weather is going to play an important role in getting a lot of people to the polls. >> what is the weather going to look like? so many states today. >> we'll focus in on the southeast. i think there will be significant issues there and will impact voting, no question about it. let's go to the board and show you what is going to be happening. let's highlight first what states are voting for today. then we'll zoom in across the areas that i think will be an issue. across the north looking good. just light snow in portions of colorado and wyoming. looking good there but look across the southeast. this is going to be a big deal. it's going to be happening during a vote -- voting hours between 4:00 and 7:00. we have a pretty nasty line of thunderstorms rolling through. that is going to impact portions of alabama and heading into georgia as well. including the atlanta metro. watch the clock before the polls close. around 6:30, 7:00.

warm up to the mid and upper 70s. warmer than we should be this time of year. i'm not going to complain about that. as we talk about temperatures that could be much colder this time of year. not going to be as we check in across the rest of the tampa bay area. looking at 40s across the nature coast. usually colder spots, inverness, brooksville, tampa 62. and st. pete looking pretty good. hour by hour forecast, pick your hour, full sunshine throughout the day, blue skies and temperatures again warming up into the mid to upper 70s. low humidity as well. titan doppler radar scanning tampa and the rest of the peninsula here, looks good, that is -- widening out a little more we'll show you how pressure in charge, sinking air, we won't be able to make clouds today because of that but upstream, the front is going to be making its way through the southeastern with severe weather. by the time that front gets to us and it will tomorrow. very weak, just a few clouds, 10% to 20% chance of showers. don't have to worry about severe weather.

mid and upper 70s. along the coast, a little cooler there because of the sea breeze that will develop. it's not going to be uncomfortable, temperatures there holding back into the low 70s. that -- rain chances for wednesday, not expecting much but what the front will to, dry us out and cool us off a little, 55 to start thursday. then another boundary moves through. another weak one friday clearing us out in time for the weekend with temperatures in the 70s, a lot of sunshine. let's get the latest from the traffic center. >> backups now after the fatal crash in gibsonton we've been following. we have some video. you can see the southbound lanes of i-75 completely blocked while crews are out there investigating. a motorcyclist was killed when that cyclist ran into the back of another car. i want to show you on a map, here's where you can see this backup building starting around riverview drive. you might want to think of getting off i-75 further north,

around and avoiding this congested area there. i'll keep an eye on it and let you know if the backups start to build. elsewhere across the bay area we're in great shape. here's the howard frankland, less than 10 minutes to get across the howard frankland and the other three bridges. on i-4 your drive into downtown tampa looking great as well. all in the green, just 22 minutes from lakeland into downtown. back to you. time now 5:50. state inspectors have temporarily shut down an area because of rodent droppings. >> it's part of or "dirty dining" report. the auburndale location was temporarily shut down, 65 rodent droppings were found in several areas. >> also evidence of rodents in the walls, ceiling and food prep area. it was the same violation the

with the alternates. >> this happened just past gibsonton drive where the southbound lanes are shut down. what they are letting cars do, they are actually moving cars around the crash and letting them back on at gibsonton drive. we're starting to see some backups, traffic starting all the way at riverview drive. so you might want to get off further north around 301 and take that on down to avoid this congestion in there. either way leave yourself extra time to either make that detour at 301 or to sit through this traffic here. i'll let you know as soon as that clears. we're also watching a construction project on i-275 southbound in pinellas. 54th avenue south is blocked. should be reopening any minute now. this project has been going on for a couple of days and expected to go on overnight again tonight but they usually reopen that exit at 6:00 a.m., if not you have to get off at 22nd avenue south and take 19 on down. pretty busy traffic morning for us.
