boater killed after his boat flipped in hillsboro county on a small pond near turkey creek road. 1-year-old jose perez bravo tried to swim to shore but didn't make it. antonio lopez, the other man on the boat, was not injured. various tow truck drivers are paying respects to one of their own hit and killed in a hit and run crash. >> roger perez died this month helping another driver. we have more now on the unique tribute. >> reporter: chances are you don't think about tow trucks much unless you need one. >> we ask john q. public to remember us. we are here for you. >> reporter: perez was helping a driver when police say allison huffman hit and killed him in this car and left the scene. >> it hurts.

>> a life is a life, and now it's gone. big changes are coming to popular parks in tampa. >> a major face-lift will require closing two parks and starting crowks a third -- construction on a third new park. >> reporter: what an absolutely gorgeous day to be outside. we have a lot of kiddos outside, and this green area will be transformed and closing the play ground as part of a $1.5 million grant for the park with a huge overhaul. both of the parks here have not had a makeover in decades, and there will be a first of its

the soccer field will be regraded. over the bridge, the soccer equipment will be removed and a playground installed. in a few weeks, play areas in both parks will be closed. residents sea they are sad that they will be off limits for a while but they are looking forward to the changes. >> the residents are looking at this long-term, and we can't have people in the park while it's being renovated. we will try and make it as minimally invasive for the residents as possible. you can tell them it needs to be rehabbed. and there are so many parks in the area that you are not bound for 1 park. it's not that big of a deal. >> reporter: renovations are expected to be completed by the middle of the summer or so and

developing tonight, an ohio pastor is dead after police say he was gunned down during church service by his own brother. 70-year-old william schuler was shot at the pulpit while the choir was singing. he died at the hospital. officers arrested his brother. another shooting, a rookie police officer killed in virginia. authorities revealed it was her first full day on the job.
