and came back 20 minutes later with a loaded gun. she tried to fire it and it jammed. she's in jail now on $750,000 bail. we're dealing with the fog out there, dense in areas. temperatures now in the low 50s. look at the winds, calm, skies are clear and that set the stage for some very foggy conditions. there are pockets where it is not as dense so use caution as you travel the roads. janelle will tell you whim ones are impacted in a second.

we've seen visibility to zero particularly in lakeland. the usual spots across the interior where the fog tends to get a little denser. temperatures now, pretty good range, low 40s, crystal river and brooksville. 57 in st. pete and tampa, 52. then things will warm up. 7-day forecast, low 70s which is typical for this time of year, but by friday we'll warm up a little more. i think we'll hit mid-70s. full sunshine the next three days. as we head into the weekend much more of the same. after saturday and sunday, a few more clouds but certainly nothing that would filter the sunshine. i think we're good. 75, 75 on both weekend days. so a good stretch of fine weather but it's february, we still get cold fronts running through. i think the next one moves in, it's coming in a little later than i was thinking yesterday so now instead of monday we're looking at some rain coming in by the time we get to tuesday with coverage at about 30%. let's get back on the foggy

corey dierdorff is driving in the fog. this? >> reporter: good morning. it's definitely patchy. we've been on i-4 all the way from tampa to lakeland now. like you've said it's very patchy, in some areas, like lakeland. several miles down the road. now 10 miles behind me in plant visibility. as you head out make sure you know you will be encountering thicker areas of fog and lighter areas of fog. right now i-4 eastbound and westbound from lakeland to tampa looking great both ways. if you're heading through the brandon area we're seeing some thick fog there. look at i-75 at state road 60, traffic though up to speed in this area and no crashes or breakdowns. this is a map that will show you exactly where the fog is right now. it seems to have dissipated in the sarasota area where we were seeing some fog a little earlier this morning, but we

so if you're driving up the suncoast parkway this morning you definitely want to use caution. use those low beams out there. checking the average speeds, all in the green on the veterans, 275 and i-75. back to you. an important consumer alert for anyone that shops at whole foods. the grocery store chain is recalling a cheese sold right here in florida because it may potentially cause fatal food poisoning. that cheese sold only in stores in west palm beach and one in new york city. it's called pecarino aged cheese with walnut leaves, may be contaminated with listeria, with the code 290107. customers should throw it out or bring to it whole foods for a full refund. wendy ryan's latest "dirty dining" reporting on brocato's sandwich shop.

state inspectors wrote them up for more than 200 violations in less than a year. inspectors even issued a stop sale on 30 pounds of food because that food was improperly cooled and at dangerous temperatures. michael bro cato's family has owned the restaurant since 1948 and allowed wendy ryan into the kitchen. mike at says they are working with state regulators and says they have nothing to hide. >> wanted to talk to you about the recent inspection reports. you had quite a list of administrative complaints and follow-up inspections. stop sales, temperature issues. >> can you come back here please for me if you don't mind? >> reporter: absolutely. >> brocato's has also repeat violations for a kitchen area. he says they are working on enclosing that area and it takes time and money so he's been missing deadlines.

you are up with abc and look at that. foggy conditions. this is not representative of every road in the tampa bay area now. in fact most roads are in pretty decent shape but there are pockets of dense fog and where it is dense we're talking about less than a quarter mile visibility. in case in point in clearwater, st. pete airport, reporting full visibility. then you get into the fog. patchy fog and dense as well across portions of interior counties.

visibility up to two miles in bradenton. forecast for today though, once the fog lifts, 8:00, 9:00 a.m., then we look great, upper 60s. low 70s by the evening commute. 5:53. south dakota is on track to become the first state in the nation to tell transgender students which bathrooms they must use. the state senate approved a bill that requires transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their sex at birth, not the gender with which they identify. some transgender rights activists say before the governor signs the bill he should talk to the people that it would be affecting. >> i think it's important for governor dugard to remember as he stands behind the statement that he has never -- that he he cannot recall meeting a transgender person, that these bills are about real people and he has responsibility to sit down with some of his -- some of the people who actually vote for him to hear their voices.

6:00. we're tracking fog on this early wednesday morning and could make for a dicey commute as you prepare for work and school. >> the picture on the lefthand side, i shot that on my way in, at dale mabry. there was fog in the lutz area, once i hit carolwood it was gone just like that. you're going to be driving clear and then all of a sudden you hit dense fog so certainly use caution, as we check on conditions now. we're looking at a quarter-mile

lakeland the usual spots as you head inland, a little more patchy. venice a half-mile. sarasota at three. then clearwater now reporting 10 miles so fog beginning to lift in some pockets. brooksville still at half-mile. so definitely patchy but where it is developing and has developed it is dense. so you want to use the low beams and slow down. temperatures in the low 50s. then we'll climb back into the 60s by the time we get into lunch. evening commute in the low 70s. is it the densest worst fog we've ever seen? no. but, as you drive around just use caution and you'll get to work just fine. >> you may want to leave a little early in case drivers are a little slow out there. corey dierdorff is driving in polk county. he says that where he's at now, around the lake alfred area it's pretty clear. a little earlier on i-4 in plant city very thick. so again this is what we call patchy fog. so it just depends and you want to be prepared to put on the

any fog. this map here can tell us exactly where we're seeing the fog now. the areas shaded in yellow. a little bit in sarasota. if we zoom in we can see we have fog in spring hill. if you're driving up the suncoast parkway you may want to use caution there. along i-4 mainly east of i-75 to plant city. this is where we're seeing the thickest of it now. as i open up my cameras, let's see if it works, let's open up the cameras and we can look at what the foggy conditions look like on i-4 there. look at that. hard to see when you're driving around. so again just use caution as you head otothis morning. out this morning. we've confirmed in the last hour a church in haines city badly damaged after it caught fire last night with congregation members still inside. it's on 26th street north. we're told everyone got out safely, our crew is heading to the scene now and we'll go to
